Banned hiragana from Japanese license plates and why

Most Japanese license plates have a hiragana on them, but some are banned

お (o) - looks similar to あ (a)

を(wo) - pronounced the same way as お(o)

し(shi) - the character for death (死) is also pronounced shi

へ(he) - there is another character pronounced the same way (屁) and it means fart

+ へ can sometimes be read as え(e)

ん (n) - cause it is hard to pronounce on its own

Queen Cinder was a high ranking champion, before the king fell for her might and fierceness. They were unstoppable in battle, fiery brutality combine with cold-hearted mercilessness. They absolutely have no soft spot... except for each other.

It's a shame that they left before their son could hatch.

Happy IKEA monkey day to all those who celebrate

December 11, 2012 was the day Darwin the Japanese macaque was found roaming outside an IKEA in North York, Toronto. He was rescued by Storybook Farm Sanctuary and lives there to this day enjoying the good life with many monkey friends.

An's new school uniform has a black band around one arm. This is possibly based on an older practice of wearing a black armband after the death of a loved one. This armband was worn to show you were in mourning or to commemorate the deceased person.

Sorry for the watermark, but I just had to snip this absolutely adorable moment from "Into the Light" from the 2019 Tokaigi concert. To me, it almost looked like a private little dance between them; like Marina did a little curtesy, and then Pearl a little bow, like she was inviting Marina to dance . . . but then, given the conversation that followed the song, I think it was actually a little pantomime of how Marina tried to introduce herself to Pearl when they first met (when she didn't speak Inkling yet), and Pearl invited Marina to come with her so she could show Marina Inkling culture (despite not speaking Octarian herself)!

Well, regardless of what that adorable little bit was, things certainly did get kinda intimate for a moment there 🩵🩷

Komainu Fast Facts

They are often called lion dogs in English, inspired by that of China's guardian lions.

Combining the protective nature of dogs and the fierce nature of the lion -- this statue often guards shines either directly inside or right at the entrance.

Normally in pairs, one with the mouth open and another with it's mouth closed; Komainu represent the beginning and ending of all things

This is because their mouths mirror the first and last letters of the Sanskrit alphabet.
