“But fires don't burn forever
And all these ashes crumble when we touch
We danced to death in the fire
What can we do now that the music's done, my love?”
How about a Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell AU where the second magician turns out to be Emma Wintertowne/Lady Pole?
I’m not sure how it’d work, exactly, but I do enjoy it for a few thoughts:
I’m curious as to what kind of magician Emma would be like, if she was equally exposed to English and fairy magic, quietly learning, and to have an outlet for all that internal anger.
I mean Stephen Black was equally exhausted and depressed, but had to carry on with his duties. So I suppose that Emma might have the strength to actually perform magic and do plot-related things like travel etc., rather than have to contain herself via the ‘period drama lady who is ill and must sit around sadly’ expectations.
I’m considering the internal conflict it would give Norrell, if he should witness the wonder of seeing someone else perform magic, and to find he enjoys rather than resents it, but to later find out it was done by a woman. I think denial would be a pretty big thing, unless she starts performing things even he can’t ignore.
The drama of it all if, he finds out it was her only after he’s already gambled away half of Lady Pole’s life to the gentleman with the thistle-down hair, whoops.
And if they do genuinely befriend each other, but he doesn’t really tell her about the deal until she starts being magicked off into Faerie each night.
I think it would make the task of completing the prophecy, of returning English magic etc., all the harder but perhaps even more epic, if one half of the magician duo is already in jeopardy.
I imagine the fairy would kill her if he thought her the second magician from the prophecy, but just as he saw no danger from Stephen until it was too late, I’m hopeful he’d be too arrogant to assume so.
I’ve just kept thinking that Emma exhibits magical powers of her own in the book, even though it feels... repressed and subconscious use of it?
Like her superhuman strength (if we discount the gentleman having given it to her, but that was not part of the resurrection deal) and possibly how she acquired a gun (if we discount... lock-picking, I suppose, or the idea of Stephen or the fairy or someone else having helped her)...
Let me tell you something about relationship. No, I’m not the expert, quite the opposite in fact. But I’ve been thru hell and learned a lot of shits about relationship so i guess, sharing is caring?
When it comes to finding the right person, trust your instict. The right relationship should feel easy. It should make you feel good about yourself; as if you are enough yet leave some room for you to grow better.
The right person would listen to you. They would respect your opinion eventho they’re totally disagree with yours. They will cling into you, but in the perfect amount of clinginess that wouldn’t restrict you from being yourself.
I know nothing about relationship, but one thing i know for sure, if somewhere in the middle of the relationship, you hear yourself saying ‘you deserve better’ that’s definitely the sign to leave. There’s nothing more depressing than being with someone everyday and hoping they’re somebody else.
Love is deceiving indeed, and finding the right one is not as pretty as they mention it in the movie. You could try and fail several times. But if you’re get lucky, you’ll find one :”)

I have to admit that I see so much JASMN content from the show of Childermass in his greatcoat and hat, that sometimes, when I write smut with him, in my mind, he's still wearing the greatcoat and the hat. In bed.
Hamilton Stars Add "Sisterhood" To "America The Beautiful"
To kick off the patriotic pageantry of Super Bowl LI, three stars of the original cast of Hamilton sang “America The Beautiful”—and ad libbed a little for equality, making a nice contrast to more or less everything else that happened leading into the game.
Renee Elise Goldberry, Phillipa Soo, and Jasmne Cephas Jones, who played the Schuyler sisters on Broadway, added “and sisterhood” to the line “God shed his grace on thee/And crown thy good with brotherhood/From sea to shining sea!”
The crowd in the stadium cheered instantly, and Falcons’ head coach Dan Quinn beamed.
Most of the major reactions on Twitter have been positive so far, but surely someone will find a way to blame the unsportsmanlike liberal agenda if anything goes wrong later in the game.
