Holy crap have I been on a JCA drawing *binge! And its been a blast! made a bit more of a bittersweet peice this time around, once again relating to me and my friend's AU. A worn out Drago is being cared for by....... almost everyone.

Chinese Lantern Festival

I thought of participating (at least in some way) in a well known Chinese tradition - celebration of the beginning of a New Year with lanterns of different shapes and forms (hanging, flying and floating ones, you name it). And since it is a Year of a Dragon and I'm in a JCA fanart era,.. you knew I had to draw my beloved Shendu)).

It is said that some lanterns bear symbols of good fortune on them while others may have riddles being hidden in their design.

"As a tradition of Chinese Lantern Festival, guessing lantern riddles is as important as eating dumplings on the day. The custom is a unique form of Chinese folk culture, showcasing people's good wishes for the new year and inspiring wisdom."

So, I had an idea to use a Sign of Fire from the second season of a show instead of traditional symbols, since Pan'ku Box was a puzzle to be solved and fire is an essential part of any existing lantern (and it is Shendu's elemental power, after all) )).

Hope you'll enjoy this picture, I had lots of fun working on it.

This is a mixed media art, you will find the part I drew in a traditional way under the cut. You can actually see how huge my eraser looks next to it, haha, but damn, do I love drawing miniatures.

Eng. Art with a small Tarakudo and one of the former deities - Bei-Zuchou. (we will call him Zuchou so as not to confuse him with Bai-Tza) The Violet Progenitor, who is also the deity of death, is closer in qi to the Progenitor of the Dark Chi of Shishen-Zde and one of the 5 highest beings. For some reason I imagine that he is the adoptive father for Tarakudo and the one who passed on the powers of shadow magic to him.

In short, because of one incident, more precisely the death of the blue deity - Krist, the other ancestors believed that Zuchou killed Krist. For this, he was deprived of his status, rank, and title of deity and overthrown into the mortal world, leaving him there to rot. After that, Zuchou began to hate both the people who killed the blue ancestor, and the ancestors themselves, who did not listen to Zuchou and simply overthrew him. Only after some time, only the Dark Progenitor learned the truth from the former god, and only with Shishen-Zde Zuchou has more or less normal communication.

What about Tarakudo, then most likely one day the former god discovered at that time little Tarakudo in the forest of one frightened Oni. Zuchou spared him and took him under the wing of the future king of the Shadow Clan and began to raise him as his own son.

By the way, @tatachai, what do you think about little Tarakudo?

Rus. Арт с маленьким Таракудо и один из бывших божеств - Беи-Зучоу. (будем называть его Зучоу чтобы не путать с Бей-Тса) Фиолетовый прародитель, он же божество смерти, более приближенное по ци к Прародителю Темной Чи Шишен-Здё и один из 5 высших существ. Я почему-то себе представляю что он является приемным отцом для Таракудо и тот кто передал ему силы теневой магии.

Если коротко то из-за одного инцидента, если точнее смерти синего божества - Крист, другие прародители посчитали, что Зучоу убил Криста. За это его лишили статуса, ранга, звание божества и свергли в мир смертных, оставив его там гнить. Зучоу после этого начал с ненавистью относится как и к людям, которые и убили синего прародителя, так и самих прародителей, которые не стали слушать Зучоу и просто свергли. Лишь через какое-то время только Темный прародитель узнал правду от бывшего бога и только с Шишен-Здё Зучоу имеет более менее нормальное общение.

Что насчёт же Таракудо, то скорее всего однажды бывший бог обнаружил ещё на тот момент маленького Таракудо в лесу одного напуганного Они. Зучоу его пощадил и забрал к себе под крыло будущего короля Клан Теней и стал выращивать как собственного сына.

Кстати Тата Чай, что думаешь насчёт маленького Таракудо?

As evening embraced the room, a warm glow spilled from the window, illuminating Shendu’s back as he sat at his desk. He carefully lifted his son onto his lap, ensuring the boy had a clear view of the mysterious book in front of them. Shendu was in the midst of explaining his plans for acquiring new magical powers to his curious son.

"...and with these 12 magical animals, I will become the strongest and most powerful demon to ever exist," Shendu declared with a hint of excitement in his voice.

His son, wide-eyed and filled with admiration, chimed in, "But daaaddy, you're already the strongest!"

A soft chuckle escaped Shendu’s lips. "That may be true. But with these," he gestured towards the intricate drawings of the 12 magical animals, "I will become unstoppable. See these two animals here?" He pointed at the illustrations of a rabbit and a rooster.

The son, eager and curious, followed his father's clawed finger. "Yeah, the bunny and the chicken!"

"With the combination of these two," Shendu explained, "I should be able to fly at great speeds and perhaps even travel around the whole world within a day." He lifted his other hand upward, emphasizing the possibilities.

His son's eyes lit up with excitement. "That is so cool! I want to do that! Daddy, I want magical animal powers too! Please! Pretty please!"

Shendu, however, was not amused by his son's enthusiastic demands. "Absolutely not," he said sternly.

The son's grin faded, and his voice took on a whiny tone. "But why!? That's not fair! I want to be strong and unstoba- unst... un-"

"Unstoppable," Shendu corrected.

"Unstobble!!" His son insisted. "I want to be strong too!" In a fit of frustration, he crawled onto the table, facing his father, and stomped his feet in a tantrum. "I want magical animal powers too!"

Shendu, unyielding, lifted his son and patted him on the head. "These powers are meant for me... and only me. You are far too young and inexperienced to try and use this sort of magic."

Defiantly crossing his arms, his son turned away, sulking. "It's not fair... I want to be strong, like you," he mumbled pitifully.

Shendu contemplated for a moment and gazed down at his son. "Perhaps... one day, when you're older, I will help you find and obtain a different set of powers. Something fitting for a young spit-fire like yourself," he soothed, closing the magical book.

Still pouting, the son turned to face his father, hope flickering in his eyes. "You... promise?"

"I promise."

So this was something I thought of the other day when I was thinking about a favorite childhood show of mine, Jackie Chan Adventures. Drago’s background in the show has always been open to interpretation and I’ve always had the idea that he was born back when Shendu ruled China, 900+ years ago. Drago would be very young here and like most young children he idolizes his father and wants to be like him, which I would argue is still accurate even in season 5 of the actual show. Also, I don’t believe the name “Drago” was his real name, no way Shendu would name his kid something that wasn’t Chinese, so I just refer to him as… “his son” in the short story above.

I don’t normally do backgrounds for my drawings so this was more of an experiment to see if I could do it, and see if I could accurately capture a “mood”. Also note, I don’t know how to write Chinese so all of the characters are just scribbles, maybe think of them as “demon language” if that helps. Just don’t try to read them, its just fake text.

Finally! After resigning Drago, I have completed my new designs for the Ice Crew!!

MC Cobra coming in with a sleek emo boy look~ kept the turtle neck he wears cause it fits him too well, and the classic emo hanging belts alongside his skinny jeans

Master Ice I gave two jackets cause like "he's master ice, and he's always a little bit cold 😅" and I feel like they help elevate his jaded personality

Meanwhile DJ Fist is rocking a hazard tape Jacket, so no one can say they weren't warned when they messed with this beast!

Another post dedicated to JCA in a row, I am in a mood for creating stuff for this fandom (or, rather, posting works from my stash, heh).

Here you can see a Demon Sorcerer Shendu with his human spouse (my OC), known by the name Jiao Fenghu. Both are talking about their soon to be daughter Huahuo, who is present on couple of previous posts.

Daughter's design was created by my friend and I've suggested a name for a small green bean)

I will upload a couple more studies of Jiao in the future in order to properly introduce her to the audience. But for now - enjoy a rare moment, filled with peace and tranquility)
