Do BB!Jay and Poppy ever become friends again? Obviously there's... the Whole Kits Thing but IDK I just like seeing them be friends. I think they should have been friends in canon but god forbid Jayfeather hangs out with anyone except the Three (and Hollyleaf before she dies and then she dies again)

It doesn't happen for years. Poppyfrost wanted to move on SO bad, and she's chronically avoidant of any legitimate problems. If left to her own devices, she would have kept dodging him until the day she died.

I think what changed was Dovewing leaving.

Poppyfrost is one of the last people who talks to her before she Hits Da Bricks, not knowing that she was close to a boiling point. She was FINALLY going to be brave about it and chat with her 'niece' after being distant her whole life so far. And uh... it didn't end well.

Too little too little too late, really. But it killed her, that when she finally mustered up the courage it basically pushed Dovewing over the edge.

But after that, with Dovewing leaving completely and disavowing her garbage family for how they all hurt her or failed to protect her, Jayfeather can't keep doing this shit. Poppyfrost avoiding him and refusing to talk about it

He KNOWS it's just as hard on her as it is on him. And that her breath catches uncomfortably when she looks at him. How long are they going to live like this? Badly pretending that nothing happened while they're both obviously in the middle of a big mess of their mutual making?

I haven't written on it yet but I imagine he cornered her while alone, and ended up actually, legitimately chasing her down. Like,

"Poppyfrost. You're bottling something up again."

"Aaaaaahaha idk what you mean. What. Huh."

"Yes you do, this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I'm blind not stupid, you can't pretend our secret codebreaking lovechild didn't--"

"BYE"

"What do you MEAN BYE IM- HEY!! POPPYFROST!!!!"

Something about the way that EVERY time Poppyfrost turns her head, Jayfeather is there. Once a comfort, then an inescapability, and someday... back to something comfortable.

Never the way it was, but better than it is when she's bolting through the woods trying to pretend her problems don't exist.

A Hollyleaf, for your troubles.

This design comes with my own headcanon! It doesn’t really make sense but it was fun to come up with. I’ll put it under the break bc it’s quite a bit of text lol.

So i thought it would be cool for Holly to be a chimera? and the lighter half is from her sister Dove who was the kinda first pass at Dovewing. It’s difficult to explain in a way that makes sense? But basically Holly had powers like Dovewing’s but WAY less powerful, because of the circumstances of their birth. So instead of being able to hear across the entire clan territory, she can only hear in whatever one territory she’s in. After Dovewing is born, Holly loses her heightened senses completely, along with most of her lighter coloring (don’t ask me how that works. I like to thing of it as starclan/the ancient cats taking the bits of Dove out of Holly and remaking her to continue the prophecy bc it didn’t go to plan the first time.)

I also like to think that Holly herself has a power, but it’s less like being unkillable or dreamwalking like Jay and Lion, and more like god just poured all her skill points into charisma So she can easily influence people into being on her side, but she doesn’t use it often because she thinks it feels like betraying the will of her clanmates. Because of this power, Leafpool almost dies in the deathberry scene because, in her anger, Holly uses it to make her eat them until Jayfeather intervenes and saves her.

I’ve also toyed with the idea that Dove’s ghost (half ghost??) follows Holly around in Thunderclan until she finds a suitable cat to reincarnate as, and because of the nature of Holly’s powers, Dovewing gains her powers slowly as opposed to being born with them immediately.

Also I like to think that Holly is almost unrecognizable when she comes back from the tunnels because by that point she’s lost most of her lighter coloring. Dovewing being the reincarnation of the Dove half of Hollyleaf means that she looks exactly like the Dove side of Hollyleaf, minus a couple of the black spots, so Jay and Lion are constantly reminded of Holly when they look at Dovewing.

I saw someone draw Dovewing with red eyes and I liked it a lot, so I’m giving it to my Dovewing. I also think the heterochromia is cool with one side being red as holly berries and the other side being as green as holly leaves.

anyways, this was basically my first somewhat-coherent warriors headcanon/au, so I hope you like it!

i never understood the “everyone makes amvs/pmvs/maps abt x character they’re so overrated” like of course ppl r gonna make content of like, bluestar or jayfeather who have tons of canon content, who else r they gonna animate a 5 min amv to??? thornclaw?????
