The incense used for Lalla Malika during the ṭaifūr ceremony, stored in ornate containers of glass, wood, or metal, includes both plant-based and mineral ingredients. These are arranged in a circle and comprise the following:
ʿŪd l-qumari (Khmer wood): Cambodian agarwood, the primary incense for Lalla Malika, used in various forms such as large or small pieces or ground powder. It is also referred to as ʿūd l-Kambudy (Cambodian wood) and lunar oud.
ʿŪd mski (moss wood): Originating from the Sultanate of Oman, this agarwood is infused with fragrant essential oils for a luxurious scent.
ʿŪd d-hand (Indian wood): Indian sandalwood, prized for its soft, woody aroma.
Šbba l-ḥarmel: A blend of alum (a mineral) and Syrian rue (a plant), originating from eastern India. This white incense is particularly significant in the ṭaifūr, associated with prayers for the Prophet.
ʿŪd l-ʿambar: Iris rhizome, known for its earthy, floral fragrance.
A Herbal Mixture: A combination of wild rosebuds, wild lavender, perfumed dried myrtle, cloves, hazel bark, and dried henna leaves, contributing floral, spicy, and woody notes.
As well as the types of incense used during her rites, she also likes serghina, a traditional Moroccan incense which is made from the serghina plant and mixed with orange blossom water, alum, and Khmer wood (sometimes other things like musk, amber and essential oils). It's believed to be an Aphrodisiac. I've also read that she likes Java incense (benzoin) in all its varieties, henna leaves, Umm al-Nas (a fragrant resin linked to ceremonial use), shellac, and gum Arabic.
She generally likes oud, sandalwood and musk, so if you're not a muqaddama officiating an elaborate ceremony, incense in those scents should more than suffice. But she appreciates any scent as long as it's beautiful.
As well as the main offerings of incense by the officiant of the ceremony, musicians also burn incense. They have a metal tray, upon which a brazier is placed. Incense and coals are constantly added so that a fire will constantly burn. This fire is used to heat the drum skins used during musical performances. A second tray exclusively used by musicians contains one or more boxes of incense, as well as sugar cubes, a sprinkler with orange blossom water, and perfumes.
