So... one idea I had just recently is the idea of Laura Kinney and Julian Keller having a neat light/darkness esque dynamic. A bit based on ideas that really were introduced in recent enough Venom books. What if Laura has an active portion of the Uni-Power while Julian has a symbiote.
The idea more popped in my head when I was revisiting some of my posts about Top Cow's The Darkness and Witchblade. It was initially an idea of what if Julian had a darker inner voice telling him to do some bad things, somewhat akin to the titular Darkness. Then I remembered that the symbiote exist and have a connection to a god of darkness, while the Uni-Power is a god of light, so an idea for a more amicable or loving relationship between people connected to light and darkness popped in my head. Laura as the light half of the dynamic and Julian as the dark half. I will admit though I think it could be cool to swap the two in a sense and have Julian as the light half and Laura as the dark half though.
Then I had this idea: imagine a new Marvel/Top Cow crossover where Laura gets to be a bearer of the Witchblade, while Julian gets to wield the legendary Excalibur. Which if I remember reading correctly could be understood as like the male equivalent of the Witchblade? Or maybe Julian is wielding one of the other Thirteen Artifacts. Maybe something like The Rapture, which I believe allows him to at a base line teleport and maybe create armor. I gotta refresh my thoughts on that artifact. I really just gotta get farther in on my reading of Top Cow comics so I know what the whole universe is like.
Decided to look it up real quick: apparently in the Top Cow universe Excalibur is a fragment of the Witchblade. I kinda like that and kinda don't. I don't know, but something about the Excalibur being it's own magic weapon just feels a bit more appealing to me. Then again, with the Witchblade reboot, we may see how it handles Excalibur similarly or differently in the future, so who knows.

So... here's a funnier crossover idea... maybe a crazier crossover idea... a Soul Eater/Shin Megami Tensei crossover. You know what? Definitely crazier crossover ideas.
Why this crossover popping in my head? I started watching Soul Eater and am playing some SMT V: Vengeance a bit every now and then. Alright! Getting to it, the main idea I had is a bit of a funnier one where Death the Kid is just going nuts over the asymmetrical look of the Nahobino, maybe even declaring Nahobino an enemy, or at least a rival, because of that asymmetricity.
OOOOOOH! Here's a fun thought: The Nahobino or Demi-Fiend versus Kishin Asura. I'm leaning more towards Demi-Fiend versus Kishin Asura, as I think that could be a neat battle. What one could argue are two forces of chaos, basically duking it out for control of the world. Or I guess less control of the world and more being the cause of a new age of... let's say darkness, for the world.
Another idea I just had is this: Nahobino and Aogami being a Meister/Weapon Duo at the DWMA. Think about it! They already have to essentially properly synchronize for their powers to work in their game of origin, quite like how a Meister and Weapon have to get their souls to properly resonate to work together. Meanwhile maybe Demi-Fiend could be someone who was one his way to being a Kishin and then regained proper control of himself, maybe leading him to become... well... the Demi-Fiend.
What do you guys think? Would you read something like this? Would you want to see maybe Death Battle do something like Demi-Fiend versus Kishin Asura? Please, if you feel so inclined, share you thoughts!

Continuing this once again! I want to go over more characters and how I think they would work in a mainline SMT fighting game. Of course, I will take some inspiration from various other fighting games so as to, at least in part, give an idea of how I think these SMT characters could work. I will going over mainly female characters for this one, as I feel like this needs more female characters.
I do want to add quick, I think the Persona Arena games do use some of the systems of SMT, such as elemental weaknesses to deal greater damage to enemy. Maybe this hypothetical mainline SMT fighting game could use that as well. That along with maybe adding Status effects, Buffs, and Debuffs as Special moves or Super moves.
ISABEAU: I feel like she could be a Balance character. She could have Specials that utilize her demon summons for the moves. I gotta think a bit more on what her Super could be.
ARTEMIS: I feel like she could be a Balance or Rushdown character. Her being a hunting goddess makes we want to go Rushdown, along with two of her signature moves, Headcrush and Somersault, being close range physical attacks while her other signature move, Astral Saintstrike could be more mid or long range, giving her one poking tool if needed. Either that or make Astral Saintstrike her Super move.
CLEOPATRA: I feel like she would be a Zoning character. She wants to stay at a farther distance than her opponents, using Specials to hit from afar and/or lower their attack or defense. Her Super would be Frolic, lowering both attack and defense while maybe Charming the enemy. I'm kinda hesitant to add Charm in all honesty.
KONOHANA SAKUYA: I feel like she could be a bit more of a Zoning character. Her moves in SMT V are more about being a healer, and healers are typically not the tanky characters, so Zoning just feels a bit right. I guess her with the Zoning idea she could have more Wind-based Specials, with her Super being her signature move Sakuya Sakura, restoring some HP, as well as raising all stats by one stage.
MARICI: I guess she could be a Unique character, maybe having to do with her three bodies. One could be more Zoning, another could be Balance, and the last could be Rushdown. With the ability to switch being tied to one of her Specials, and each body could one or two of its own Specials. Meanwhile, maybe the Super could be her signature move Formless Arrows.
So... kinda continuing off yet also diverging from a previous post where I talk about Happy Chaos shooting Demi-Fiend, I had this idea of what could a mainline SMT fighting game could look like. Or what maybe some SMT characters as guests in Guilty Gear could look like? I'm gonna try making it a bit more of a general fighting game idea despite my fairly limited knowledge of fighting games. I play them but fighting games are very rarely my go-to type of video game. I know Persona has fighting games, so I may take what I can find about them and see if I can translate some things from those to something with mainline characters like Nanashi and Dagda. Let's get started!
NAHOBINO: I feel like he would be a bit more of an all-rounder, sort of the Ryu of an SMT fighting game. Or maybe the Sol Badguy or Ky Kiske of the game? Nahobino would have good long, mid, and short range. I guess for a Super more, it could be something like him using a Murakumo.
DEMI-FIEND: I feel like him being more of a Power or Rushdown character could be interesting. Both because most generally want to go with a physical build when it comes to Demi-Fiend and both feel somewhat in-character. He could probably play like a Leo Whitefang if you go Rushdown. Either Leo Whitefang or maybe Dai Shi in Battle For The Grid. For a Super, maybe something like Freikugal?
NANASHI: There is a neat idea I have seen for this, where it's like Nanashi's special attacks can be built around calling on his friends like Asahi and/or Gaston. Or if you want to go another route, calling on the power given by Dagda. For a Super, I guess going for the big attack where all his friends attack at once when fhe Gauge is full could work.
LUCIFER: I kinda feel like it can't just be the protagonists as fighters, that some of the bosses also gotta be fighters, and Lucifer is one of the most well-known bosses in SMT, to my knowledge. He could be a bigger, slower character who relies on hard-hitting specials for damage, with his Super being Root of Evil, maybe giving a random effect each time it's used.
DAGDA: Semi-related to the Nanashi ideas, what if Dagda is a fighter akin to Slayer from Guilty Gear, who is good about whiff-punishing with hard hitting basic attacks and specials, while maybe having a unique button or special where he calls in Nanashi to maybe deal or take damage. His Super could be Lost Hit, where he does a huge combo of punches before sending the opponent back with a final one.
NUWA & YAKUMO: I feel like this could maybe be a fun case of a Puppet Fighter type of character, where the attack comes more from what is summoned than the character. Maybe using the Persona 4 Arena control scheme, have it that two buttons belong go Nuwa's attacks while another two belong to Yakumo's attacks. Either that or some kind of swap fighter, where using a special you can swap between Nuwa as a Zoner and Yakumo as a Power character. I'll be honest, gotta think a bit more on their Super.
ABDIEL: I feel like it could be fun to see her as almost like a Ky Kiske type, a bit more specifically what I know of Ky in Strive. She's fairly balanced in terms of moveset, with a fair number of long, mid, and short-range attacks, with maybe a way to summon Dazai for help, and has a Super that changes her form and buffs her. Where Ky has Dragon Install, maybe Abdiel goes from her Herald form to her Fallen form.
TSUKUYOMI: It would be his fused form with Yuzuru, where he's wielding his scythe. I guess a sort of Testament-like moveset could work, but I could also look a bit more into other scythe-wielding fighting game characters and see if they can give me an idea. For a Super, it could be Paraselene Blur, where he does 4 Light-element attacks in quick succession.
YUZURU: I guess he could be similar to what I know of Ken & Koromaru, just with Hayataro in the Kuromaru role. He could be fairly strong and agile with maybe not the best durability, as he is still human. I think one Super could be one of Hayataro's skills, like say Carnage Fang, where if I remember correctly, he jumps and bites the opponent before spinning like a drill? Is that correct?
SPACE MARINE: The protagonist of Strange Journey. Okay, so, to some this may be a bit of strange idea, but what if his moveset is akin to that of the Mastodon Sentry from Battle For The Grid? Where he's got good melee attacks but also has a rifle that can fire shots when hitting a certain button, maybe with if holding backward as well he can use it to dive back for good distance if needed.
And that is all I got for now. I did say I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to fighting game movesets, so I did have to take some inspiration from games I have played, such as Guilty Gear Strive and Battle For The Grid. Maybe I could use some of my Mortal Kombat know-how as well, but it's been a long while since I played MK.

Continuing some of this. Really, a bit more on the shared universe idea. I got to thinking about Death, both from Marvel and Soul Eater. How would I make it so that both can work? Or could I just combine the two?
Going with both, maybe one Soul Eater's Death is just a Death that has jurisdiction over Earth? With Marvel's Death existing on a more cosmic scale. Or maybe having jurisdiction over Titan? Something to think on a bit more.
Let's come back to Death another time. Let's go over more ideas for the setting of a shared universe crossover. I think the face on the Moon is just iconic to Soul Eater, so I feel like that has to be kept, while I think the Sun should be a normal sun, like in the Marvel Universe, meaning it has no face on it. Earth can still have the Marvel superheroes, at least some of them. I think some of the more street level or down to earth Marvel characters make the most sense, but I guess some bigger one can work well if we go with them not being Weapons or Meisters.
Maybe some cosmic beings exist while others do not. One I am on the fence about is Galactus. He is very iconic to Marvel, but I feel like in a crossover universe he could be a bit much. Meanwhile I think some like the Collector or the Grandmaster can work well enough without much issue.
Come to think of it, how could magic-based Marvel characters work in a Soul Eater crossover? For example, how would Doctor Strange work? Or even Thor and Loki? Something to mull over more.
So... I'm thinking of a new crossover idea again. Marvel/Soul Eater crossover. With maybe Loa and Mercury as the Meister/Weapon Duo. I could go with Laura and Julian again, but I feel like switching it up a bit.
There are two main ideas I got with this. Number 1: Shared Alternate Universe. Number 2: Multiverse Shenanigans
For idea number one: I guess it could be interesting to see how mutants can factor into the equation, but I also like idea of them looking human and being mostly normal, with exception to the soul-based powers of course. Here's a thought that just crossed my mind: Mercury being a Mutant/Weapon hybrid in a way? Or her Earth-616 powerset being her Weapon abilities kicked into overdrive, in a way? I guess it could be the same for Loa? OR she could just he a mutant who's tapping in the soul-based abilities that come with being a Meister.
For idea two: it's basically just hopping from one universe to another, maybe with the idea that whatever device allowed Loa and Mercury to get to the Soul Eater universe just adapting them to that universe. Think of it almost in a way like Across the Spider-Verse with the wristbands that Spider-Society has that lets them safely exist in other universes. Or maybe Loa and Mercury have been unmoored from the usual space-time of their home universe and have been recruited by Exiles and now their universe hopping.
I like all the ideas about equally. So, I want to hear from others, if you feel so inclined. Which would you want to do? How would you go about this?

So... I started watching Soul Eater. And I am enjoying the anime so far. And with being on a bit of a Guilty Gear kick, I had this idea of maybe some Soul Eater characters as guests in a Guilty Gear game.
I will be going over things how I have previously in other posts about how I think characters could work in Guitly Gear. Sorry if this is tiring for some, but I just like doing this as a fun thought experiment for myself.
KID, LIZ, AND PATTY: I feel like they would be a Shooting character like Happy Chaos, or say we give them infinite ammo, probably more of a Zoning character. I think Happy Chaos gets the special classification of Shooting because of his ammo and concentration bars, so Kid, Liz, and Patty maybe having infinite ammo could probably get them into Zoning instead. At least that's my guess. I need to think about Special moves for them, but the Overdrive could be their soul resonance move, Death Cannon.
MAKA AND SOUL: I feel like they would be a Balance character. Being the main characters of SE, it just makes sense to me that they would be the most balanced of the SE cast. Their Special could basically be dome empowered strikes with some neat movements. Their Overdrive could Their soul resonance move, Witch Hunter, maybe having a slightly longer than expected hit range.
BLACK STAR AND TSUBAKI: I feel like they would be a Rushdown character. Black Star is definitely a guy who would rush his opponent, even with Tsubaki gently suggesting otherwise. They could I guess play like a variant of Chipp Zanuff. For Specials, it could be the different weapon forms of Tsubaki, while the Overdrive can be Tsubaki's Uncanny Sword mode, with the added powers that comes it.
KILIK, FIRE, AND THUNDER: I feel like they would he a Power character. I have yet to get to when Kilik, Pot of Fire, and Pot of Thunder are introduced yet, but I have seen a clip and done some reading on them. With Fire and Thunder despite being called "Pots" being more like a pair of gauntlets with respective elemental power. I think making them a somewhat faster Power character could be interesting, with maybe a Special or two related to the Pots' elemental powers. I got to get further into the anime, and likely later the manga, to get an idea for an Overdrive for this group
That's all I got for this one! Hope you all enjoyed, and please, if you feel so inclined, leave some thoughts.

So... I've been thinking a bit more on crossovers again, both new and old ones I wish to revisit. I have been thinking a bit on the DMC/Marvel/SMT crossover again, as well still some bits on the Guilty Gear/Marvel crossover and the Guilty Gear/Darksiders crossover. Then there is a new one or two... some crossovers with TMNT.
Not specifically adding TMNT to the already existing crossover, but more the idea of something like TMNT crossing over with Guilty Gear or crossing over with DMC or even SMT. I'm on a bit of a Guilty Gear kick recently, so I'll mostly be going over some ideas for that. For the TMNT side of things, I will be taking more inspiration from the 2003 TMNT and Rise of the TMNT, as those are the versions I know the most about.
For a Guilty Gear/TMNT crossover, I could see if being that the brothers are almost seen as like proto-Gears in a sense. Where are Gears are born from magic-based experiments, the brothers are more scientific experiments or born as they are now in part because of the ooze. Taking a bit more inspiration from Rise for their powersets: most of them with the constructs, and Leonardo with the portal generation. I could keep going over my thoughts for somethings a bit more lore-based, but I do feel like going over some gameplay ideas for if they were guests in Guilty Gear.
LEONARDO: He could be a Balance character. Or potentially even a Rushdown character. He could use his portals for quick attacks with his Specials. His Overdrive could maybe be a bit more comedic, having Leo summon multiple portals before thing fall through them and crush the opponent. Or maybe a more serious Overdrive with the portal, his rushing through multiple and striking with sword with each portal hop.
RAPHAEL: He would be more of a Power character. He would have his construct, using it to empower his attacks for his Specials. His Overdrive could see him going for a big body slam with construct.
MICHELANGELO: I guess he could he a Zoning or Balance character. His nunchucks give him slightly longer range than his brothers while maybe his Specials make him fight closer range than say Axl Low's Special moves. Mikey can theoretically do everything his brothers, being a bit more of an all-rounder, but let's stick with a bit of a fire-elemental thing he can kinda do, at least for now. His Overdrive could see him doing a neat sending out rapidfire lashes of fire from his nunchucks.
DONATELLO: I feel like he would be a bit more of a Balance or Unique character. Going with Unique, he could basically have a unique capability with his Tech-Bo staff, where he basically can swap between maybe two modes for it. A standard staff mode and maybe a hammer mode or segmented staff mode, one that could almost imitate a whip. Or just go with three modes and have it swap between all. If going with all three modes, it would be through a Special that the swap would happen. For his Overdrive, it could be him turning his Tech-Bo into something rocket-propelled and send it flying at his enemies, maybe taking them for a ride before slamming them into the ground or wall and then returning to Donnie's hands.
That's all I got for now. In a self reblog I may go over idea for Splinter, April, Casey, Karai, and Shredder. Hope you all enjoyed!

So... with the knowledge of Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls coming out next year, I thought it could be fun to make a wishlist of sorts for characters that could be playable down the line. I will be leaving some characters that look more likely out. Such as a number of characters that have made into Marvel Rivals. So no Logan!
Anyways, let us begin
LAURA KINNEY: I think it should obvious I would want one of my favorite characters of all time added. She's no stranger to appearing in fighting games either. She was a fighter in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. So, with some history in fighting games, I think she has a chance of making it into MTFS.
ROCKSLIDE: This is more of a self-indulgent pick. Rockslide is psionic entity mutant who basically forms a body made of rocks. Thus his codename. He could be a neat pick for the roster despite his lack of fighting game history, but I could see him playing like a Potemkin, in some ways.
SKAAR: I feel like a Hulk would very much make it onto the roster at some point, but why not make a lesser known Hulk who can add a bit of something unique. Skaar pretty much has all the usual Hulk capabilities, but he's also a bit of a sword fighter, wielding a pretty big sword of his own. So maybe he could have stance system where he swaps between fisticuffs and sword-wielding. He's also one of the few Hulks to have control over his transformation, often preferring to stay in Hulk form.
SHE-HULK: Mostly as an alternative pick for a Hulk to make it into MTFS. She, like Laura, has some fighting game history if memory serves, also appearing in UMvC3.
BLADE: In all honesty, it's partly just because I think he could play like lighter and faster Nagoriyuki. Hey, it's not like ArcSys doesn't share ideas between their games. Potemkin from Guilty Gear and Tager from BlazBlue fight very similarly from what I have seen. So, why not a similar enough moveset for Blade and Nagoriyuki? It wouldn't be a whole copy of course, just SOME similar things.
CARNAGE: Why not? I feel like Venom is the more likely pick, but I would prefer Carnage on the roster, as his maybe moveset could be a blade-filled technical Rushdown fighter.
KATE BISHOP: We gotta have a Zoner of some kind, and why not a Zoner that shoots arrows? Kate is a normal human, just wielding a bow and arrows. Or a bow that shoots energy arrows. She could probably play a bit more akin to Happy Chaos with his gun than a standard Zoner, needing good concentration to properly fire.
STATURE: The daughter of Scott Lang, Cassie has the same size based abilities as Ant-Man. She more often uses those powers for growing in size than shrinking, so I think that a neat thing to her gameplay could be that she is probably the tallest character in the game, but as a result, can only single jump, if ArcSys were to implement the double jump mechanic from Guilty Gear.
SPEED: I feel like Speed could be a super speed character a bit like Flash in Injustice or Kabal in Mortal Kombat, having fast attacks that make him hard to hit. Maybe Speed could almost play a bit more like a Rushdown equivalent of Slayer, just with Chipp Zanuff's durability
WICCAN: Just gonna be honest, I think he could play similar enough to Asuka R. Kreutz. Both are powerful mages with a number of spells, but not the toughest of the group.
GRAVITY: Bet some of you weren't expecting this one! I figured if Cloak & Dagger can get into Marvel Rivals, why not Gravity in MTFS? His gimmick could be that he's an average durability Power character. Maybe his Specials are built around him focusing his gravity powers for a strong hit.
SPEEDBALL: Another not probably expected, but at this point, expect some other odd enough choices. Considering his powers are built around absorbing kinetic energy and typically using what is stored for his superhuman feats, why not a meter that shows his stored kinetic energy as part of his gameplay?
That is all I got for now! Hope you all enjoyed, and please, if you feel so inclined, leave your thoughts! I would love to hear some other people's picks/wishlist for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls
