9, 12, 13 for the smut asks!

9. How did you learn to write smut? Were there specific fics or authors that inspired you? Or novels/movies/other texts?

Definitely fics that inspired me, uhhh. God, I don't even remember when my first smut fic was written but -- and here's some Deep Lore. I actually used to run one of those NSFW anime prompt blogs for Haikyuu? Like it was my irl friend's and she was like...hey....I need some help with this....will you admin the blog with me? And I said yes. And I think that forged something in me, for sure. Certainly it's where I got the most practice writing straight sex, not that I've used it that much. I think probably like, old Bleach fandom, GrimmIchi specifically, is where I picked up a lot of stuff ages ago? And then when you hit Homestuck, you learn a LOT, very quickly. Stuff by Laylah on AO3 really hit it for me. My friend Ecto wrote a ton that's really good (ectoprince on AO3) if you like DirkJohn. Also this is quite recent but Wangxian fic really opened my eyes, I feel like I'm not necessarily good at focusing on the Bodies aspect, making the wanting feel insanely grounded and consuming, and that's a pairing where people are really, really good at it in general.

One of my other friends is also very talented at it but currently this knowledge is being applied to a mech AU Top Gun fic, so.

12. Who are your favorite characters/pairings to write smut for?

Whoever the blorbos of the month are, unfortunately, but I do like to put Fingolfin, Maglor, and Manwe specifically into Situations. I also love when the smut can be really weird, so Valar tend to lend themselves well to that also. Also Nanami JJK because I love him.

13. What’s the most surprising smut pairing you’ve written? 

Almost certainly Ingwe/Manwe for the 2021 TRSB, in that I would never have considered it without that AMAZING art in the gallery, and it ended up being both incredibly fun to write and one of my favorite things I've written to date.

it’s been..... 3 years......... oops ?

for the luckily unaware, i first posted about this AU back in 2019 for the kakaobi week, said “someone remind me to make a post with like, more details about this AU” and then promptly forgot about it

anyway uh, Root AU !

basically, Obito is found by Root, Orochimaru is brought in to experiment on his body with some HashiraDNA™ (it’s not like Obito would survive otherwise, so no consequences if things turn out badly Again) and surprisingly the graft takes

so now Danzo has a new tool, Orochimaru has a long-term pet project and some reassurance that his HashiraDNA™ experiments could work, and Obito is Going Through It

his new body is super fucked up. not only is he now a weird amalgamation of cells that only fit together thanks to seals engraved inside his skin (? or whatever the equivalent of skin is for half-tree-half-man limbs), but the rest of his body is Also covered in seals to guarantee obedience, silence, not bringing harm to Root or Danzo, not revealing his original identity, not killing himself... but also some of them are responsible for keeping him alive, so it’s a mixed bag

his new name is Kinoko, in katakana. because i thought it was funny to call him mushroom and/or tree child, even though it doesn’t fit the pattern of Root names. also it’s just fucked up enough that Orochimaru would like it i think, so we’ll just say he’s the one who chose that name

so that’s the origins of Kinoko

because his old self has been buried by Root training, seals, and trauma, his feelings relative to Kakashi and Rin are pretty different from canon, in that while he witnessed Rin’s death through the shared sharingan connection with Kakashi (which led to the discovery of said connection and the implementation of some news seals inside Obito/Kinoko’s eye socket to make sure nothing from his side goes to Kakashi) and it awakened his mangekyou, he doesn’t keep a grudge. Rin’s death becomes just one more fucked up Root thing in his mind

unlike Kinoe, whose mastery of mokuton is used to great avail with complex buildings and structures, Kinoko’s version of it is incomplete and entirely tied to his body. on the one hand, this limits his range a lot, but on the other he doesn’t require hand signs and thus can launch very efficient surprise attacks

by the time Team 7 is established, Kinoko is assigned to watch over them and make sure nothing goes wrong with either the 9 Tails or the last living Uchiha who isn’t an abomination of nature

while he cannot reveal his identity, nothing in his programming forbids him from being accidentally spotted by Kakashi, which accidentally happens. accidentally

yeah Kinoko is kinda tired of Danzo’s shit, turns out, and would very much like some freedom

So if there is at least JJK Ilia, (JJK Swap AU Ilia), Homestuck Ilia, TADC Ilia, NSR Ilia, Frieren Ilia etc... are there infinite Ilias out there? (Absolutely not complaining tho)

Yup! Pretty much every universe (or a version of a universe) could potentially have an Ilia in it!

Not every Ilia is a fully realized Ilia though. Like NSR Ilia is most likely just a human, probably an elemental human, but nothing like any of the other Ilia's that are around.

Frieren Ilia and JJK Ilia are probably the two of the strongest Ilia's out there, and they are probably aware of each other unlike the other Ilia's who would have either a small inclination of other timelines/universes (Homestuck, Eriverse, TADC, probably Spiderverse) or have no idea whatsoever of other universes other than theories (NSR).

Basically, if I want to have a self insert in a media, then Ilia is in a version of that story (not every single story/version as I do like playing with just canon characters at times and don't want a self insert/oc in the story).

I have no ideas for a Spiderverse Ilia at the moment, which is funny as you pointed out Ilia very much is related to spiders as a curse. I'll probably watch a video about different spidermen powers to try and figure out what would be a more realistic set of spider powers that Ilia could have that relates to his already established powers.

But yea! Short answer is that there are absolutely an infinite amount of Ilia's because I just want to make a little version where I have a self insert (though some Ilia's I am more attached to than others, such as JJK Ilia being my top one I have right now).

An AU where everything is the same, except Gojo used Homestuck instead of a movie marathon to train Yuuji.

Hear me out.

Gojo was still barely a teenager in 2009, so there is every chance he knows about about Homestuck. Maybe even read it himself. But even if he only was aware of the fans, he’d probably know what an absolute ride reading Homestuck is.

And from what I’ve seen, it’s generally accepted he used movies instead of something more traditional on the off chance it would mess with Sukuna/he could say he made the King of Curses watch B-movies.

You can not tell me it would be out of character for Gojo.
