HSMTM: The Holiday Special Soundtrack

i spent my morning listening to the soundtrack, and like i really really enjoyed it! so, i figured i’d come on here and do like a little review and my thoughts on it, not like anyone really cares but oh well. i haven’t done this in a LONG time, so please bear with me lol. 

This Christmas (Hang All the Mistletoe): I think this was an amazing choice to put as their very first track. Sofia fucking killed it, and the song truly complimented her voice and it was just pure perfection to me.

Perfect Gift: My little rini heart didn’t know how to handle this song. jbassett truly captured ricky’s feelings throughout the first season. the lyrics were so pure and fluffy in a sense. even after so many months, this ship still hits so very much. i am still so in love with them, it’s starting to get ridiculous lmaooo

Feliz Navidad: okay, so i don’t know what happened here. they honestly did frankie and joe real dirty. there was too much autotune for my liking, and it didn’t truly capture their talent and beautiful voices. frankie and joe deserved SO MUCH more my god.

Hanukkah Medley: julia’s voice at the very beginning truly had me. but, this song was not her best performance in my opinion. however, i still quite enjoyed it. 

Last Christmas: i’m just going to say, matt truly had me. like, i absolutely love this song. i think if they had done a more acoustic version it would’ve complimented his voice even more and brought it over the top. i think this would be one of my top 3 off of the soundtrack.

White Christmas: larry fucking killed it, are you kidding me????? his voice, his tapping, it was literally just everything for me. like, this was an amazing piece, and they honestly don’t showcase larry’s talent enough in the show. Another song to go into my top 3. 

Little Saint Nick: this one was fun to bop to, i think when the special drops it’s really going to be a fun little number. Admittedly, not one of my favourites.

Believe: dara was AMAZING i absolutely love her voice. and she just took this song and made it hers. the showrunners were really like we didn’t give her enough justice during the show, so here you go.

What Are You Doing This New Years Eve?: i’m not going to lie, but i fucking got scared when kate started singing ksjkskj i kind of forgot that i was listening to the soundtrack which is the only reason why!!! i enjoyed this one! and mark has a very soothing and pleasing voice to listen to.

River: the first few notes that were just the piano really hit me and made me emotional, and then olivia started singing and i can’t lie but literal tears sprung to my eyes. her voice is so amazing and i absolutely love her and this song. and i just loved every single thing about this! definitely one of my favourites for sure - top 3!

Something in the Air: this one so absolutely fun!! i’m looking forward to this one in the special. honestly liv and josh’s little harmony hit me, the lyrics they had sung was just a reminder of how far they’ve come. but this is going to be a fantastic number i can already feel it! this truly captured the cast i think, and showcased each of their amazing talents!

That’s Christmas to Me: this one was very nice and soft and just so christmasy to me. this number made up for the injustice of frankie and joe’s feliz navidad lmao but their harmonies were everything and i loved this!

Christmas (Baby Please Come Here): i think this was a great way to close the soundtrack. dara was amazing, and i truly felt the christmas spirit in this one!

lowkey depression-spiraling this week but yesterday the combo of jbassett releasing an insane banger & my best friend getting involved in the most scream-worthy romantic drama to date has shocked the depressive episode straight out of my system. I’m fine now <3

Hard at Work on the Fall Festival: Creating Hands4Hope’s Newest Fundraising Event

Every fall, Hands4Hope hosts its two biggest fundraisers of the year - its annual benefit dinner and fall-related event. Traditionally, this fall-related event has been a haunted house that is planned and created by a team of youth and adult volunteers. This year though, Hands4Hope decided to try something new, and took on planning the Fall Festival, a two day event that includes a hay maze, tractor rides, scarecrow creating, face painting, and even a doggie costume show; all activities to give attendees their fill of Autumn, October, and Harvest, complete with Barsotti’s apple juice and Rainbow Orchards apple donuts!

This event was not a simple undertaking, and has required months of planning in advance. The Fall Festival Committee hosted its first meeting in May, and, since then, has been led by 20(?) dedicated youth who have overseen marketing, sponsorships, event planning, coordination with Town Center and other local businesses, budgeting, donations, and volunteer sign ups, to name a few of their many job assignments. The committee also collaborated with several adult mentors in creating the Fall Festival, and utilized the adults’ knowledge and connections in the community to further their efforts.

Cecile Wu, Oak Ridge Junior and member of the Marketing & Advertising Subcommittee, described her experiences working on the Fall Festival: “Being on the Marketing & Fundraising Committee really challenged me, and made me a harder worker and more responsible person. It was so great seeing how a group of us youth could accomplish that much!”

The Fall Festival Committee is in the final stages of planning, and is excited to see how the event turns out! With four months of work on the Fall Festival, they have successfully created a first-time event for Hands4Hope and developed a framework for future fundraisers to come.

Someone created a whole ass google doc of “proof” to cancel him. If you come off anon and dm me, I can send it to you if you want.

Apparently, he should have had A LOT more monitoring on his social media use. He was a little too involved with the fandom and treated fans like friends, which isn’t always the best idea. He should have done what JBassett and Olivia did and put parental locks on his phone lmao.
