ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS (1969) - JURY AND TRIAL IN MOVIES (Part 9/10)
Nominated for no less than 8 Oscars (only won the one for best Music), this historical portrayal of Henry The 8th love then disdain towards his wife Anne Boleyn, played by a gorgeous Genevieve Bujold is rich in sets, costumes and action . The trial of Anne Boleyn before she gets beheaded is alas too short buts still manages to depict the then "judicial system'.
Above are posters from Japan and the complete Italian fotobusta set.
Director: Charles Jarrott Actors: Richard Burton, Genevieve Bujold, Irene Papas

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1968)
My rating: 6/10
Pretty solid adaptation, with a bunch of added subplots that, in general, complement the core story rather than detract from it.

GENEVIEVE BUJOLD in ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS (1969) She was a tiny, seemingly fragile woman made of steel — willful, passionate, intense. She was exactly the actress I wanted to play Anne Boleyn. Even her French accent was perfect. I hired the girl without meeting her or testing her. Her name was Genevieve Bujold. She was a very special personality, perfect for Anne. But when we needed Genevieve to be at her best, we were faced with the unwelcome visit of Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth swept onto the set with her entourage and settled down into her seat. Genevieve was fighting mad. She turned to Charles Jarrott and me and said, "I'm going to give that bitch an acting lesson she'll never forget!" She took her position in front of the camera. What seemed a misfortune suddenly turned into an advantage. Genevieve flung herself into the scene with a display of acting skill I have seldom seen equaled in my career. Then she stormed off the set. Soon after, she was nominated for Best Actress and hailed by critics as the new Hepburn. - Hal Wallis, producer of Anne of the Thousand Days

I just got done watching their 45 minute Darian Jarrott documentary on Youtube. It's all body cam and dash cam footage. Not only of the officer's shooting, but their police chase and the drug dealer's shooting. So sad... that cop had three kids and one on the way.

One of the high points of Anderson’s career was KEY 103’s “Morning Show,” which he hosted with Jarrott and Cathy Conley Swofford from 1983 to 1991.
“He was an extremely talented writer and a naturally funny guy,” Swofford said. “David Anderson was the tallest member of the team but never short on talent, wit and humility. He loved to volunteer for Austin nonprofits. He was especially fond of chili cook-offs, beauty pageants and Austin’s annual Spamarama.”
