Jet, Katara and Zuko met in college during a gen ed ethics class. Katara organized the study group, Zuko offered his oversized apartment for study sessions and Jet provided the liquid courage that got the three of them in bed together one night.

They passed their exams with flying colors but Katara and Jet haven’t slept in their own dorms in weeks.

I just remembered that the live action had Jet and Katara pretend to be married in Omashu. I hope that in season two, Jet shows up to fight Zuko at the tea shop at the same time Katara sees Zuko and Iroh there, and everyone thinks Katara's husband and ex-boyfriend are fighting over her.
