percy is the type of guy that's so stuck in the past that he's even experiencing his present in the past.

okay it sounds nonsensical but stick with me, he will be hanging out with friends and having a good time, but he's having fun how you would looking back on your childhood and reminiscing how much fun you had. it's that feeling of homesickness even when you're at home, because you know eventually you'll have to leave because your actual physical home is elsewhere, so you spend your time dreading, and thinking about how happy you are now compared to when you'd have to leave.

so in my head, Mr Mandatory Breakup goes into a relationship with the mindset it'll end eventually, because that's what he's used too. and when he has already settled in his brain to break up OH OH OH! this guy watches his partner that he so clearly adores like a guy watching those home tapes of his deceased wife, both grieving and wishing they had more time with their lover, only difference is that percy is the who's dug the grave.

in 2020, i saw a lot of videos on tiktok of late diagnosed autistc people (esp women) and a lot of what they spoke about resonated with me. so in early 2021, i went to a behavioral center that a family friend from like a decade prior recommend (she kept asking my mom if i was autistixlc or if she wanted me tested) bc she worked there but the diagnosis?

not autistic

and the therapist literally told my mom that the reason for that is because she gave me so many coping skills that i did not qualify for an autism diagnosis and that even if she did put it on my record (direct quote: if you got her tested 15 years ago she would be diagnosed autistic) it would cause more harm and close more doors in society than just being labeled A Little Weird/Odd.

but i mostly got tested to understand my own brain and thought process rather than an official diagnosis which i got. so i live my life knowing that i am autistic, my parents didn't other me growing up (my mom later realized she's probably autistic as well and by dad likely has adhd/add, so a lot of the time they just didn't treat me like adults treated them) so it didn't hinder me, and i can tell my friends the truth but other people are told "technically i don't meet the criteria" if they ask

it's a weird limbo to live in

nat being the one to find out abt misty destroying the 'transponder' is exactly how it was always going to go and i LOVE its where we ended up. its why adult nat is so cold and jaded and wary around adult misty, its why she knows inherently that misty cuts her battery cable, tampering w something again to be close to her. why nat is not completely surprised at misty spying on her in her hotel room with a camera. like sorry, since nat's s1 misty hallucination its always been them, intertwined in this resentful and twisted and devoted red string of fate they keep tugging and tugging on until misty eventually strangles her

Eddie Diaz - son/grandson of Mexican immigrants and living in Small Town Texas is a DIFFERENT character than Eddie Diaz - son/grandson of Mexican immigrants living in Border City Texas, especially in West Texas

Cannon Eddie is NOT written like he comes from a small town, and writing him like he is IS a disservice to his character - especially as a Latino
