over the horizon is the great machine of death
a/n: chapter 212 gutted me, like I'm sure it did to many others. I wrote this immediately after, but had to wait for further chapters to make sure that my guesses were mostly correct. I don't think gege will kill maki (... knock on wood. knocking on so much wood, going to redwood forest to kiss a blessedly tall tree), so I decided not to wait any longer. This piece is consistent with the rest of the "my younger years" fic chain. Title comes from The Curtain
summary: you knew that there was nothing you could do, but there really is nothing you can do. ghosts will keep pealing away the last pieces that matter
c/w: spoilers, the whole thing is spoilers, parent-child relationship between reader and the fushiguro siblings
Tumblr media
"Hello?"
Up north, it is already cold. Over the blue slate cliffs, grey clouds press down like the palm of god. Hello rises up to meet them, dissipating all too quickly.
You know who it is. You hope - no you wish because what good is hope for a sorcerer - for good news while hello drifts in the air. Too many other options wait for their dark names to be spoken out loud.
Maki is very quiet on the end of the line.
In that long moment, everything is alright.
"We lost Megumi."
She says it without inflection, and the first thing you think of is her sister. Nothing would be able to compare to losing the other half of yourself, the person who had been with you for the entire arch of your life.
"What to you mean 'lost'?"
It's a stupid question. You've gotten this call before. Lost means gone means dead, but lost also means slipped out of your pocket, set somewhere out of sight, don't know where it went, might find it between the couch cushions later.
Megumi was once that small. Satoru had sat on him, muffling his furious outrage, pretending not to know where he was when you tried to ask Megumi what he wanted to wear on his weekend field trip. Tsumiki had played along, told you his bags were already packed. You'd found out from the pictures that Satoru had kept you from finding a kumamon bucket hat, little black ears poking from the brim. Megumi wore it and a put upon expression in almost every photo from the trip.
Take your lives
Had they encountered... the colonies weren't impossible to enter but surely the thing wearing stolen skin wouldn't risk joining the cull. And together he and Yuuji should be able to handle a special grade curse. Megumi had mentioned the bridge in an abbreviated text and the students' mission reports said the rest.
He would only have refused to listen if Tsumiki was...
"Whe-"
"It was Sukuna." Maki's voice carries the edges of anger.
"What happened to Yuuji?" you ask, incredulous. He'd had it under control, even at three quarters cursed.
"He's fine."
"How can he be fine? Maki, what happened?"
And she tells you, stopping and starting again as she finds the words. You imagine you hear a shiver in her voice to match the roar and creak of ice as it springs up from nothing, dries out the city for three blocks around the epicenter.
What had been the last thing you'd said to him?
You'd said a lot over the years. For all of Megumi's resistance to being burdened by others he took on a lot. There had been a time when you thought he didn't like you talking, but when you had fallen silent for too long, he would ask some question or press close to add his hands to yours in whatever you were doing. Always afraid to ask for too much.
"Tsumiki is lost too?" you ask, even though you already know the answer.
His sister was possibly the only person in the world for whom Megumi would first think to live.
There's a murmured interlude on the other side of the phone. You force your feet to move, take you further up the slope, keeping the crash of the ocean in your ears. You can't blunder about blindly. The boundaries out here cut cell signal as easily as they do perception. No amount of boosting the bricky satellite phone's capabilities is going to fix that.
"She's one of the reincarnated players now," Maki says, and it takes a great of amount of self control not to break something or scream into the cold sea-salted wind.
Tsumiki who had never been sure if she wanted magic to be real or not, who let her brother go out with someone who was barely an adult, whom she forced herself to trust even when her brother returned with dull eyes and slumped shoulders. Tsumiki who wanted to believe that there was good in the world anyways, that maybe there was something sacred and precious about a world that would have thrown her away without a thought, the strongest of you all for keeping her heart alive.
"Are you still in--?"
"Yeah." You're trembling, insides gone shaky and cold. Distantly, you know this is shock and that you should get moving before Maki hears it. "I have a meeting with one of their captains in the morning, if I can make it in time."
Hokkaido is peaceful, readying itself for winter. In the morning, frost crackled across the windows of the wheezing, ancient car you bought for cash off some farmer at the coast. You had to abandon the car to walk the rest of the way to the barrier, but you were reassured by some bowing attendant, who had taken the keys with as much reverence as if they belonged to the seven geared monstrosity Satoru had bought for you, that the antique you'd arrived in would be well cared for as you braved the Ainu trials.
"Good luck," Mai says gravely.
"You too," you say quietly.
You hope that somewhere on the other side, Yuuji can hear you. You don't know what comes next for them, the plan insofar blown beyond hell, but they will need it when they go to bring the bodies back.
You share another long silence with her. You'd looked forward to teaching her. Only age and experience and the fading words of someone long gone had given you anything she didn't already have, but you'd looked forward to seeing her only get better, to tallying the matches between her and Yuuta and seeing if you could find Toge something that suited his gentle hands.
You'd looked forward to a lot of things.
The line goes dead with a tiny click.
One leaden step after another, you turn away from the cliffs.
It's too much. Surely all of this is more than one person will have to bear in their lifetime. No wonder sorcerers die young.
The giggle that escapes your mouth has you wobbling sideways, hand going to the rough bark of a tall pine spearing upwards. Its stripped trunk creaks higher above you. If you wanted, you could pull that movement through the trunk and shatter the whole thing from the crown to roots.
You grip your head, fingers tight against your scalp, heel of your palm pressed to your temple. Get it together. But all you can see are the kids, yours and not yours - bright eyed weekends at cafes and book shops with Tsumiki, sharing late evening teas with Megumi while he honed the focus needed to maintain his summons, their subdued delight when Satoru swung them high in his arms, the tug of a hand at your sleeve when you changed a record on the turntable.
The shaking in your body has to go somewhere and with your legs feeling weak, the tremors escape through your mouth, pilling together until they escape as an unstoppable laugh. Your other hand comes up to grip your head too, as though to keep your mind contained inside.
For the first time since that single terrible dream, you want Satoru out of the box, if only so he could lay eyes on Megumi and Tsumiki and tell you if there was any hope left at all. But just as quickly, you are again you're glad he's not, because he'd take it on himself to look their familiar bodies in the eye and lay them to rest.
Laughter is a poor wrapper for such a bitter pastille, but you can't seem to stop throwing it out in plumes of steam.
If you had been born without your curse, you'd never know about any of this at all. Even losing it all now to a sorcerer's inevitable end, from a place so far you cannot even imagine doing more than you already are, you should be grateful, you are grateful, that this was yours for even a moment.
You are your anger, and that empty, echoing, hollow place inside of you seems only to grow further with every gasping howl. Something worse is cracking loose. Your eyes sting with it.
There is no other world where you do not lose them. There is only this, and the sudden empty void where that boy and that girl, who you had once helped raise, have finally met their worse than normal ends.
Somehow, that thought is what is most unbearable, bad enough to cut sound from your throat.
Even though you want so badly for it to be possible (and so far away from where it happened maybe you can be allowed to want, just for a moment), even Satoru had said the odds of another vessel like Yuuji were incredibly slim, once in a thousand years slim.
If there was any single miracle in the world, it would bring back Fushiguro Megumi. But for all its magic, neither world he belonged to had ever trafficked much in miracles.

JUJUTSU KAISEN - Chapter 215
Tumblr media
That chapter hurt me so badly. I'm all glomyy (help me).
The world of this manga do not spared us, and unfortunatly the main character is not a exception. Please let have mercy. A umpteenth defeat, his last best friend... Yes I’m mad.
It is not a spoiler that Sukuna is the king of the Bastards *cough* Curses, who doesn't take Yuji seriously. He underestimates him (or doesn't he?) because in the end, Itadori loses, again a lot, which won't allow him to preserve his mental health and neither mine. Many shots illustrated this weakness of our dear boy. For this time, Yuji was not our shining sun.
Indeed, Ryomen was surprised many times in Chapter 214 by Itadori, just watch his regeneration, but this time the surprise was ✨Maki✨. Her glow up allowed her to stand up to a weakened (but still) Sukuna. On this picture, we can clearly see that both are on the same wavelength while Yuji is late (that’s what I directly felt when I read the board).
Tumblr media
Okay I still mad with this chapter, I need to rest. See you in a few days. To be continued…

MAJOR Spoilers for JJK anime watchers and readers that are not up to date with the manga
IMAGINE Sukuna in chapters 212, 213, 214 & 215, but make him a yandere for reader
It’s about damn, fucking time. That Itadori brat has had his use, and at this point he was becoming more of a prison than a vessel. Although dumb, weak and naive, that brat did one thing right only.
He could restrain him.
Every.single.fucking.time.
Sukuna had tried more than a couple of times to catch you off guard. When you turned around, when you were too focused to notice your surroundings, when you stayed over to sleep at the brat’s, when you were too weak and exhausted to fight, or simply anytime Ryomen Sukuna desired.
And each single fucking time, the damn brat stopped him.
But now, now that was a thing of the past. A nuisance he no longer had to deal with. Not as he had the body of Megumi Fushigoro under his control, and with a single punch to the gut that weakling was done with.
Sukuna laughed, his eyes wide and mad, his pupils dilated and his toothy grin wicked.
About. Damn. Fucking. Time.
His four eyes shot towards your shaking form, too horrified and scared by the events that unfolded before your beautiful, [e/c] eyes. Oh, after he fully assembles to this body and commit a rejuvenating mass bloodshed, he will have all the time of the day to look into those gorgeous [e/c] eyes.
He has no shame in admitting he loves it when they are filled with fear, and he wonders, how will it feel when he sees them full of lust? Ooh, it would be a sight to behold.
Right now, as he has you shaking against his abdomen, Sukuna Ryomen is satisfied. This had been a good start for the real good days to come.
“We have sooo much to catch up on, darlin’” He cooed at them in a condescing, sweetly mocking tone, relishing at the thought of making them all his own.
“We’re gonna have all the fun in the word”
a/n: a lil’ drabble of a concept i’ve been building over the past few days, inspired by the latest chapters. I was thinking on doing two yandere sukuna fics under this concept

If we go at about an average of 3-4 chapters per episode in season 3 of JJK, I think the ideal episode count would be 24/25. That way they could end it right after Sukuna body transfers and the fight with Maki and Yuji.
That's chapter 215 btw.
Season 3 would start off at the zenin estate, chapter 138. And opens up with that fucker, Naoya.
That totals at 77 chapters. (How ominous lol.)

JJK chapter 215 spoilers!
I don't care what you think of Gege as a mangaka, but this you can't oppose: Gege rarely ever includes something of no significance to the story, especially in the latest chapters since they plan to cut to the chase and finish the jjk manga this year.
Which makes me wonder why they included Sukuna and Uraume making fun of Yuuji for looking like a certain someone. Sure, that panel might simply be there to show Sukuna and Uraume's relationship dynamic, but that doesn't have to be the only reason.
Tumblr media
This could be significant for Yuuji's character seeing that in the world of jujutsu sorcerers one's bloodline is very important. Sukuna didn't just say that Yuuji looked like that Harima guy, but Gege emphasised the similarity by having those two compare Yuuji's and the guy's mouth shape and Sukuna saying once again that they look exactly like each other.
I might be reading too much into this and I'd definitely rather have Yuuji gradually develop the skill and rightfully earn it instead of getting a crazy power up. However, Yuuji's ancestry would explain Kenjaku's past too and why exactly they chose Kaori (or Itadori family, Kaori's technique might have been an accidental benefit).
What do you guys think of this?
For everyone wondering, I read the manga on this site:

gege akutami is a menace to society actually
in case you haven't read, I'm talking about 215, so you can ignore me when you're ready
*
*
*
*
he saw us have a little hope last week and had to send us tumbling again 😢
it's going to be a tough ride for sure ~
I honestly don't know how they'll be able to handle sukuna at full form bc even with the limitations, he was still countering. It'd be even worse if he's willing to work with kenjaku too. For some reason (denial), I have a feeling megumi's going to overcome this. I won't comment more on that because i feel like i'll spiral (cannot believe maki said its weird seeing megumi's face on someone being strong 😭) On another note, sukuna and co's eventual defeat will be worthwhile for how much suffering they've caused and will cause. Sukuna's choice to leave yuji alive will definitely come back to bite him, but it's interesting that his joy comes from seeing yuji suffer and look pathetic than giving him death. He despises everything about yuji and I see him praising others and he calls yuji boring (he's not but I'll let you live today sukuna). I don't like theorizing too too much for fear of raising expectations, but I'm really curious about sukuna's life during the heian period.
When sukuna and uraume laughed at yuji, I felt like I was laughed at too. I guess we'll be seeing his bath scene next.
Anyway, thanks for reading !! Have a good day/night.
(Will I ever go off anon? We'll see one day !!)
HOLA! Happy JJK-Sunday!!!!
Ok. hang I'm just going to go ahead and...
gege akutami is a menace to society actually
There... I felt like it needed to be said louder for the people in the back who may still be on the fence about getting into JJK.
Ok brainrot about chapter 215 under the cut!
Ah yes, no worries about chapter leaks lol. My weekly routine involves checking leaks first thing Wednesday and Friday mornings and nerding out with the moots about it 😂.
Like I am for real worried about JJK ending because what am I going to obsess over when it ends?!!!!!
WHAT KIND OF NORMAL EXISTENCE WILL I BE FORCED TO ENDURE?!!!!!!
But anyways, I did hold off on posting my reply to you until today (Sunday) for those who follow this hellhole of a blog of mine and don't actually read leaks.
he saw us have a little hope last week and had to send us tumbling again 😢
it's going to be a tough ride for sure ~
Yesssss I was hoping we'd get to see Megumi inside the inner domain wrecking Sukuna or at least inflicting some sort of damage 🥲🤧. SOMETHING! ANYTHING!
Regardless, Megumi fighting Sukuna from within whenever his friends are in danger is so... this boy is so beautiful and he doesn't even get it.
Tumblr media
To your point about this being a though ride, Frenchie is my voice of reason when it comes to my fatalist fear of Megumi's death. @justafrenchlondoner recently said some good stuff about how Gege is probably trying to get us to feel like all hope is lost before something good happens.
After all, it isn't uncommon to see events continue to escalate in a sort of "it's going to get much much worse before it gets better" kind of way.
For some reason (denial), I have a feeling megumi's going to overcome this. I won't comment more on that because i feel like i'll spiral
Riiiiight so I'm still rather unwilling to let myself hope Megumi is surviving for the mere fact that I don't want to be hurt. That's just my nature tho.
If I break my heart now then I won't be heartbroken later on if it turns out that Megumi is not surviving.
Tumblr media
Sound logic as you can see lol. I have a tendency to come up with worst case scenarios.
Despite that, I think the idea of Megumi surviving this ordeal to carry on and change the Jujutsu scheme of things makes a lot of sense. Not to mention having to carry the burden of responsibility for the memory of the people he cared about but lost along the way, quite possibly because of his own miscalculations.
Ugh... depressing.
It's so "Watanabe-ending" in its execution but far, far more depressing, brutal and cruel.
gege akutami is a menace to society actually
On another note, sukuna and co's eventual defeat will be worthwhile for how much suffering they've caused and will cause. Sukuna's choice to leave yuji alive will definitely come back to bite him, but it's interesting that his joy comes from seeing yuji suffer and look pathetic than giving him death.
Yeeeeeeessss. I really like the idea that Sukuna's continued underestimating of Yuji will come back to bite him in the ass. I personally will not be surprised if Yuji takes Sukuna back into himself and then kills himself in a self-sacrificial fashion.
Very Pisces of him. Very dying on the cross for our sins symbolism.
Tumblr media
I was also thinking about the idea that Sukuna feeds off of other's suffering too. This whole idea around him being a hedonist with no regards for others takes on a whole new dimension when you consider he might go out of his way to cause suffering because it brings him joy.
It feels like an exploration of a demonic being which made me realize that I think that I've taken for granted that JJK is a horror story and that Gege may be using horror tropes.
This only become clear to me as of late when Sukuna possessed Megumi's body. It was a total execution of demonic possession where the person who gets possessed has to be mentally weakened in order for the demon to take over.
Also, from my understanding of demonic entities, they are said to feed off of negative emotions and actually orchestrate situations that cause suffering precisely so that they can feed off of these emotions.
When sukuna and uraume laughed at yuji, I felt like I was laughed at too.
I couldn't have said it better...
Tumblr media
I have to admit that this is one of my favorite panels ever because, as you say, it's SO DESPICABLE of them to laugh at Yuji when he's so utterly broken after having miserably failed at saving Megumi.
I have personally been fascinated with the reactions this panel has gotten because it speaks to something very real.
Whether it is the experience of being bullied or our unwillingness and complete rejection of the very same evil that exists within, I feel like Gege struck a deep cord with the execution.
gege akutami is a menace to society actually
And this is one of the things that have been on my mind about Gege lately--his execution of events as of late has been far more brutal and cruel than before.
Idk how to explain but the events in Shibuya were bad and shocking... but #things right now just feel hopeless and it feels like Gege is unleashing his self-loathing onto his characters--and his self-loathing is cruel and brutal.
With mangaka like him I always have to wonder about their psyche. i.e. CLAMP's Nanase Okawa has an uncanny ability to take you into deep pits of relatable grief and meaningless despair right along with her characters.
All of the above said, I also agree with Frenchie about how I both hate and love Gege for the execution of this moment.
The fact that Gege was able to depict a deep experience of despair through Yuji and then elicit hate from the audience, it speaks to his ability as a story-teller and how the story he's telling resonates deeply with the audience in a cathartic fashion.
Tumblr media
Also, not sure if you've seen this post by littleholmes but it includes a photo of what might be the Harima statue in question.
Tumblr media
And like... the despair this child statue seems to be experiencing and expressing is so palpable, and I love Gege for making a reference to it because it speaks to Yuji's inner child's grief and helplessness and suffering for not being able to impose his will upon his environment.
Not sure if Spooky will write about it in more detail but I also love what @linkspooky said about the idea that Yuji trying to "Shonen protagonist" his way through things usually doesn't work out.
It's a nice twist on how Shonen mcs just barrel their way through #things with their typical Shonen mc single-minded determination, and everything works out because of the power of friendship or something like that.
Not to sound like a broken record, but this is why I don't understand the idea that JJK is cliché Shonen. There's so much happening underneath the surface that is so rich in commentary on common shonen tropes.
Anyway, thanks for reading !! Have a good day/night.
(Will I ever go off anon? We'll see one day !!)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing all the #thoughts once again!
If you ever come off anon I am looking forward to it. If you don't... well, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you again regardless.
Have a happy JJK Sunday!

Chapter 215: Fearsome Womb, Part 7
// SPOILER WARNING!!! DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE CHAPTER YET.
/// Happy 5th anniversary to Jujutsu Kaisen! The 3rd JJK Character Popularity Poll is ongoing from March 3 to March 20, and everyone in Japan and/or with tickets are able to cast their votes here!
Opening words: “Sukuna and Itadori face off. The one approaching is…!”
Tumblr media
Aaaaa, beautiful lead color page! 😍 This flying cursed spirit suddenly reminds me of the one that both Nanako and Mimiko travelled on back in Volume 0. Also Suguru's flying manta ray cursed spirit in HI arc, when he rescued Riko :')
Tumblr media
》 Meguna/Sukumi: “Nonetheless, a job half-done [will] cause problems.”
Here, Sukuna said, 「やはり何事にも仕上げは必要だな」 (yahari nanigoto ni mo shiage wa hitsuyō da na), which means as translated above. Official translations was weird, so I think it might have been a copy-paste mistake.
Tumblr media
》 Yuuji: “This guy... won't die even if you kill him.”
"Even if you kill him" is the accurate translation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left panel)
》 Yuuji: “You... are really boring.”
This one's easy to miss but FYI, this phrase is most likely a callback to chapter 11 (see right panel)! Here, Yuuji uses the same words Sukuna had used on him when he was inside Sukuna's innate domain — 「オマエはつまらんな」 (omae wa... tsumaran na). In this instance, however, Yuuji added in, "really" — 「オマエは本当につまらんな」 (omae wa... hontōni tsumaran na).
(Right panel)
》 Sukuna: “You... are boring.”
Just a note that in this panel in chapter 11, Sukuna was belittling Yuuji and seeing him as inferior to Megumi Fushiguro.
Tumblr media
Just wanted to explain that here, Maki (I'm assuming this is her dialogue) is basically meaning that it's weird seeing how good "Megumi" is at fistfights. It sorta implies that Megumi wasn't that good at hand-to-hand combat in her pov, but since right now he's possessed by Sukuna, "Megumi" is much better at it. In addition, the "Megumi's face" isn't a wrong translation but you can also say, "It's weird to see him good at fistfights with (using) Megumi's body."
Tumblr media
》 Maki: “Even if he won't die, does that mean he can heal the wound [inflicted] from the "Split Soul Katana" using Reverse Cursed Technique..?”
Officials didn't include the "using RCT" part, which needed to be said.
》 Maki: “Yuuji... At any rate, our goal is to capture that thing even if it means killing (it), right?”
捕まえる (tsukamaeru) means to catch, arrest, grab, capture, or seize. Not stop. And FYI, Maki referred to Meguna/Sukumi as "that," or like Kenjaku once labelled Yuuji - "that thing".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just wanna say that "Maximum Output" isn't a new type of CT by Uraume; 'cause I saw some people going crazy over it calling it a new Uraume CT. (I bet they're speedreaders lulz.) In this instance, Uraume basically exerts the highest (aka max.) output into their "Frost Calm" CT. Reminder that Gojo also used Maximum Output before, back in Shibuya... if anybody forgets.

》 Meguna/Sukumi: “Spectacular view! Spectacular view!”
Sukuna praised this view and said, 「絶景.. 絶景..」 (zekkei.. zekkei..), which is a flowery Japanese term that means an unsurpassably beautiful scenery. I just chose spectacular because it's another word for "extremely beautiful", so... yall can choose whatever you like I guess. It can be "cool," it can also be "awesome." [I just had a pop quiz on this kanji a week ago so it's still fresh in my memory LMAO.]

》 Meguna/Sukumi: “But it was the right choice to focus your cursed energy on that woman.”
Sukuna said 「偏らせた」 (katayora seta) which means biased, leaned, prejudiced. I believe in this context, it just means that Uraume had focused their cursed energy on Maki.

》 Meguna/Sukumi: “Let's complete this body.”
Official translation is kinda alright. Meanwhile, what I've offered is just the literal translation and it sounds weird, lol, but it just means that the body is still incomplete - so they gotta do their stuff to achieve the desired, final form.
》 Meguna/Sukumi: “Get the "bath" ready.”
Yes, "bath" was in quotation marks. The raws were 「"浴"の用意をしろ」 (“yoku” no yōi o shiro). Now why am I imagining the "bath" to be with blood instead of water!

》 Meguna/Sukumi: “Just like always... [You're] meticulous.”
FYI, Sukuna used an idiom in this dialogue. He said 「相変わらず洋い所に手が届く」 (aikawarazu yō kayui tokoro ni te ga todoku), which literally translates to: "Just like always, your hand reaches the itchy areas/places."
The idiom here is 「洋い所に手が届く」 (kayui tokoro ni te ga todoku), and it means "to be extremely thorough" or "to focus on the little details." Simply put, this expression can be used for someone who is "meticulous"; one who is able to pay attention to every single detail, no matter how tiny.
Additionally, in the service industry, this phrase implies that one must have precise knowledge of the needs of the person that they want to serve. So the phrase can also be used when one wants to be "attentive to someone's every need/wish."

》 Meguna/Sukumi: “Look!! There was [someone/something]... From Harima!!”
The text in the JP raws was very vague; it was 「ほらいただろ!!! あの播磨の!」 (Hora itadaro! ! ! Ano Harima no!) which translates as above. Meanwhile, TCB translated this particular dialogue to "Told you!! He's like that guy from Harima!!"
In my opinion, I am leaning more to the official Viz translation because I looked up the "Harima statue" on Google and these particular statues (see below) bear a semblance with Yuuji's facial expression in the last page. And I think the statues actually make the most sense, especially with what Uraume said next about Yuuji's mouth, as compared to if they were talking about a Heian-era person whom only the two of them know. I don't think Gege would do us dirty like that for not getting the joke.

— “Never Mind Mind” (2013), by Midori Harima
Closing words: “Even if you're being mocked, never forget that rage.”
Comments: As always, I never claimed to be a professional translator. My JP understanding is still amateurish but I hope yall will allow me to share my own insights on certain dialogues just so we can learn and understand each other’s interpretations, and also to kindly correct me wherever I had been wrong. Thank you!

Maki is clearly the MVP of this chapter but I've already made a few posts about her (she slayed)
Now I want to talk about Yuuji. Ngl it was hilarious to see local mean girls Sukuna & Uraume reunite and team up to roast poor Yuuji. However... look at how devastated our best boy looks. He literally burst his way out of a staggering ice wall (that even Shouto would be impressed by) to get to Megumi! He was that desperate to stop Sukuna from leaving and save his best friend (boyfriend)
Last week I made a post about Megumi, itafushi, & their love for each other making them strong. While for the most part that still holds true, I didn't expect that itafushi would be split up this quickly. Gege they are a pair do not separate them! Together I really think itafushi are able to overcome anything, but now that they are separated idk what to expect. I'm concerned about how Yuuji will react to Megumi being taken hostage. The poor guy has had so many L's lately that I hope this won't be his breaking point. Having his Maki-senpai there for support should help his morale since she's somehow so calm in every crisis.
As for Maki, I refuse to believe that anything terrible has happened to her. She's just knocked out from the ice and will be ready to go and hunt down Sukuna as soon as she wakes up. How the hell Yuuji and Maki even go about finding Sukuna though is another issue.
Hopefully next chapter brings more Sukuna/Uraume interactions and some answers about Megumi's fate. I have no clue what Gege is cooking and we already know not to trust him. Best case scenario whatever kinky ritual bath Sukuna has planned will give him his own corporeal body, meaning he no longer needs Megumi's body. This scenario would potentially allow Megumi a chance to escape or be saved by his friends. However, a Sukuna in his original body will be scary and strong af but hey at least we'd finally see a 4 armed Sukuna!
Worst case scenario (and I'm begging you Gege don't go this route) would have Megumi either permanently trapped inside his body with no way to fight back. Or worse yet to overwrite/rewrite him in some way similar to what has happened to Tsukumi.
Yeah... basically the angst hours continue and I'm terrified for leaks this week
