For once I appreciate Ted hyping up a skater. This is a huge achievement for a kid from non-existant skating fed, and he hasn't let anyone down, he is just a kid shouldering the expectations of being the first from his country...

There are small kids in the rink today and the mood at junior pairs practice is amazing. They are cheering so loud every time anything is happening on the ice it's great. And tbh the junior pairs deserve more love and hype than they're getting

The christmas trees are actually kind of cute. And the medals look like real medals this year! Congrats to the junior women 🎉✨

A very subjective ranking for the junior women, from worst to best
Yihan Wang had good-ish choreo and was clean but really lost steam in the step sequence which was slow, tentative and looked like she was forgetting some steps. Stunning bielmann fast and centered.
Stefania Gladki skates nice but a bit small (recurring problem for the Panova skaters). Hated the music but she did well.
Kaoruko Wada seemed stressed but skating skills are a dream. Would love a tiny bit more performance but it will come.
Yuseong Kim really surprised me. I wasn't expecting that level of presentation or skating skills. She was calm, serene and kept the flow going. Doesn't reach the level of the top three but rooting for her to make it to the podium.
Ami Nakai had perhaps the best performance in terms of presentation. Her feel for the music is really something. Also @volchitsa-of-winterfell is right couldn't hear her blades, not even a thing... Unfortunately her jumps are all kind of scary looking irl. The axis is wobbly and there's something about the rotation that scares me.
Mao Shimada is in a league of her own (and outscored the seniors). I was expecting her to be good... I did not expect her to be that good. She has it all. Jumps skating skills posture spins. And the charisma. Defying Gravity was one of the highlights of the day.
