Can I get a FIC abt the reader being Theodore’s gf and best friend and she’s embarrassed and alone in her dorm bc of cramps and they are REALLY REALLY bad and he just comforts her and they snuggle and he gives her his hoodie and fluffy!! (I’m dying from my cramps in my bed rn 🙏 I need comfort from my book bf)
Ok I don’t even know where to begin other than saying that this was my first request! After writing for over 5 years I can’t begin to explain how rewarding it is to know that someone else wants to read your work! Thank you to all of you who always like and reblog my work! Love you forever. And thank you so much for this request, I hope that you love it :)
Just Want To Be With You (Harry Potter: Theodore Nott)
Tumblr media
summary: female reader (she/her) x Theodore Nott
notes/warnings: mentions of bad period cramps, draco and mattheo being assholes (love them, but i needed a villain) fluff, and theodore just being comforting and cute, suggestive at the end
word count: 1,300+
You knew it. As soon as you woke up you knew that you had started your period. If the cramps from the day before didn’t tip you off already, they were making their presence known now.
You didn’t always have terrible cramps, but when you did…there wasn’t anything you wanted more than to curl up into a little ball under your sheets.
Alas, the world is unforgiving to women, and you couldn’t skip all your lessons without drawing some attention. Having to explain the inner workings of the female body to Professor Snape wasn’t exactly at the top of your priorities. So, you mustered up all the energy you could and went to the Great Hall for breakfast.
******
In hindsight, coming to breakfast may not have been the best idea. You were in pain and feeling quite nauseous, barely chewing on your toast as you poked at the food on your plate.
“You alright Y/N?” Pansy asked.
You gave her a weak smile as you shook your head no, gesturing to your stomach in the process. She gave you a knowing look, instantly understanding your frustration and pain.
You hoped that you would see Theo in here, he usually woke up later than you did so you knew it would be pointless to wait for him in the common room. Yet the lightly curly-headed and blue-eyed boy was nowhere in sight.
Malfoy and Mattheo whispering and giggling brought your attention back to the table.
“Look at Potter with that know-it-all mudblood, we’re going to wipe the floor with Gryffindor at tonight’s match.”
Now you weren’t exactly friends with Hermione Granger. She seemed nice enough from the lessons that you had shared with her, being a know-it-all was a pretty accurate description of her. But Malfoy was always a complete minger.
“Don’t use that word,” you spoke up, surprising the boys whose giggles and large smirks turned into sharp stares.
“What was that Y/L/N?” Mattheo spoke up.
“I said not to call her that,” you spoke again, more strongly.
Malfoy smirked before speaking again.
“What, are you friends with the mudblood? Why didn’t you just say so Y/N.”
“SHUT UP MALFOY!” you exclaimed.
“Jesus Christ you’re no fun,” Mattheo stated under his breath.
“What’s wrong with you, are you on your period or something?” Malfoy teased.
That caused both boys to laugh, along with a few first years seated a few feet down.
You got up quickly, storming out of the Great Hall. You could barely hear Malfoy doubled over in pain after Pansy had elbowed him in the stomach.
As you made your quick exit you bumped into a large figure.
“Love—”
It was Theodore. His bright smile dropping as he took in your state. Your face had reddened from the embarrassment and light tears filled your eyes.
“Y/N, are you alright?”
“Yeah, just want to get to class early.”
“Ok, I’ll come wi—”
“NO!” you said, a little quicker and aggressively than you intended.
“You have a game today; you need to eat. I’ll see you in class," you smiled softly, reaching on your tiptoes to place a small kiss on the edge of his mouth.
Theodore watched as you left, a sad frown gracing his lips as he continued into the Great Hall.
******
Your lessons went by as smoothly as they could, despite the stabbing pain in your abdomen.
Theo was as supportive as he could be, you hadn’t exactly told him much. He knew something was wrong, but he knew better than to pry. You would tell him when you were ready.
As you walked back to towards the common room Theo swayed your hands back and forth. You looked up at him, giving a soft smile before your eyes dropped to the ground again.
“I’m going to grab my robes then stop at the great hall for a quick snack before heading to the pitch,” he told you.
FUCK…you forgot he had a match tonight.
“You know, I’m not feeling too well. Would you mind if I just stayed here?”
Of course it would be ok, Theo would never make you do anything that you didn’t want to.
You loved going to his games and supporting him. He’d give you your favorite quidditch hoodie of his and look to the stands to see you cheering and screaming louder than anyone.
“I—Yeah…Y/N, are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yeah, just not feeling too hot,” you smiled weakly.
“Good luck tonight, I can’t wait to hear all about it.”
You hugged him tightly before giving him a soft kiss and walking up the stairs to your dorm room.
******
Hours had passed and you could assume that the match was over and Slytherin had won from the cheering and chanting that echoed up the stairs from the common room.
Your cramps were relentless. You took a steaming hot shower, and while the pain had subdued for a short moment, it had returned.
You were currently in the fetal position, clutching your stomach as tears fell from your eyes, your transfiguration textbook thrown aside as your homework was long forgotten.
Too caught up in your pain, you hadn’t heard when someone entered your room.
Theodore was terrified to find you curled up on the bed, soft whimpers leaving your lips.
“Darling!” he exclaimed, dropping his bag at the door and hurrying to your bed.
Your eyes shot open at the noise, turning your head to face him as he made his way over to you, your gaze softened.
“How was your game?” you asked.
“Y/N, enough. Please love, what’s wrong.”
There was no more hiding the pain, you were literally curled up in front of him.
“I’ve had the worst cramps all day and the pain just won’t go away. I tried to do McGonagall’s assigned reading, but I just couldn’t focus,” you said as the tears began to fall.
Theodore moved your books to the floor before moving you slightly so he could sit next to you.
“Why didn’t you just say so love? You know my mom makes that special tea.”
“I—I was embarrassed. Malfoy and Mattheo were being mean, and I just overreacted.”
“No, you didn’t.”
“What?”
“You didn’t overreact. You have every right to feel how you do right now. I’d like to see Malfoy have cramps. I’m sure he’d be even more insufferable than he is now.”
You chuckled softly at his statement.
Theodore always had a way of making you feel seen. He was your boyfriend of course, but he was also so much more than that. He was your best friend. Everything between you too was effortless, he never made you feel like a burden. You felt silly thinking that you were.
“What do you need from me?” he asked gently.
“Just want to be close to you,” you whispered softly, leaning your head on his shoulder.
“Now that I can do,” he said as he stood up.
“Theo, no, where are you going?”
Without answering you, he walked across your room and pulled his hoodie from his bag.
As he returned, you sat up slowly. Reaching for the hoodie he shook his head.
“Arms up.”
You happily complied and let him put the hoodie on you, pulling it on completely before leaning down to kiss your lips softly.
He shifted you away from him so he could cuddle up behind you. Pulling you close, he rested his hand on your stomach, drawing soft circles with his fingers.
You pushed your body back slightly, wanting to be as close as you could to him. He inhaled slightly at the friction before tightening his arm around you.
“You know, I remember reading some muggle article that says sex supposedly helps with cramps.”
“Oh shut up” you laughed.
“I’m serious,” he laughed with you.
Turning your head slightly so your lips could meet with his, you gave him a quick kiss before pulling back.
“I love you Theo.”
“I love you too Y/N.”
check out the rest of my masterlist :)

I read THROAM for the first time in ~5 years. Here's what I have to say.
Volume I: There was so many characters I forgot about when going into the fic. Pete, Jac, Spencers family. I cant believe I forgot them. Pete will always be a fave because everyone hates him and it makes me laugh. The first volume was always my 2nd favorite, I think it still is. overall, the storyline isn't complicated and I like that. Ryan is such an asshole so I dont feel bad for him one bit in any of the fic. Also, I used to say that the bus crash was Brendons fault (I was 13, okay?) But Ryan was just an unstable motherfucker who truly should not be trusted to drive a vehicle of any kind.
Volume II: holy shit. I hate volume two. Not saying the writing is bad but Jesus Christ, Ryan is an asshole. bro literally stalked Brendon after he ran into him at that party like what? I had messaged a friend after finishing volume 2, saying "I'm a really nice person I never wanna make people feel sad, let alone make a whole fictional story about someone being severely depressed and unstable whilst chasing a boy then fucking his bf at the end???" and I think that perfectly sums up how I feel (and always felt) about volume two. other than the fact that I used to say that it was Brendons fault. (I was 13. THIRTEEN) it wasn't his fault. Some parts were, yeah, but it's hard to pinpoint everything that happened on one person. at the end of the day, its a good story I just Hate it (does that make sense) I love it but I hate it? it remains my least favorite purely for the pain it put me through.
Volume III: I love this volume. I always have. Sisky is amazing, we all love Sisky. I will say the iconic song/album references/jokes made me cringe a bit, though. Im not exactly sure what about this fic I always liked so much, I guess you can really see Ryans character growth and finally not be as much as a miserable fuck (he's still unstable dw) Since Ryan is less insufferable, it makes the volume more enjoyable. I like that Spencer and Ryan became friends again, I think it makes the book more enjoyable and tbh I think Spencer rly tied vol 3 together, if he wasn't part of it it would lowk suck. overall, best volume cant wait to host the throam tour where we go to hotel Chelsea then machias.
final thoughts: if I thought throam was 100% good when I was 13, Id say now that I think throam is about 85% good now. (does that make sense pt 2) this fic has sent me back into being 13 and I have been blasting some pretty. odd. (im listening to it rn as im typing this) and listening to this album just makes my life feel more simple. still a solid fic, I think it would be an amazing published book. and I think we can all agree that it would be amazing to see THROAM movies (in our dreams)
Thanks for reading lol

Threat of Hell
I often see videos circulating online of atheists saying that people who need to be threatened with eternal damnation to be a good person are "bad people on leashes." This argument which I'm starting to see more as of late is trying to twist Christianity into what it's not: a rule book. Yes, the Bible does give people laws to follow and specific things to believe in. Yes, the Bible also says believing in those distinct things is your one-way ticket to heaven. No, this doesn't make people "bad" for following them just to keep themselves out of hell. True belief doesn't come from fear of hell, it comes from excitement to be with God in heaven. I see it as a gift to be able to follow Jesus Christ. I also see it as a gift to have an opportunity to be with him in heaven instead of the lake of fire. I don't see it as shackles on my feet keeping me from doing what I "really want to do in life." The Bible teaches me morals. It tells me what is right and wrong. Other people find morals from different places, however, I never see the argument that "because there are laws against murder it means everyone is a bad person because they would go around murdering without it." It's only with religious books that I see this argument brought out. The Bible is a book of morals, not a book of rules. The things it teaches help us be the best person we can be, it teaches us to be like Jesus. What is wrong with being a loving and helpful person?
People often see religion as a way to control a population and get them to do what one person, usually the head of the religion, wants. However, that would be a cult, and there is a big difference between religions and cults. In the Bible, you choose to let God into your life. He gave us free will, and he is letting us use it. If God wanted a bunch of rule-following robots, he could've done so. The Bible says numerous times that God is a jealous God (Exodus 20:5, Deuteronomy 6:14-15, Exodus 34:14). He wants us to follow him. He wants us to praise him in all that we do. No matter how many followers on earth he has, it doesn't change one thing that it would change if Christianity were a cult. Jesus doesn't get any worldly possessions from having more followers. The tithes and offerings you put in the bowl don't go directly to Heaven's mailbox. Cult leaders often have one person at the head of the operation who obtains money, power, and possessions over people when they have followers. God is omnipotent. He doesn't get more power when 10 people follow him, he doesn't get more power when 10000 people follow him. He is all-knowing and all-powerful. You might be thinking, "Then why does he want us to follow Him in the first place?" Because he loves us. God wants us to be with him in Heaven, and God knows that following and believing in him is the only way to do that. The Lord is giving us a chance to make it to paradise and so many skip out on it to have fun for 50-80 years on Earth.
Christianity does have faults in its leaders. I won't lie about that. I can get the argument that Christianity is a cult when you look at the pastors getting rich off of their congregation. They buy private planes and cars with the donations they get from the people. Yes, influential church leaders can get their congregation to do things that aren't exactly what you would call "Christian". I've seen sermons of certain pastors preaching hate against certain groups when they know the Bible is all about love. With a little bit of common sense, and the Bible by your side, it is possible to see right through these false teachings and go back to what is right: what the Bible teaches. The Bible is your weapon against evil, so wield it. The Bible is your protector from the Devil, so hold it. The Bible is your teacher throughout life, so read it. Ask God to give you discernment on what is right and wrong and fortify your understanding with what the Bible tells you.

the hobbit (review)
Tumblr media
Right, I know I am a million years late here (ok, more like 87) but jesus fucking christ I loved this book. I’ve been a fan of the Lord of the Rings films since I first saw them with my dad back in the early noughties but having never sat through an entire The Hobbit movie (soz) I didn’t know that much about the story of this one tbh. I knew there was a dragon? Some treasure? A group of dwarves and maybe one of them is gay and totally into Bilbo? (That may have been more tumblr’s version of events but I was willing to believe it and - guess what - still willing to believe it tbh.)
Some of my preconceived notions of course were accurate (ok, all of them) but what I didn’t anticipate was just how much I would bloody love it. Tolkien’s style gets a lot of praise, understandably so, but I wasn’t aware of just how much it would gel with me. Its almost satire-like humour was flawless, and it really gave me the impression of someone sitting me down to tell me a bedtime story; of course, this was exactly how these books were initially intended and it shows. But it works. I am totally of the opinion that this would make a fabulous audiobook, and I can’t wait to check them out in a couple of years once I’ve done my first proper read-through.
My favourite thing about this were the introductions we get to all of the different creatures, races and creeds in Middle Earth. The elves, goblins (orcs in later works) and eagles in particular were an absolute joy to read and get to know. Legoloas’ character in the films was always my favourite (my big queer crush on Orlando Bloom in a blonde wig may have had an influence there but we’re not here to talk about that…) so it was super fun to get to know some of the elves in this novel. I love the idea that the elves were fully just living their lives with Bilbo kicking about all invisible, making no noise whatsoever. The things he must have been privy to… I digress…
The eagles were a great introduction too. My partner and I watched The Return of the King on the night I finished this and I was so delighted to fully appreciate their significance at the end. A dear co-worker of mine (and HUGE Tolkien fan) has said they play an even more interesting role in The Silmarillion so I am really looking forward to reading that once I’m done with the original trilogy.
Everything in me wants to binge them now, but I have some big reading plans over the next few months so I am planning on doing one a month. Considering I read this in two days, I don’t think that is beyond the possibility of belief.
Well done Tolkien, you have impressed. 5 stars, obviously.

2. Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2024? also Dark Heir and I cannot wait for the sequel I need. answers.
3. New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To? The Prisoner’s Throne by Holly Black, tho I have yet to read the previous book so it’ll have to wait :”)
4. Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2024? Nothing at the moment, but we’ll see if something catches my eye
5. Biggest Disappointment? Dead Collections by Isaac Fellman, it had a very interesting premise but didn’t do much with it? Or at least I feel like it could’ve done so much more cause the potential was there but it didn’t, instead went over the same point over and over again in a fairly boring way so the whole thing ended up falling flat for me
6. Biggest Surprise? Can’t say a book has surprised me yet so far, all have pretty much matched expectations, but there’s still time
7. Favorite New Author? Not exactly new but Pacat did confirm my love for her writing once again, and did not disappoint even with the “limits” of YA target audience which did have me a bit skeptical at first, but boy did she deliver
8. Newest Favorite Character? Will Kempen (Dark Rise) is the most pathetic wettest little meow meow he’ll have to be so strong to withstand book #3😔💪🏻
9. Newest Fictional Crush? I too would be weak for Sarcean (Dark Rise), I get it Anharion I truly truly do🙏🏻
💕Best Ship💕 James/Will (Dark Rise) have me chewing wires they’re so !!!!!! the rituals are so damn intricate jesus chRIST.
10. Book That Made You Cry? Not cry but The Body by Stephen King nearly had me there ngl
11. Book That Made You Happy? The Sunshine Court by Nora Sakavic, tho arguably not a happy book :”)
12. Favorite Book Adaptation You Saw This Year? oh 3 Body Problem was amazing binged it in one sitting I could not stop watching and I definitely want to read the books some day! Also ofc Interview with the Vampire was insane and unhinged and so so so good and I need season 3 yesterday. and I will read the books for this too, need me more absolutely deranged vampires
13. Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year? I don’t really write reviews but I did spam Dark Rise to @novishu and got her to obsesses over read it so I’m counting that as a very successful review😌✨
14. Most Beautiful Cover? Firekeepeer’s Daughter is mesmerising, love the mirror effect and the colours! Also The Chosen and the Beautiful has very delicate feel to it, and fits the book perfectly so that’s a close second
15. What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year? I’m trying to get through all the books/ebooks I already have so that’s a plan. Also I’m currently reading The Goldfinch and if it doesn’t wear me out I might tackle The Secret History next and then Babel as I’ve had those on my TBR for a while now, and I wanted to read Babel after TSH since I’ve seen it described as a critique/different take on the same themes of that (and Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell which I’ve already read)
(no pressure) tagging @fugitoidkry @novishu @montdargent

Story: 5 out of 5 Smut: 5 out of 5
This is my first Harley Laroux book… and I LOVED it! It was interesting to see how the dynamic between Manson, Lucas, Vincent, and Jason worked, and I kind of regret not reading “The Dare” beforehand, but I think this book answers any questions you might have about that night.
I liked that these young men have had a crush on Jessica all these years, and vice versa, and that Jessica is finally letting her guard down and doing what she wants. Because seriously, that revenge scene against Alex, Danielle, Nate and all those other backstabbing jerks… perfection!
The cliffhanger wasn’t too bad, but I’m anxious to know how they’re going to deal with Manson’s violent father being back, and what exactly is going to go down when Jessica doesn’t owe them a debt anymore.
I need to crack open book two asap.
Now enjoy my thoughts throughout the book...
* So the cheerleader made out with the freak. I’m getting Eddie/Chrissy vibes lol
* Kyle is also giving Jason vibes. Fuck this dude already. I don’t like that he’s setting up Manson to be jumped.
* Oh so we started in high school for the first chapter and then jumped to after high school in chapter two..? Okay then.
* Another two year time jump for chapter three.. I like that the characters are being aged up haha.
* Lmao. Jessica would run into two of the boys while washing cars for a church. Oh god, yes! At least they know she’s back in town now.
* Lmao. They got the best car wash they ever could have hoped for 😂
* Goddamn. Vincent and Jason… okayyyy, I see you 😏
* Ugh. Seriously? Kyle’s buddies still act like they’re in high school? Gross.
* The tension between Jessica, Manson, Vincent, Jason, and Lucas. Holy hell.
* So the girl Jessica’s ex cheated on her with is now into bad boys and interested in Lucas? Let the girl drama begin.
* Oh I’m so glad Lucas won that race.
* Alex is a little bitch boy. They should have shot him. And Jessica!! You’re a goddamn fool.
* Wow. Fuck Jessica for going along with those “friends” of hers. I hope the boys make her grovel for what they did to the cars.
* Dammnnnnn. These boys are the “fuck around and find out” type 😏
* Uh oh. Using her body to pay off the debt she owes them for fixing her car… this isn’t going to end well.
* Jesus… Lucas making her give him a show with her vibrator.. 🥵
* Omg. Lucas and Manson were fucking around when they “broke into” Jessica’s place. Holy shit.. that entire scene..
* lmao. Lucas is not an aftercare dude. He was so awkward before settling in.
* So Manson’s dad is back in town? This isn’t going to go well, is it?
* Jesus Christ, Vincent! I’m with Jessica. I thought you were the sweet one 😂 You little fucking sadist.
* Cat girls lmfao. I can’t with Jason right now.
* They got her cum-drunk. Holy shit. What even is this book?! And now Jason and Manson are totally fucked. They’re in deep.
* Damn. Manson found out his dad was back in town on his own. He’s really spooked by that asshole, huh?
* Road head 😏
* Jesus… this book is pure filth. I love it.
* Manson’s dad is freaking me out- the way he grabbed Jessica? Oh hell no.
* Lmfaoooo. Yessss! Jason fucking Jessica while Alex could hear..? That’s my new favorite scene 😂
* Damn, Manson. You really cut your name into her ass cheek, huh? 😏
* Oh I’m so glad she finally stood up to Danielle! Fuck that backstabbing bitch. And the boys got their revenge!!!
* Lmfao. She took out Lucas first in paintball and now he’s pissed. He’s definitely gonna fuck her, I just hope he pulls in his temper.
* Bent over the school desk. I’m here for it lol.
* God. Manson’s dad is a dick. Can he just die if alcohol poisoning or something?
* Goddamn. I’m not normally a fan of MM scenes, but there’s just something about Manson and Lucas getting it on that is.. 🥵
* Oohhhhh. They plan to kidnap Jess and bring her fantasy to life..? WHERE’S BOOK 2?!

received an email yesterday concerning an article I wrote some time ago. The person asked me so many interesting and thought-provoking questions in that email. In this follow-up post, I will try to answer some of those questions to the best of my knowledge.
What role did the church play in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade? What exactly does the Bible say about slavery? Is Christianity a “slave religion”? Why so many black people love the church and the Bible?
According to Jomo Kenyatta, the founding father and first president of Kenya, “When the missionaries arrived, the Africans had the land and the missionaries had the Bible. They taught us how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land and we had the Bible”.
That was the beginning of the European colonization of Africa. As I said in my other post, the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was introduced by the coming of the Europeans. The Europeans came with the Bible the same way the Arab raiders and traders from the Middle East and North Africa introduced Islam and the Quran through the Trans-Saharan Slave Trade. So yes, the church did play a major role in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. In fact, the church was the backbone of the slave trade.
In other words, most of the slave traders and slave ship captains were very “good” Christians. For example, Sir John Hawkins, the first slave ship captain to bring African slaves to the Americas, was a religious gentleman who insisted that his crew “serve God daily” and “love another”. His ship, ironically called “the good ship Jesus,” left the shores of his native England for Africa in October 1562.
The church, especially the Roman Catholic and the Anglican Churches, had plantations with slaves working on them. For example, the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) – the world's oldest Anglican mission agency, owned several acres of slave plantations. It has been documented that the 800 acre Codrington slave plantation in Barbados was owned and operated by the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) during the 18th and 19th centuries.
One may ask, why would the church condone such barbaric acts as slavery? Well, the answer lies in the Bible the same way the answer for extremist Islamic terrorism in the world today lies in the Quran. Yes, slavery isn't just "normal" in the Bible. It is perfectly OK (or can be interpreted so) according to the scriptures. There are several chapters and verses supporting slavery in both the old and new testaments of the Bible.
Exodus 21 of the old testament of the Bible for example, gives clear instructions on how to treat a slave. Both Deuteronomy 20:10-14 and Leviticus 25:44-46 also give clear instructions on who should be slaves, how and where to buy slaves, etc.
Some Christians argue those chapters and verses are in the old testament and therefore don’t count but that is heresy. Also, there are several chapters and verses supporting slavery even in the New testament of the Bible. For example, the book of Ephesians 6:5 of the New Testament clearly states “Slaves, Obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ”. Not just that, 1 Timothy 6:1 of the New Testament also clearly states “Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed”. I can go on and on.
Slavery existed during the time of Jesus and continued after Jesus. Slavery got abolished nearly 2000 years after the death of Jesus. Jesus had every chance to speak against slavery. The question is, did he do it? And if Jesus did speak against slavery then why did his followers twist his words? If Jesus did speak against slavery then why does the New Testament of the Bible support slavery? And if the Bible got twisted along the way then does it make much sense for us to put our trust in it?
Now back to the question, "Is Christianity a slave religion?" Well, I am not that great with the Bible so I will leave that to the experts to answer.
Reverend Richard Furman, President of the South Carolina Baptist convention 1823 said, “The right of holding slaves is clearly established in the holy scriptures, both by precepts and by example”.
In a letter to the Emancipator in 1839, the Reverend Thomas Witherspoon of the Presbyterian church of Alabama in the USA wrote, “I draw my warrant from the scriptures of the old and new testaments to hold the slave in bondage”.
"The extracts from Holy Writ unequivocally assert the right of property in slaves"--Rev. E.D. Simms, professor, Randolph-Macon College.  I can go on and on.
So as we can see, the church and the early Christians saw nothing wrong with slavery and fully engaged themselves. Most churches and cathedrals owned several acres of slave plantations and owned several slaves. Even when slavery was abolished, most churches had to be compensated for setting their slaves free.
Yes, one of the ironies of the 1833 Slavery Abolition Act was that, it was slave owners, not the slaves, who were compensated at the emancipation of slaves. The Anglican Church received 8,823 pound sterling in compensation for its loss of over 400 slaves. The Bishop of Exeter, along with three of his colleagues received some 13,000 pounds in compensation for over 660 slaves. All these have been documented and I can go on and on.
Why so many black people love the church and the Bible? Well, that is a question I cannot answer all alone.

Commissioned
“As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with Him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.” Mark 5:18-19NIV
The first commissioned evangelist in the Bible— Demoniac, by name, had no desire to witness for Jesus. Like most of us Believers, he wanted to absorb the goodness of God, staying as close to Jesus as possible. After all, he too had an identity change, not being quite sure of what to do.
Consider for a moment Demoniac. Raised in an idol worshiping, pagan part of Israel, he was sent home to proclaim Christ as Lord. The livelihood of these Hellenistic Jews was pigs— (forbidden meat on the Jewish diet), and creating idols for sale. Demoniac couldn’t just go down to Mom’s house and ask how to witness. Every avenue of ministry, based on a short encounter with Christ Jesus had no directives, handbooks, or even Bible. Plus no hometown boys believed in the Torah or prophets— no help there.
Most Christians don’t witness about Jesus because they do not know how. I felt that way for a good portion of my Christian years. Being uncomfortable isn’t easy for any of us.
Lou and I have two daughters, who’ve never met strangers. They can strike up a conversation with anyone, making friends in zero to ten seconds. I stammer around not knowing exactly what to say for openers. Just saying anything outside of comments about the weather is scary. Yes, that’s operating out of fear. Whereas the girls have no fear and speak.
We’re living in times like Demoniac, idol worship is everywhere. Sin’s rampant. People think the Bible is out of style, useless, and mostly untrue or a book of weird stories. We must speak without fear, but in faith.
Jesus gave Demoniac the essence of evangelism— “tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.” When I took a class on one-on-one-evangelism we learned a few primary things.
***First, we can’t evangelize anyone if we don’t care about them. Praying for a heart of love for the lost— necessity. Realize, we may be the only Jesus each person will ever encounter. Christ loved Demoniac, going out of His way just to keep an appointment set by God. Jesus could’ve left the Hellenistic Jews lopped from Israel’s tree. Instead He went and loved one man to Himself.
***Second, after introducing ourselves an opener for conversation, with the lost is — ‘I sense Holy Spirit is telling me, you need prayer. How can I pray for you?’ (Everyone needs prayer.) Here’s where we’ll be rejected or invited into their world.
***Third, Believe in our hearts— God answers prayers. Then we can offer up to God thanksgiving for the person. Offer up to God a sincere heartfelt prayer for whatever their need is.
***Witnessing— Demoniac led a changed life in front of the people, obviously allowing everyone far and near to know the horrors of bondage versus the glories of freedom given by Christ. Mark 6:53-56 reveals how Demoniac’s neighbors felt when Jesus returned. V54-55 “…people recognized Jesus. They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard He was.”
Sometimes people will ask us why we are Believers. Be like Demoniac, telling them what a glorious change occurred through Christ’s salvation in our lives. Witnessing isn’t hard if we’ll love. Do you love the lost in your family? At your workplace? Where you socialize? The rest is easy with Christ… It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Lord God You know how even illegal it is becoming to witness for you. “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable Your servants to speak Your word with great boldness,” in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. (Acts4:29NIV(

Why Bibles Given to Slaves Omitted Most of the Old Testament
Tumblr media
When slavery was legal, its proponents often justified it with the Bible; specifically, a verse that tells servants to obey their masters. There were also a lot of verses that abolitionists could and did use to argue against slavery. But you wouldn’t find those in the heavily-redacted “Slave Bible.”
Most of the Old Testament is missing, and only about half of the New Testament remains. The reason? So that the enslaved Africans in the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, Barbados and Antigua couldn’t read or be read anything that might incite them to rebel.
The Slave Bible was actually titled Parts of the Holy Bible, selected for the use of the Negro Slaves, in the British West-India Islands.
It’s not clear who exactly directed these changes. British planters in the Caribbean had long been weary of missionaries, and could’ve demanded that they only teach enslaved people certain parts of the Bible. But some missionaries may have also believed that it was only appropriate to teach enslaved people excerpts that reinforced their enslaved status.
Whoever the Slave Bible’s editors were, “they’re really highlighting portions that would instill obedience,” says Anthony Schmidt, a curator at Washington, D.C. Museum of the Bible, which has a copy of the Slave Bible on display. There are only two other known copies.
The Slave Bible on display as part of an exhibition at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.
Tumblr media
The first Slave Bible was published in 1807, three years after the Haitian Revolution ended. That revolution was the only slave revolt in history in which enslaved people successfully drove out their European oppressors to formed a new nation, and it increased American and European paranoia that the people they oppressed would one day rise up against them.

The Haitian Revolution could have been a motivation for publishing a Bible without the part where Moses tells the Pharoah to “Let my people go.” Missionaries and planters may have thought that Christianity—at least, certain parts of it—would protect against revolutions by teaching enslaved people to respect their masters.
In this context, Schmidt says the British may have thought that teaching enslaved people Biblical lesson about obedience and accepting one’s fate would help them “be better slaves.”
The Slave Bible doesn’t include Moses leading the Israelites to freedom, but it does include Joseph’s enslavement in Egypt. In the U.S., some sermons aimed at enslaved people portrayed Joseph as someone who “accepts his lot in life, keeps his faith in God and in the end is rewarded for it,” Schmidt says. The Slave Bible may have wanted to impart a similar lesson to its audience.
Passages that emphasized equality between groups of people were also excised. This included: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). The Slave Bible also doesn’t contain the Book of Revelation, which tells of a new heaven and Earth in which evil will be punished.
In contrast, one of the passages that remained was one that proponents of slavery loved to cite: “Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ” (Ephesians 6:5).

ao3 wrapped
taken from here. i thought this would be fun!
1. How many words have you written this year?
i published 316,173 words this year, including the drabbles i only posted on tumblr. if i added wips... i dont even want to think about it.
2. How many works did you publish this year?
i wrote 62 tumblr drabbles and posted 31 works on ao3, amounting for a grand total of,, 93 works..... theres.. theres no way..... oh jesus christ
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
you know what i think it has to be hollow americana. i really wanted to write a fic that captured how i felt on roadtrips, and how empty a roadstop in a desert can feel. i wanted something that was haunting and melancholy and hung you up on all of the little details, and i think i pulled that off perfectly. its exactly what i wanted it to be
4. What work of yours has the most hits?
this year home intrusion got 4,033 hits, which i guess makes sense, since its batfam and also not a part of the jdau.
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
ummm all of the jdau, basically. it was such a niche idea and i really just wrote it because i was fucking obsessed with harvey and jason and tfz and its amassed more of a following than i expected it to
6. Favorite title you used
i like “son of dent” because its a direct reference to traditional jewish headstones and i think im soo clever for that, and i love “hollow americana” because it fits the energy of that fic so well. i think “like an oil-stained phoenix” is pretty good, if a little pretentious, but my favorite is definitely “the mystery of the old boathouse” because i really really wanted a title that references old mystery books i grew up reading and ties into the detective au theme, and it fits well!
7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
i dont think i ever used song lyrics for anything other than like. titles. i hope i didnt anyway. i know “sharp edges” in “lost days” is a linkin park song, and “temporal shenanigans” is part of the homestuck soundtrack. thats literally it tho
8. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?
i dont even have to look to know that it was bruharv.
9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?
actually probably jason/nico. theeen bruharv
10. What work was the quickest to write?
one of the drabbles im sure. sometimes i just shit those bitches right out and theyre often under 1k so its liek. lol
11. What work took you the longest to write?
fucking level 2. unless you count the jdau series as a single work, in which case, that
12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
one :’) just the one. and im not sure yet if ill keep it
13. What’s your longest work of the year?
i dont even have to look to know that its level 2. level 2 is 126,596 words and 23 chapters long and its my biggest regret
14. What’s your shortest work of the year?
one of the drabbles im sure. but on ao3 its out of sight, a very very short harvmatches drabble i posted before i started posting drabbles on tumblr
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
theee only one in my docs. wdym. its supposed to be another part of the jdau, which i guess is also a massive wip? but i dont like to think of it as that
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
im sure it was fucking “Harvey Dent Adopts Jason Todd” this year
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
harvey and 2f clearly, theyre like babygirls to me. but writing jason (grace and todd) is also very cool
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
bruce. that insufferable old whore. maybe if dc could just stop being stupid and give him af ucking consistent characterization, i wouldnt have so many PROBLEMS. im out here merging different sources like its a game. build your own bruce. i hate it here.
but also harvey ive done so much goddamn research to try and write him right and i sitll worry all the time that its not enough
19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?
personally i want to explore some bitches /j
no but like idk man im really tired and writings been really hard lately and ill be happy to just write anything and feel good about it after
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
i reread the stupid jdau all the time just so i dont fuck up the next installment
21. How many kudos in total did you get this year?
3,145, apparently!
22. Which work has the most comments?
level 2 has the most comments at 31. which is kind of surprising, because it did not do very well otherwise!
23. Did you do any collaborative works this year?
nope
24. Did you write any gifts this year?
i wrote literally dozens of requests which are all sort of gifts i think, but in terms of literal gifts on ao3, i gave @roomfulloferidans many
25. Did you receive any gifts this year?
nope. things were not written for me nor was i given an Ao3 Gift(TM). but eri drew some very nice pictures for me! they drew equius from ammfh and my ocs and i have them saved on my computer so i can come back and look at them all the time
26. What’s your most common category?
its M/M because im gay and i think men are hot
27. What do you listen to while writing?
i listen to white noise if im really struggling to focus, otherwise ill loop a playlist or a single song. its switched around a ton over the year but right this second im looping an arcadian wild playlist i made that has other bands with similar sounds on it in addition to the entire arcadian wild discography
28. Favorite work you wrote this year?
also hollow americana, for reasons i already said
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
bro. im grabbing you by the shoulders right now. i wrote 300k words. i promise you i do not know the answer to that.
i know i like some of the headcanon stuff i put in starting over and hollow americana has a lot of good lines but i cant think beyond that even tho there are probably some real bangers because i wrote 300k words and i cant remember all of them
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
now. this may blow your mind. but. did you know. that if you dont like your ocs. you can just... get rid of them. and start over? still reeling from that one tbh

It is so very fun to think about eternal duo being enemies before they became friends.
Like, it’s a great image. Totem of Death, Foolish Gamers, who brings deaths nd destruction where ever he goes whether it be for money, sport or revenge has a petty rivalry with Eret, blood relative of Herobrine and a reckless cryptic willing to kill just for shits and giggles.
It’s one of my favorite things.

“Eret is the bad guy.” yeah Yeah yeah come back when you have something original. “ErEt Is ThE bAd GuY” Like we don’t hear that every god damn week Jesus Christ. Why is it always “Eret is the bad guy”’or “Eret is the traitor” and never “Eret is the good monarch” or “Eret is the upstanding person” or “Eret is the great person” huh?

Book asks: 1, 2, 3, 9, 16, 24?
thank you!
How many books did you read this year? (1) 26! i'll finish at least one more before the year officially ends, i think (i'm halfway through the goblin emperor atm), and maybe another novella or so. it's not a crazy high number, but after reading exactly two (2) books in 2020 i'm happy with building my reading muscles back up. Did you reread anything? What? (2) the silmarillion, only 5% for spite-based reasons. i find rereading tolkien to be very rewarding, and i always get something new out of his works when i revisit them over time. i think this reread was the closest i've ever been to really getting the feanorian girlies! i also experienced many elrond emotions, but that just happens every time i reread tolkien. What were your top five books of the year? (3) this was tough, how do people who read like 100 books a year pick top 5s. anyway, in no particular order: - the teixcalaan duology (a memory called empire/a desolation called peace) by arkady martine - nona the ninth (the locked tomb #3) by tamsyn muir - nettle & bone by t kingfisher - piranesi by susanna clarke - spinning silver by naomi novik i know i'm cheating a bit here by bundling the teixcalaan books together, but i read them in one go and they feel like one story. to me. in my heart. Did you get into any new genres? (9)
i'm stretching the definition of genre here a bit (not the cheating again!), but i started picking up 'domestic' untranslated lit (by which i mean literature written by authors from former yugoslav countries, written in serbo-croatian-bosnian-montenegrin jesus christ. can't have simple answers in the balkans) more this year after years of reading almost exclusively in english. it's been an... experience. modern balkan lit is depressing.
What is the most over-hyped book you read this year? (16)
'circe' by madeline miller, thanks for also giving me a softball of a question. it's a readable book and i was able to get through it quickly but i found it really simplistic and the characters super one-note. 'eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man' level feminism.
Did you DNF anything? Why? (24)
i put down 'there once lived a woman who tried to kill her neighbor's baby' by ludmilla petrushevskaya, but this was a soft dnf, and i intend to go back to it. it's a short story collection and i stopped between stories, so pretty doable. most of the stories are bleak and many of them a little surreal, and i just picked it up at the wrong time.
end-of-the-year book ask!

11/30/2022 DAB Chronological Transcription
1 Corinthians 5-8
Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible Chronological, I'm China. Today is the 30th day of November, welcome. Well, here we are, you guys. We are at the very end of the month of November. It is insane. Past has gone by, but here we are, and we have one more month left together reading the Bible chronologically. And whether this is your first year or I don't even know, multiple years of reading the Bible just straight through or chronologically, I hope you feel so one, like, accomplished, because I truly do think that reading the Bible should be something that Christians and Christ followers are doing frequently and daily, as it is our daily bread. And I know sometimes too, that doesn't always happen. But whether you've been here every single day or you've played catch up or you skipped to catch up, you're here. And the Lord is faithful and he's good and he's kind. And so, yeah, I hope that you are having a good week and that you are really truly feeling the hope of Jesus and the hope of our Savior and just hopeful about whatever is going on in your life. Any situations that are feeling without hope may today just be a turning point and say, you know what? Maybe these past few days haven't been very hopeful or I've forgotten to put my attention there. This week isn't over. We are still in the week of hope. And so may you just really center your eyes there. So today we are continuing on in the book of 1st Corinthians, chapter five through eight, continuing on with the Voice Translation.
Commentary
Sometimes I have a hard time with Paul's scriptures, and maybe if I actually understood who he was and knew him, I would be able to have a better understanding for sure. But some things that he says are just so dang black and white that I'm like, interesting, interesting perspective. You know, like the whole singleness thing, I just feel like that's super black and white. It's like, either get married and you're like, yeah, you're blessed, but be single and you are super Megablessed. It's like what? Wait, I'm out. I hear what you're saying. I hear the point that you're making, but it's something where you're like, be like me. And I'm like, okay, we're having another John situation here, aren't we? The one whom Jesus loved? But I definitely hear what he's saying. I think people have, I'm sure, better thoughts and formulated opinions than I do about all, and I don't really have a problem with him. I think sometimes he's so black and white that it's like, okay, can I introduce you to some color? Which I'm sure is how people in my life feel about me. My brain is very black and white as well, but in this circumstance of talking about sexual morality, I do think that it's good what he's saying. I know that traditional viewpoints are not popular anymore now. Like, where we have people confused about what gender they are and trying to claim that there's just an attack from the enemy on our identity and who we are made in the image of God, right? And so we see this in so many different areas where an example is like an attack truly on identity. So much so that you could claim to be a different gender than when you were born or that you are without gender and that's just not how God created it. And I'm doing exactly what Paul said. I'm not going to do you a disservice and not tell you the truth. This is the truth and I'm telling it to you in love. And so we see that attack, we see the attack on family with I saw something years ago that said the enemy will try to drive a couple together so much before they get married and then try to drag them apart once they are married. And I was like, yeah, I can definitely see that for sure. And so I do think in the church we need people talking more about this topic. It's uncomfortable. And really there's only one person that I can think of off the top of my head that her and her husband have a podcast and they have done some really great work and honest conversations about talking about topics that no one really wants to talk about because they're uncomfortable and like, will I have vulnerability hangover after this? Or does this protect me or people are going to think less of me afterwards, just different things like that. And I get it, I understand. And at the same time, keeping things in the dark continues to keep things in the dark and it actually is just an invitation for other people to keep in the dark too. So I do think that there's a lot of value in what he's saying. But when I was talking about traditional values where it's like the man is the head of the home and the wife is his partner and is submitting to him. There's a war on that right now even where there's this kind of like awakening where the woman should be strong, independent woman. And that resonates with me because I'm strong, I'm very independent, but I also know my place biblically and I know my place in the role of a household and the role of family and what God has orchestrated. And so I can still be strong, I can still have my independence, but when it's outside of what God has ordained, I'm actually out of the line and not allowing my husband to live in the identity that God has called and created him to as well. And so I will say that. And so I'm kind of leading into what I feel like may rub people the wrong way about what Paul says about sex and about intimacy, where it's like your body doesn't belong to you and your spouse's body doesn't belong to them and basically like any time they ask like you should be able to have it. I think the point that he is trying to make here is if you are going to deny it, it's better to give because there could be temptation outside of being like no. And so I think that could be a tricky slope because it's like, wait, time out. You're saying that if I say no to my spouse like they're going to go and look for other places? They shouldn't right?. But also I don't know, I don't want to say like an X amount of time because I don't feel like that's my space. But I don't also think if this is what Paul is trying to say, then I don't agree with it. But every time your spouse is in the mood, I don't think you have to say yes. I just don't think that that's real. I think consent is still real in marriage and even just being super vulnerable, even during if you're like, hey, I'm just not feeling like you should be able to say that and there has to be respect for it. And all my postpartum mom said amen, that is real and that makes you uncomfortable, I'm sorry but there are some things that just don't get talked about in the Capital C churc. And I'm not going to air out all of my things either just because it's like if you have questions we can chat, but also like that it is a huge vulnerability thing. But anyways, all this to say, I hear where Paul is coming from, I think what he's saying is rooted in goodness and sometimes his delivery is a little too intense for me and I feel like I'm intense, I'm black and white. But he does say like, hey, it's kind of like a disclaimer on his end. I do believe that I'm hearing from the Lord in this. And so yeah, maybe we don't only know that's a big deal to claim Christ behind what you're saying. And so I don't think that he would be someone who would abuse it. I really believe that he his heart is good and true.
Prayer
So Lord, I just thank you for your word today. I thank you for the insights and the wisdom that you gave Paul and ultimately God, I thank you that his heart was that people would be well and that people would seek you and put you first. And God, really, anything can be made into idols in modern day. Like, you know it, you see it. Family can become idolized, a marriage can become idolized, our children can be idolized or our job positions. Really anything that we are putting before you is misplaced. And so, God, I pray that there would just be a level of humility in our hearts and recognize that from you are all things. And so we want to give to you all things. And so just understanding that we should hold things in a place of surrender and gosh, how tricky that is as you're showing me that. But God, I pray that we'd be people who are just aware of the things of your kingdom and just be aware that when we are kingdom minded there is a kingdom of darkness who ultimately wants after us too. And so we just see the areas of where the enemy has tried to come in, where he's trying to attack on family and marriage and even intimacy. And I just thank you that you set people's words and actions in motion long ago that would transcend all the way till now that would still have a rippling effect of holiness and just wholeness. And so God, I pray that if we are married or if we are single that we would seek you first, that we would ask you do you have marriage for me? And God, I thank you that you give us the desires of our hearts. You place the desires in our hearts and then you fulfill the desires in our hearts. And so I pray that we would seek you out, that we would truly be in dependence with you, God, that we would depend on you for the questions to ask and the answers to fulfill them. And yeah, I just thank you for the people who are married in this community. God bless their marriage and their unity. I speak hope and love and joy and peace and patience, gentleness, kindness and faithfulness and selfcontrol. And God, I just pray that your peace would fill each and every single home, that you have the ability to give that much peace, that much love. And God, that you would steward relationships well, that you would cultivate them well, that communication would be pure and pure and the Holy Spirit would stand guard over each and every single mouth in homes. And yeah, I thank you God, that it's not too late to have these moments kindled in marriages. And God, I just pray over the singles that they would truly desire you first. God, you know, you know that I did not wait patiently, that I did not wait perfectly, but that I waited upon you and I really sought you out. And so I just pray that people would understand that that's the most important thing, most important thing is not to be married and to have children, although that's what you've created us for. And so I believe that your answer would be yes, if that's what we desire. But God, I pray that that wouldn't be what our heart is so set on that we are missing the things of you and that we aren't even consulting you or praying or asking you. And so I pray that you would be the center of it all and it's in your name we pray, amen.

Hi DAB DABC family. This is one beloved daughter. I am calling on behalf of a friend who lives in Cape Down, South Africa. Her name happens to be Jasmine Thompson. No relation, of course, but we've been friends for years online here. And she is a Christian, but she's very, very poor normally has no place to go, no heat, no in the winter, it's not cool in the summer, no place to go, no food. Lost her mother a few years ago, has her son, who they have a great relationship normally, but now he has a girlfriend. They have a baby. And the girlfriend now has kind of turned her son against her because I don't know what the problem is with the girlfriend, but she is against Joseline Jazz. Other siblings aren't nice to her, so she doesn't have really any love in her in her life. She just she has this very sorrowful life. She's crying all the time. She's very, very sad. But she has so much strong faith in the Lord. Never complains. I mean, I'm just in awe of her faithfulness to the Lord. And she cannot connect to apps like DAB and so forth. And so I just ask you to please, please pray for her. Pray for her to be able to connect to DAB and resources and send people in her life to show her the love of Jesus so she's not alone and sitting just only over there in her suffering. My time is up, but please pray for everything the Lord will lead you to. Thank you so much. I love you.
Good Afternoon Daily Audio Bible Community this is Diane Allison, and Jeff Brown calling on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. And I'm calling to respond to Brian from London. And this is just a prayer request. And what I wanted to say was I just love Daily Audio Bible. I love you. And I'm answering on chronological what Jill was speaking about in the Book of Galatians, the first three chapters. I love, love, love the Book of Galatians. And here's my favorite verse in the Book of Galatians. I have been crucified with Christ. Nevertheless I live. Yet it is not I who live, it is Christ who lives within me and the life that I now live in the flesh. I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. And I want you all to know that I pray for everybody, but I only respond to one person usually each day. And I want to respond to Daniel from the United Kingdom. You have a deep voice and you pray. The prayer I got from the Lord in the last few months asking, you shall receive, seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. And it is Pat. My friend gave me that and I was crying. I called her and I was crying. I don't know how, I don't know how. She said yes. You do. She said, just take scriptures. The Lord gives you and meditate on them.
Hi, DABC family, this is God's child. I just finished listening to the recording reporting on the 24th and I was so encouraged by Diana from Indiana's prayer for those battling with mental illness. I personally deal with a lot of anxiety and I was so encouraged by her prayer, so I just wanted to pray alongside with her. Heavenly Father, I thank you so much for my dear sister, thank you that you placed this prayer that she prayed for those dealing with mental illness, but I just want to pray alongside with her. I pray that you would touch any and everyone in this ministry and this platform dealing with the sickness or any emotional instability. Lord, I personally deal with worry and fear. And Lord, I just ask that she would touch our hearts and our minds, and that you would bring healing on Lord Jesus, and that you will cast out every fear and every anxiety for God. The word says that you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and a sound mind. And Lord, I just claimed this in my life. And also I pray also for anyone dealing with anxiety or depression. I thank you, Lord Jesus, for hearing my prayer. And the prayer is owed.

LORD’S DAY, THE DAY OF HIS RETURN, May 15, 2026
The voice that John heard while he was in the Spirit of the Lord's Day announces the appointed time of the end.
REVELATION 1:10, 3, 7-8
(10) I was in the Spirit on the LORD'S DAY, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
(3) …hear the words of this prophecy… for the TIME is at HAND.
(7) Behold, HE COMETH with clouds; and every eye shall see him…
(8) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending… which is to come, the Almighty.
The following passages attest that God will indeed reveal to His appointed people the exact day of His return.
REVELATION 4:1 …the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me… I will SHEW THEE THINGS which must be HEREAFTER.
1 TIMOTHY 6:14, 15
(14) That thou keep this commandment… until the APPEARING of our Lord JESUS CHRIST:
(15) Which IN HIS TIMES he shall SHEW…
Herewith, God’s people, who were the children of light, exactly knew the coming of Christ, and it will not overtake them like a thief in the night.
1 THESSALONIANS 5:2, 4-5
(2) For yourselves know perfectly that the DAY of the LORD so COMETH as a thief in the night.
(4) But ye, brethren, are NOT IN DARKNESS, that that DAY should overtake you as a THIEF.
(5) Ye are all the CHILDREN of LIGHT… we are NOT of the NIGHT, nor of darkness.
The prophecy concerning the acceptable time refers to the day of salvation, which is exactly at the Second Coming of Christ.
ISAIAH 49:8, 10
(8) …In an ACCEPTABLE TIME have I heard thee, and in a DAY OF SALVATION have I helped thee…
(10) They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them…
REVELATION 7:16, 17
(16) They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
(17) For the Lamb which is in the midst of the THRONE shall feed them…
2 CORINTHIANS 6:2 …I succoured thee: behold, now is the ACCEPTED TIME; behold, now is the DAY OF SALVATION.
Moreover, the acceptable time, which corresponds to the acceptable year of the Lord, was proclaimed on the Sabbath day, when Christ read the book of Isaiah concerning the anointing of the Messiah.
LUKE 4:16, 18-19, 21
(16) …he went into the synagogue on the SABBATH DAY, and stood up for to read.
(18) …anointed me to preach the gospel… to preach DELIVERANCE to the captives… to set at LIBERTY them that are bruised,
(19) To preach the ACCEPTABLE YEAR of the Lord.
(21) …THIS DAY is this SCRIPTURE FULFILLED in your ears.
Hereby, the “Lord’s Day” signifies both the Sabbath day and the appointed day of Christ’s return, for He will come in like manner as He ascended into heaven, which was on a Sabbath day as well.
ACTS 1:11, 12
(11) …this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so COME IN LIKE MANNER as ye have seen him GO INTO HEAVEN.
(12) Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet… a SABBATH DAY'S JOURNEY.
God placed the exact year of His return in the Sabbath, which is the most explicit truth of God’s appointed time.
EXODUS 20:8-11
6 – SIX days (verse 9)
7 – SEVENTH day (verse 10)
13 – SIX days, SEVENTH day (verse 11)
6 + 7 + 13 = 26
2,000 – SABBATH DAY’S journey (Acts 1:11-12, Joshua 3:3-4, Numbers 35:5)
2,000 + 26 = 2026
MATTHEW 12:8 For the SON of man is LORD even of the SABBATH DAY.
MARK 1:15 The TIME IS FULFILLED, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT ye, and BELIEVE the gospel.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
