Ch.3 of My Maid of Stone is finally ticking along nicely and now the muse is really speaking because the fic ideas keep accumulating! Anyway, just for fun, I wanted to share the two most developed ones below and see what the Jonsa folks are vibing with:

a) Bookverse future fic, set during the Long Night/Long Winter in Winterfell, with Jon and Sansa as co-regents to Rickon. Not quite a year into a political marriage of convenience, both mistakeningly think the other resents the arrangement. Features alternating POVs, Old Icelandic + Old English poetry fragments as thematic section headers, and opens with Jon hunting in the wolfswood and Sansa lamenting his absence at home, both pining after the other.

b) Historical AU, set c. early 1920s in the Norwegian Arctic territory of Svalbard. After tragedy strikes, Sansa decides to leave the comforts of modernity behind to join a stranger turned husband on the Arctic island of Spitsbergen where he is carrying out scientific study. In a harsh climate where the nearest neighbour lives sixty miles away, strangers soon become better acquainted through necessity... but also slowburn intimacy ;)

Obviously, my first priority is to finish MMoS. I'm just excited to have ideas and inspiration flowing again! Let me know what you think :)

🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇷🐢🏝️ i got tired of complaining constantly on my main blog (@thewingedwolf is me!) about how sansa and rhaenyra did nothing wrong and also i needed a way to organize my theories and stuff. yes i have read all the books. yes i have (unfortunately) seen the whole show. yes i have seen all of hotd as well. so here we go. my stances are this, so you have an idea what to expect:

i am a catelyn, sansa, brienne, elia, lyanna and rhaenyra stan FIRST and a person SECOND

i would die for Gaemon Palehair, Lady Essie, and Sylvenna Sand, those are my canon OCs, and that’s why they’re my header.

Sansa and Bran are my favorites! I am a Sansa will be Queen in the North truther and a Bran will be the King in Harrenhal conspiracy theorist, It Is Heavily Foreshadowed In The Text and I stand on that!!

I'm well aware Rhaenyra has plenty of faults, I am saying that the greens (as in, the characters) do not like her because of her gender, and not for stuff she does that’s actually wrong, also, idc that she did all of that i simply think she’s fun.

Helaena really IS the one who did nothing wrong tho.

i am a Dark Daenerys believer. no, i don’t hate her - in fact, i really love her, although i do hate her show counterpart - I just think her arc is heading towards a dark path and being a villain protagonist is the more interesting route for her character.

House Martell will rise or I will piss in old man germ’s cornflakes.

I Will talk about the racism Dorne faces in the text and outside of it and neither your favorite house nor my favorite house is exempt from this. If you have a problem with that, keep it to yourself bc i do not care 🙏🏽

i multiship!! just bc i ship it doesn’t mean i think it’s gonna happen in the series, i just like the dynamic!!

i am in fact the annoying book jonsa truther they warned you about. i will Stay bitter about this. argue with the wall.

with that said, i also like theonsa, throbb, daemyra, laenyra, rhaewin, nedcat, braime, briensa, and a million other ones. faves listed here. several of them are dead dove-esque; what can i say, that's just george's style.

you decide whether it’s romantic or platonic when it’s an incest one, my opinion changes by the hour & im gonna fight grrm for making me think this much about incest.

i don’t like jonerys!!!!!! i'm sansan & sanrion ambivalent and i simply do not care about littlefucker like that. i would say i’ve thought positively about basically every other ship.

i’m in the middle of a reread, as of this moment (april 2024) i’ve kinda stalled on the beginning of a dance with dragons but i Have started a rewatch of the tv series as a form of torture.

i first read this series when i was 16 in like 2012-2013. i love to bitch about the takes i’ve seen. i sometimes reblog really old ass graphics bc they deserve new life even tho the creators are long since deactivated. i sometimes make graphics that look like they’re from 2014 bc we should bring that style back dammit i hate the typography movement going on rn.

big on tagging triggers so lmk (i’ll tag for all characters & major triggers but i’m fine with adding a specific one if asked and don't worry about it being a "weird" trigger - if sean bean's face or knives or wolves or whatever trigger you, i'm happy to tag for that!). my spoiler policy is that i’ll tag everything from this season as “hotd spoilers” and any of the Big Events with “episode title spoilers” but i can’t guarantee I can be consistent longer than like 2 days though i will try!! i Will be talking about any book canon events tho, the books have been out for years either you know how to avoid them or you know everything, i’m not tagging that.

I swear Jonsas have ruined so much, because the gif I wanted to use as the upcoming chapters header is just one of my favorites of Jon in general, but its that fucking goddanm gif every jonsa uses all over their posts. I love that gif and it works perfectly for my chapter, but everytime I look at it I see the 800 jonsa conspiracy theories.

Thanks for the message and sorry it took me a bit to reply. I am enjoying writing romance novels very much but I do regret having to put that story idea on hold indefinitely.

What did I have planned? Um... *nervous sweating*... it was going to be a Rhaegar-won, Jon was still a bastard but raised at court but also sent North for a time/ salty teens pushed into an arranged marriage AU with lots of intrigue and plotting with Cersei as the villain but Rhaegar no better than her in some ways. He would've had a decent relationship with his half-brother though (my god, what's his name? I've not looked at aoiaf in a while now...) I only have rough notes so I'm sorry I can't give you anything more detailed.

I did a bit of digging because I remembered sharing more here way back when. It's 2 chapters that are probably crap (one from Elia's POV and one from Jaime's) and there's Jon but no Sansa because it was all setup for Jon being sent North but here you go if you want to check it out...

Hi! I love your headers so much and was wondering if you'd be willing to make some pale Jon, Sansa or Jon x Sansa headers in the same style as your more recent ones? If not, don't worry about it!

Hi anon, sorry for the super late response. This was quite the challenge as I tend to gravitate towards (over)saturation and vibrant colours and high contrast but I tried!

Back on my shit, still working on My Maid of Stone 😅 I think initially I was thinking it'd be about 2000 words, but it's feeling like it could be closer to between 3000-4000... so, yes, taking a while, but hopefully it'll be pretty juicy when it finally arrives. Anyways, a taster:

The voice of the raven had now stopped, its echo with it. The creaking rasp of its wings sounded then, close to her window, as it began to circle, looking down, drawn it would seem towards the only moving creature that shared its portion of the morning. It circled once more, the blackest of black birds, darkened still further by the snow massed beneath it. Whatever it was that the raven had spotted, it was indistinguishable from that stark whiteness. Some silent stalker, shifter of the morning. The click of old bones and low groan of a waking body caused Alayne to at last turn away from her silent vigil; neck a little stiff from standing in one attitude for so long, her long chestnut hair unbound.

For WIP Wednesday, a snippet from a series I’m writing for the drabble fest hosted by @jonsadungeonsanddrabbles​ next week.  

It’s a Modern AU with a hint of Kennedy vibes I guess where Jon falls for his up-and-coming politician half-brother Aegon’s girlfriend.

Jon hates this scene so much.

Normally, he can avoid it even with his father being who he is because he’s a Snow, not a Targaryen.  But tonight, all eyes are on Aegon and Jon’s got to be here in a show of solidarity. That’s what it is, too. A show.

Elia spies him across the room no sooner than he’s walked in.  Her eyes just as quickly cut away. That’s not a show. She doesn’t care for her husband’s bastard being here on her son’s night.

He edges around the far side of the bar, hoping to blend in if he can’t escape yet.

“Oops! Excuse me!”

He’d had his eyes on his father, hadn’t seen her backing away from the bar. But if someone's going to bump into him here, spill Merlot on him, he won’t complain about it being her.

Gorgeous red hair, a strappy, sparkly silver dress and blue eyes. A face straight out of a magazine. She’s all adorably flustered smiles as she ineffectively wipes at his suit. Who is she?

“I’m so sorry!”

Her voice is a song, lilting amusement as he stares at her trying to think of something witty to say, coming up blank like usual.  “No, it’s…it’s nothing.”  You dream of being a writer but can't come up with anything to say.  Pathetic.

“Jon? Godsdamn, you made it!”

One strong arm thrown around his neck, a whiff of body odor and bourbon. Aegon's already sweating bullets behind all those smiles he’s been giving and dousing his nerves with liquor every chance he gets.

He cups Jon’s face, eyes wild with the adrenaline of a rush Jon will never know or understand. “I knew you’d come, cubby.”

Jon scowls, eyes involuntarily flashing towards the pretty redhead. He hates when his brother calls him that. They aren’t terribly close but they’d tried when they were kids. Doesn’t mean his brother, who’s not even a year older than him, mind you, still has to call him that stupid nickname.

“Oh shit, this is perfect!” Aegon exclaims next, noting the woman still standing there with only half of her Merlot still in the glass and the other on Jon’s black jacket.

Jon’s scowl deepens. He knows how Aegon flirts and he doesn’t want to see it, not with her.
