You know what would be pretty cool? An X-Men animated movie in a style similar to the Spider-Verse movies. Just instead of the usual X-Men characters, make it about the younger mutants Like say this group:
They all got varying powers and abilities, and you kinda gotta admit, the visuals some people could do with these could be awesome.
While X-23 is a top contender for lead, I say make the lead of this theoretical movie Prodigy. That's the guy with the bug-eye looking goggles for those that don't know. He can telepathically copy any skill from anyone. As an example, say he's playing basketball, he can copy the basketball skills of the person he's playing against.
Mostly anybody of this group could be the main character. I only say mostly anybody, because while I love Rockslide, I think he works best as a secondary or supporting character.
We don't need more multiverse movies, so it being set in a singular universe works. Have the usual X-Men characters act as mentors, they've seen enough that they could pass down that knowledge to students and help them.
If anybody wants to add some ideas, that's cool.

Josh Foley is a kid who consistently makes bad decisions that lead to everyone hating him (for good reason) and it drives him in his isolated nature to doing all sorts of crazy stuff (like dating a teacher, and joining mutant terrorist groups) just to belong to something and to feel loved.
and he sucks for it. he fucking sucks. He's definitely a completely selfish a-hole. But I don't think he deserved what he got like this.
I honestly think the teachers of the school should've sat him down and tried to help him figure out why it was he decided to join an anti-mutant cult. Why he willingly dated a teacher. They'd find that all it was was that he wanted to belong to something, he wanted affirmations and he wanted to be loved.
I think that if they had done that then they could have helped Josh redeem himself, help him apologize and be accountable for his actions. Because he really didn't do any of that. People kinda just forgot or forgave him with time, but he never really made any indication that he felt particularly bad for joining an anti-mutant cult.
We all know of course that the school fucking sucks at taking care of their kids' mental health or just, being there for them at all, and this absolutely extends to reformation and helping their kids improve themselves. I'm personally of the belief that Josh could grow to be a better person, but the circumstances around his situation and the nature of the school and their ability to take care of teens emotional well being just never allowed for this.

hey look who made it out!! thank god at least two of the five have been confirmed to be alive. i have no idea who the red head is meant to be, but its nice that more mutants made it out than books like x-men and iron man are making it seem, even if they're stuck in vanheim or a desert or something
