i know youre not a studyblr but as a senior can you please give any suggestions on managing 12th boards and competitive exams (im a jee aspirant but i still wanna know how you managed it all) hope its not a bother!

okay so. what i suggest you do (assuming you'll be starting 11th this year):

1. Enter 11th std. Don't get intimidated by others. Stay focused on understanding the concepts of all chapters, school exams toh derivations and formulas rattkar bhi ho jayenge. Clear concepts now rather than saving it for 'later'.

2. Practice all PYQs and whatever questions you get for maths. You can only do maths with practice × 100000. It's honestly quite tough, or it's too lengthy.

3. Fully strengthen the 'easier chapters' NOW. Own the knowledge like you made the concept.

4. Enter 12th. Let go of 11th from april-september and fully finish 12th std as soon as possible. Cover all concepts (I believe physics in 12th is relatively easier) and learn all formulas by your midterm exam time at school.

5. USE YOUR SUMMER VACATIONS WELL. COVER ALL BACKLOGS THEN AND THERE. (I regret procrastinating soo much 😭)

6. Just revise 12th entirely and focus on PYQs during October.

7. Nov-Dec go through 11th std again thoroughly, don't take too much stress for preboard cause hopefully you've prepared for 12th strong enough already. Don't take preboard marks to heart!!

8. January, do only and only JEE PYQs and cover whatever backlogs you have. Physics formulas must be learn to the heart. Understand organic chemistry basics very very well, cause it will help predict complex product formations too even if you don't remember the actual reaction!! Maths again, only practice or God can save you 💀 (I'm sorry I'm really scared of maths so maybe this is a biased reply!)

9. Now you'll have board practicals likely in Jan end or Feb only, just make sure your file is complete and you know the basic procedure of experiments. Don't stress too much about viva, usually your own teachers will help you through it!! Focus on practicals as it helps with conceptual JEE Qs too!!

10. Now simply focus on learning derivations and long answer type questions for upcoming boards. You've done enough for JEE and it's time to strength subjective answers. Focus only on cbse board PYQs and again, don't stress too much. Be confident you've worked so hard!!

11. Now the April attempt. Again start focusing on 11th at least 2 weeks before your JEE date. Revise 11th very well.

12. Lastly, solve sample papers only. During the last 3 days I recommend not studying. Only sample papers. With full syllabus. No chapter-wise or topic-wise. But yes if you still don't have concepts cleared, definitely do that asap. Still try to be fully prepared 3 days before the actual exam!!

That's all <33 I made it as detailed as possible for anyone to refer to. Set a goal and follow through guys!! I know it's super hard and yeah 11th mein vo feeling nahi aati, but trust me, if you can push yourself hard in 11th, you won't have to worry too much for the April attempt for sureeee.

Buck jolts awake on the couch with no idea of what time it is, and even less idea of what woke him. The latter resolves itself pretty quickly when, from the other end of the couch, Tommy lets out another window-rattling snore. Mr what are you talking about, Evan, I don't snore has his head tipped back, his mouth wide open. It's a deeply unflattering position and Buck can't help himself, reaches for his phone and snaps a photo.

Tommy's own phone is on the coffee table and if Buck can get there without waking him, he's going to have a delightful new wallpaper come morning. He wonders if he could sneak in a recording of Tommy's pneumatic drill impression and set it as his ringtone, too. Maybe it's a little mean, but Tommy's just such a dad with his insistence that he doesn't snore.

Buck almost drops his phone, but not before he sees the time: 00.34. 

Mentally, he scrolls through the day. A run through the neighbourhood, running into the lady two streets over with the cute dog. An unnecessarily indulgent breakfast, as has become a habit on his days off. Facetiming with Eddie and Chris. Collecting Jee from swimming lessons and dropping her home after an ice cream. Tommy showing up like he always does on their mutual free days - unannounced but never unwelcome. Trying to put together a decent lunch while Tommy tunes up the Jeep's engine for the third time in six weeks. Driving to the grocery store and bickering their way around the aisles. Talking Tommy's ear off about the latest episode of the latest podcast he's gotten into while they make dinner. Tag teaming the clean up when Tommy tries to insist he can take care of it all. Settling in to watch another movie Tommy can't believe you've never seen, Evan.

Yep. Nothing.

He pulls up the notes app on his phone, opens the right folder, and starts a new message. He'd given up on actually sending them before they could start getting bounced back with a number out of service message, knowing that would have taken him out at the knees.

It's past midnight and I didn't think about you dying once today, he writes. I know you'd say that's a good thing, and I think you're right, but I think it's the first time that's happened, and I feel really weird about it. I had a really nice day. There was a time I didn't think I'd ever have a nice day again, but I saw a cute dog, and I spoiled Jee, and I cooked, and I hung out with Tommy, and it was really, really nice. We're not back together btw but it's heading there. We both know it. You were right about him. I really, really wish you were here.

He saves the note, pockets his phone, leans over and pinches Tommy's nose shut in the middle of another snore to watch him flail awake.

"Asshole," Tommy says, once he's settled.

"Yep. C'mon," Buck tells him. "Bed."

Tommy grumbles, heaves himself to his feet, and staggers towards the bathroom. Buck watches him go for a second. Platonic and only slightly charged bed sharing is a fairly new development - Tommy has slept on this couch a lot over the last few months. He has a toothbrush in the bathroom. He has spare clothes in Buck's closet. He has a key.

Buck takes out his phone again and hesitates for a second.

I'm gonna tell him, he adds to his message. Tonight. Right now. While he's brushing his teeth so he can't change the subject. Wish me luck, pops. Love you.

buck helping maddie and chim out by watching jee a bunch and they make friendship bracelets for each other and jee's says BUF and buck asks what it means and she says best uncle forever duh and he doesn't tear up he doesn't except that he absolutely does and he makes her one that says BNF best niece forever and they're matching and adorable and then chim comes to pick jee up and buck is left with this massive mess of bracelet making materials and he resigns himself to having to spend hours fishing beads out from every nook and cranny of eddie's house (his house) but then eddie calls and tidying up doesn't seem so bad anymore and eddie asks how the mission to make friends is going and buck goes oh man eddie i'm so sorry i've replaced you already i've found the coolest person in the whole world and eddie is fine actually he's not vibrating with rage or anything lol why would he be and eddie's like that's great man (through gritted teeth) tell me about them and buck goes well her name is jee-yun and eddie laughs super fucking hard a bit too hard and he's not jealous of his best friend's three year old niece he's not WHY WOULD HE BE except that he definitely absolutely is and then buck asks how things are going with chris and he looks at all the mess on the table and he doesn't start tidying up instead he starts making and a week later a thick little envelope arrives on eddie's fixer upper's doorstep with two bracelets inside and a letter telling him that the BFF one is for christopher even if he's too cool to ever wear it and the one that says BF is for eddie and there's a little note that says he ran out of F beads but we're still forever eddie :)

He himself is not much of a singer, but Zhongli’s beloved spends every waking minute humming some kind of melody—sometimes it’s a light hearted melody, other times it’s weighed down by sadness and pain. It’s one of the easiest ways for Zhongli to figure out how you’re feeling, especially on days when you don't feel like talking much. When he hears you break out a song from the opera he knows that he’s in for a long day.

But over the past few days, you’ve been singing less and less, and he has no clue why. The house is so much quieter when when your melodies aren’t permeating through every room and it seems somewhat incomplete. Once again, the house is silent when he returns home to you, and if it weren’t for the angry counting coming from the living room, he’d assume that you were out.

“I’m home,” he says, but you don’t respond, still counting angrily under your breath.

“Seventy-three, seventy-four, seventy-six…” And then he hears the sound of metal hitting the ground, and he chuckles lightly to himself. You claim you like crocheting, but you always look like you might kill a man when you’re doing it—he worries that he might be the man in question.

“Li, you’re back,” you smile, finally acknowledging his presence. He smiles softly, pulling you into a hug and muttering something about the absurdity of your inability to count, earning him a swift glare and half-hearted slap on his arm. But of course, what else did he expect?

You fall into your usual afternoon rituals, making dinner together before settling down on the couch to eat it. If Zhongli had his way, you'd eat dinner at the dining table, but he couldn't truly pass up an opportunity to be snuggled up close to you, could he?

“Why are you staring at me like that?” you ask him, carefully shovelling a heaped spoonful of rice into your mouth.

“Can’t I look at my wife?”

“Not like that, you can’t. What’s wrong?”

Of course, when you ask him directly like that, he’d be a fool to not answer you. So he asks you the question that's been preying on his mind for the past few weeks—why have you suddenly stopped singing?

“I haven’t stopped singing,” You reply, confused by his words. You’d toned it back a bit after a colleague had a go at you at work, saying that your ‘incessant singing’ was grating and distracting. Obviously, you couldn't ignore a complaint like that, and realised that your singing may have been distracting for Zhongli too—sometimes he does work at home, and surely you trying to sing ungodly notes at two o'clock in the afternoon could be considered inconsiderate.

“Then why do I never seem to hear you anymore?”

“I thought maybe it was a little distracting for you, is all. You know, when you’re working or something.” You respond with a crooked smile. “I’m doing you a favour.”

“I didn’t ask for that particular favour,” He responds curtly, “In fact,” he continues, “your ‘favour’ has deprived me of one of my very earthly few pleasures.”

Zhongli describing his your singing as one of his very few earthly pleasures makes you laugh. Looking around this living room alone, you can see at least 10 things he’s bought with the same excuse—to say he has few pleasures is an understatement at best.

You look at him, not quite believing his words. You swallow a mouthfull of food, letting silence descend between the two of you. Of course, you believe his words, but you also run the risk of allowing yourself to become comfortable in you absent minded singing, and incurring the wrath of your colleague. And as much as you refuse to bend to the will of others, it truly wasn't a nice experience.

“What’s bothering you, songbird?” Zhongli asks tenderly, resting his food in his lap and wrapping his free arm around you. “You know you can talk to me.”

You sigh. “I really don't want to have to have that discussion with her again. She wasn’t exactly…diplomatic with her phrasing and that really hurt. So maybe I’ll just put the singing on the back burner for a while.” You eat another scoop of rice, looking away from Zhongli. He humours you for a while, continuing to eat in silence while he thinks of the best way to console you. Of course, he likes hearing you sing, but he likes how it gives you freedom to express yourself. What kind of husband would he be if he didn’t respect and appreciate that?

When you’re both finished eating, he finally speaks up. “You shouldn’t allow yourself to be stifled by others’ irrelevant opinions.” He says quietly, stroking your hair. “Your singing is a representation of you and how you feel, and you deserve to be able to express yourself freely.”

“You’re missing the point,” you sniffle.

“I am not.” Zhongli says, pulling you into a hug. “I am simply ignoring the opinions of those who are irrelevant. So sing, my little bird. Sing for all you’re worth.”

You laugh. “Let me guess, you’ll handle anyone who antagonises me?”

“That is a given,” He smiles. “I’ve been running out of people to unleash boulders on as of lately.”

“Please do not kill anyone because of this, Li. It’s truly not that serious.”

“Your happiness is a serious matter, yn.” Zhongli chuckles. “I shall try my best, but I make no promises.”
