hi there! could you rec fics written shortly after the events of Tithonus and Scully being shot? whether recovery is the focus or it's just a background thing she has to deal with on a new case because she hasn't yet fully recovered. thank you so much!

Aw, I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it. (I kind of really did.) But it sounds like you’re taking it in stride…? Like, laughing about it is indeed probably the best approach, heh.

Oops, I forgot about one thing. The one thing that actually really bothers me about the whole thing is that Stefan even flipped the switch. Like no one would have known any difference if he just faked it. His goal was to get Caroline alone and push her until she flipped it back. He got confirmation that he was her emotional trigger. So why not fake the switch, push her limits continually and manipulate her until he gets her in a compromising position and gets her someplace where he can isolate her and then go to work?

I mean there is no blinking NO HUMANITY radar that goes off. A ton of people were predicting it because to not go with that option is just stupid. Especially Stefan of all people who know how uncontrollable and murderous he is in this condition.

Fandom is focus. Fandom is obsession. Fandom is insatiable consumption. Fandom is sitting for hours in front of a TV screen a movie screen a computer screen with a comic book a novel on your lap. Fandom is eyestrain and carpal tunnel syndrome and not enough exercise and staying up way, way past your bedtime.

I was feeling nostalgic and realized that I've been involved in fandom in some way for about half my life now. I've met some of my best friends through fandom, fandom is a good part of the reason I'm living in NYC under these circumstances (I met my roomie thegleekonfiyah at Chris Colfer's Union Square book signing in 2012), and really pushed me into pursing writing/film as a career. So yeah. While there are definite downsides, fandom is awesome.

👽 Random X-Files Fic Rec

Mulder and Scully are sent off on a case, and Krycek is up to no good (or is he?). There is a good amount of tension because Mulder and Scully are both getting used to having the X-Files again, Skinner continues to try to find his way, and Scully continues to heal (physically and emotionally) from being shot in "Tithonus." It is a wonderful mess of people, emotions, and danger. Title: Argus Author: Jintian (@jinjoint) Summary: Mulder and Scully investigate a series of murders involving someone from Krycek's past. Aw, I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it. (I kind of really did.) But it sounds like you’re taking it in stride…? Like, laughing about it is indeed probably the best approach, heh.

Heh, yeah I'm not real torn up about it. I mean this is Vampire Diaries and all relationships are handled in the same basic framework. This was like the bookend of the Damon/Elena sire bond nonsense. Like 5% of me believed that they miiiiiiight do something different with these two.

Instead I'm mostly amused and feeling the might of the snark. On multiple angles and with some of fandom's attitudes. Guess I'm here for the Bonnie of it all at this point. Which damn, she was incredibly badass and awesome in this episode as well as last week. I love that she isn't playing the higher road yet again. You look out for yourself, you give what's due! The situation she left Kai in legit made me cackle.

Well that and PDub chewing the hell out of some scenery. He must have been fist pumping over getting to be the Rippeh again. I bet that is how they got him to compromise into doing another shirtless scene, snort.
