(Everybody's Waitin' on) The Man with the Bag
Songwriters: Irving Taylor, Harold Stanley and Dudley Brooks
Oh Mr Cringle, I'm soon gonna jingle
The bells that'll tingle all your troubles away
Everyone's waiting for the man with the bag
Cause Christmas is coming again
He's got a sleighful, it's not gonna stay full
He's got stuff to drop at every stop on the way
Everyone's waiting for the man with the bag
Cause Christmas is coming again
He'll be here with the answers to the prayers
That you made through the year
You'll get yours if you've done
Everything you should, extra special good
He'll make this December one you'll remember
The best and the merriest you ever did have
Everybody's waiting for the man with the bag
Christmas is here again
Oh Mr Cringle, I'm soon gonna jingle
The bells that'll tingle all your troubles away
Everybody's waiting for the man with the bag
Christmas is here again
He's got a sleighful and it's not gonna stay full
He's got stuff to drop at every stop on the way
Everybody's waiting for the man with the bag
Christmas is here again
He'll be here with the answers to the prayers
That you made through the year
You'll get yours if you've done
Everything you should, extra special good
He'll make this December the one you'll remember
The best and the merriest you ever did have
Everybody's waiting, they're all congregating
Waiting for the man with the bag, waiting for the man with the bag

3 Items of Vince Giordano News
Vintage bandleader Vince Giordano is having a moment — one of several such moments over a long and enviable career — and so we thought it made sense to bundle them together and report them on International Jazz Day.
The first is indicated by the artwork above. I learned about this historic team-up only in February when I saw that the two principals were playing a concert in Palm Desert,…

"ALTHOUGH I DID THIS IN THE EARLY SEVENTIES, IT STILL HAS A LIT OF SIXTIES IN IT."
PIC INFO: Resolution at 1197×1920 -- Spotlight on a concert poster design for South African musician Hugh Masekela, performing live at the Philharmonic Hall at the Lincoln Center, NYC, on Friday, May 12, 1967.
OVERVIEW: "Previously listed as hailing from 1972, we've recently discovered this poster was actually produced for a performance in 1967. This has been confirmed by a variety of sources, including a notice about the (then) upcoming performance in an April 1967 issue of "Jet" magazine; the poster's appearance in a publication dating prior to 1972 (The Push Pin Style, published in 1970), as well as Lincoln Center's own records indicating Hugh Masekela performed there in 1967 and 1968, but not in 1972. The same artwork was repurposed for a 1973 album cover by Masekela which was the likely cause of the date's confusion so many years later."
-- MILTON GLASNER (American graphic designer)
*^As it turns out, Milton's above quote about the poster's anachronistic design is technically incorrect, but it seems inappropriate to change it at this point.
