Hmm I am having Thoughts about BJD heads again. This one is really pretty, has elf ears already, and is pretty much the same scale as the Dream Valley Vanora head. It looks a little more realistic in terms of proportions than the Dream Valley head, so I wonder if I got it for Vanora, if it would look like it goes together with the Muhyul head for Faolan than I feel like they do now.

And if not, well I have the Tianba eyes I got from the VIP bag from NYC dollcon i need a doll for (though i was thinking i'd see if i could get a 1/4 scale girl they'd fit...)

But we still don't know if we're moving or not >< I guess I could have it shipped to my parents' just in case

I was very anxious and afraid to speak about this, but I realize that my last posts weren't a good or sufficient way to address what happened. I want to be open about the things that were posted about me and some other community members in February.

However, I don’t want to make this about anyone else who was involved in this conversation, because they are not responsible for anything I said, just as I cannot take responsibility for the words of others and the interpretation thereof. This post is solely about me taking responsibility for my own words.

In a private conversation on discord I made a joke about Aziraphale not understanding asexuality (in a rather aphobic way) that sounds very much like a Sexual Assault joke.

I want to make one thing very clear to the people who don’t know me as closely: I don’t enjoy non-con in any way, neither art nor fic, I don’t believe that ace people need to be “proven wrong” and I’m sorry if I came across this way.

Secondly, I know that making jokes about these topics is very much not funny to a lot of people, but this was clearly a joke made in a safe space among friends and not a public statement of any kind. We all have different filters when talking to those close to us compared to speaking in public. This was never supposed to be an attack on my ace followers and doesn't mean I hate ace people, or that I don’t care about what victims of Sexual Assault go through. To everyone who felt hurt after seeing that screenshot, to everyone who feels disrespected or unsafe because of what I said: I’m sorry.

In the one-and-a-half years that I've been part of the Good Omens fandom, I've always strived to be kind and welcoming to everyone and I will continue to do so in the future as I very much appreciate this about the Good Omens Fandom. I don’t harass, bully or discriminate against anybody and it's sad to see that people would believe such things about me.

On the other hand, I'm honestly shocked how far some particularly bad actors would go, including posting screenshots of private conversations (including the above screenshot), attempts of doxxing me and even trying to compromise my college education by attempting to contact my university in order to slander me, as well as actively sabotaging my thesis project. Something else that clearly crossed all lines was the harassment of completely unrelated people who are in some way associated with me. Dragging innocent people into the drama, for example other artists whose work I reblogged or the mods of a subreddit I posted on just because they tolerated my presence, is not justifiable and absolutely unacceptable, and I do not want anyone to go through these same things I just described.

If you, based on the joke I made, this statement, as well as my general online presence, have the feeling of no longer wanting to support me, you’re free to block me and cancel your Patreon subscription, but this kind of toxicity goes a step too far. 

In the future, I want this blog to continue to be a safe space for joy, inspiration and creativity. Especially in times like these with fascism on the rise in many places in the world, we need to stick together and stop tearing apart our own communities. To anyone who read this far and heard my side of the story, thank you for listening.

This beauty here is my very own custom Monarch Chassis, courtesy of the Smith Shimano Corporation. This thing fields some of the most advanced guidance systems this side of the Long Rim PLUS the explosive ordnance to back it up. Despite its size and relative capacity for destruction, it's actually pretty quick. Being able to rapidly reposition, see over most other mechs and cover, field a wide array of high range weapons, and hack its opponents with its powerful on board computers and sensors, the Monarch makes for an excellent all-arounder run and gun mech. It's most impressive qualities are it's independently targeting Avenger Silos and its COMP/CON assisted seeking payload, a system that fires a missile at a target you can see only when it can absolutely guarantee the strike will be successful and an advanced computing algorithm that allows the Monarch to bypass all cover, armoring and resistances that it's enemies may have.

Now my Cogito is really something special. I've fitted her with some auxiliary concussion missiles of my own design, as well as a custom Smith Shimano ferrofluid paint job. She's also fitted with a good old GMS personal shield which comes in real handy (especially since the power draw starts pushing my reactor a bit which helps to fuel some other "dangerous" and "irresponsibly radioactive" personal modifications I've made to the Cogito).

As far as weapons she's fielding, We're packing a standard GMS Assault Rifle, because even with all the guided missiles in the system, sometimes all you need is a good old fashioned hail of bullets.

The next weapon is some total piece of shit I mounted before realizing that it didn't even work. Some rare piece of equipment some schmuck on the Icebreaker sold me, called it a "Verbal Gun" or something. I hooked it up with an SSC Stabilizer Mod and everything and when I took it down to the firing range to try it out, the damn thing wouldn't go off! Still looks pretty cool and had a decent camera built into the thing so I scrapped the original Monarch receptors and replaced it with that seeing as it was SSC compatible. Doesn't do anything too crazy but ever since I installed it every so often I'll get a pop up of a little guy on my hud when one of my squad mates takes a hit saying he's hungry and a button pops up to feed him some pellets. We'll whenever I press that pellet button the ferrofluid on my mech freaks the hell out and sorta... bites???? A chunk out of whoever just hit my teammate??? I've tried reaching out about it to my SSC contact but the messages never go through for some reason. Regardless, I'm gonna keep feeding him his "snicker-snacks", not just gonna let the poor little guy starve.

And last but not least. The Gandiva Missiles. Self guided rockets that lock onto anything with a computer and don't stop til they've given them a proper knock on the door if you know what I mean. I can hit anything with these bad boys, with or without my eyes closed. Each rocket is wirelessly in contact with the firing platform which is constantly sending and receiving combat data to a COMP/CON Hivemind out in the Core Worlds. In fact, I've gotten a couple messages from my sponsor contacts about some issues they've been having at the hivemind headquarters about some of their COMP/CON units getting infected with some kind of weird virus and that they suspect it may have something to do with my Gandivas in Calliope and their proximity to our unique dialect of COMP/CON (Shout out to my loyal camera man, Keith). Regardless of vocal quirks, this weapon is top of the line SSC firepower that I've been lucky enough to level at a number of Long Rim baddies.

If you are asking me to talk about my private life more... I have a wonderful loving wife! She's my joy and biggest supporter. I hang out with her and my sister a lot as well as a couple other gal friends. I also hang out with a lot of artists that I met when I sold my art at comic cons. I've been really lucky to find a lot of creative people and we inspire each other. Oh, and I'm a mod in a really lovely server where I hang out in the VC while I work on art and am almost never alone. We watch a lot of old/terrible horror movies ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡

I don't think my obsession with Richtofen has prevented me from making friends. If anything I've gotten more friends!!! I think the key to having an enriching social life is just being a kind hearted person. Silly things like having a favorite character and the time/resources to make a bunch of fun stuff celebrating that fandom hasn't prevented me from having friends. Thanks for the question, anon! // Kalosians culturally value the beauty of life and the pleasures in it over slaving away at work for material needs, known as a concept referred to as "joie de vivre" (joy of living). This is reflected within Kalos's society in many ways, one of which being that many companies offer generous vacation policies to employees.

Perhaps the biggest reflection is the region's annual event, locally called "les grandes vacances" (the summer holidays). It's where Kalos as a whole goes on break in a sense, as many people choose to take their vacation in July or August. Closures done in correspondence to les grandes vacances are called "fermeture annuelle" (annual closure).

The intention for the event is so people can spend quality time with family & friends, engage in hobbies, or travel overseas as an opportunity to reconnect with joie de vivre. The event lasts until around the start of September, when schools end their breaks and students return.

While a phenomenon that Kalos is known for, it does of course have many cons. Namely, traffic in the region can get dreadful. It's also inconvenient for tourists to arrive during this event, as many shops or stores they would want to visit will most likely be closed. Locals who choose to stay in Kalos may be inconvenienced like this as well, but it's become tradition for Kalosians to begin preparing for les grandes vacances in advance.

(Yes, emergency services do still remain open in Kalos as they obviously can't be closed. First-responders receive a legally-required pay raise from their employers during the two month event for compensation.)

All of this is based off of actual IRL info relating to France! Sorry in advance if there are errors or inaccuracies, the mod lives in the U.S. and tried to look at many sources online. But do keep in mind: the Pokemon World is very different and idealized compared to the real world. Everything doesn't have to (and frankly shouldn't) line up perfectly.

What is Cohawk Week and, uh...why is it called Cohawk?

Listen, portmanteau ship names are all the rage and not only is Wooley's defining characteristic in canon his mohawk, but I do love a good pun. So...Cody + Mohawk = Cohawk.

Cohawk week is an event for fandom creators in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars fandom. It celebrates the relationship between Commander Cody and Clone Trooper Wooley in any and all forms including (but not limited to): sexual, romantic, platonic, and subject to the command structure of the GAR.

When is Cohawk Week?

Cohawk Week 2025 begins Sunday, September 28 and runs through Saturday October 4.

Will you accept late works?

Yes, the collection on AO3 will remain open until October 31st and the Cohawk-Canoe Tumblr account will reblog works tagged with the #cohawk week 2025 tag for 10 days after the end of the event.

What kinds of fan works are welcome for Cohawk Week?

All types of fan works are welcome; fic, podfic, digital art, traditional art...anything you create is great.

Do I have to make something for each day of the week?

Absolutely not! You are free to create (or read/take in) fan works for one day or for all of them.

Can I mix and match prompts?

You can, but please post them on the day of the latter prompt. For example, if you take a prompt from Day 1 and combine it with a prompt from Day 4, the work should be posted on Day 4. If you are posting multi-chapter fics that mix and match prompts, please try to match your posting dates to the prompt days as closely as possible and add an author's note if they do not align.

Can other characters (or ships) be included?

Yes, but please keep the focus on Cody and Wooley in whatever form you see their relationship taking and please tag appropriately for all ships and characters.

Are NSFW/Explicit works allowed?

Explicit works are allowed (and encouraged), but MUST be tagged properly on AO3 and labeled with the appropriate Major Archive Warnings. Tumblr contributions must also be properly tagged and have appropriate community labels applied.

Where is Cohawk Week happening?

There is a collection on AO3 that is cleverly titled Cohawk Week 2025 and a tumblr named Cohawk Canoe (because it's bigger than a pool noodle, but not actually a ship yet). Without the intent of harshing anyone's buzz, I am the only mod for this event and would prefer that works not include the following: animal cruelty, non-con, graphic violence involving characters under the (species equivalent) age of 16 (8 for clones), and sexual content involving characters under the (species equivalent) age of 16 (8 for clones)

This is a matter of personal preference, not moral judgement. Please do write any of the above if that is what brings you joy and please share them far and wide outside of Cohawk Week.

can i rant to you about the switch 2..?

I’m going to keep it short but i recommend reading articles and such if you’re really interested in learning more about this :3

1. you can’t mod your Nintendo switch 2 or Nintendo will deactivate it, instead of getting banned. ex: let’s say your joy-cons aren’t working. You decide to try and fix it! if you set off the alarm, say goodbye to your switch 2

2. YOU CANT SUE THEM !! if you try to sue them for sending you a faulty switch 2, you just can’t. It’s in the updated tos that dropped a little bit ago

Been working on again off again on a Xenogears portrait mod for two years now, started in Sept 2021 right before I actually finished the game for the first time. Some time ago I started adding upscaled (hand painted) versions of UI elements, so I guess its now a general texture pack I'm working on.

Its done through RetroArch's Beetle PSX HW core real-time texture replacer.

My goal with this is to make a texture pack that stays very true to the original look of the game. I don't want to redesign elements, impose too much of my own influence into it, and make the game look like it had an identity crisis. I still want it to look like Xenogears in the end, just upscaled, and where the portraits are concerned I want it to look as close to the original artwork as possible, with no scanning artifacts and low res quality- as if we actually had digital versions of Tanaka's original artwork.

Also, this isn't intended to be super high res 4k or anything, idc about that.

Figured I'd make a full post here going over everything I've done so far. I'm on the home stretch! Just a few more left.

⬆ Starting with UI. I replaced the red selection arrow, the red/grey spheres, save block icon, save/load text/bar, Walk/Gear icons (more about that one later), compass cardinal points (was unable to get a proper dump of the circular compass texture), and the dialogue diamond and selection diamond within menus.

I totally get it if someone wouldn't want to use something like the dialogue diamond, as you see it all the time right beside the pixelated text and it seems to stand out more in dialogue vs the one in menuing bc your attention is typically focused elsewhere while menuing. In the end, all changes are optional and to remove something all you have to do is move/delete the equivalent img file from the texture replacement folder. Within said folder I have a sub-folder titled "alternate portraits" where I keep alts and things I want to "disable" without outright deleting.

⬆ In combat UI I've replaced the HP/dmg numbers, the Time/AP/numbers, battle palette text (used for other text as well), the circle and tags of the battle palette, Time/AP/fuel bars, green Gear text and numbers, Gear attack level/♾ indicator, black Gear UI backgrounds, and combo icons. The red arrows have been replaced, but unfortunately the black arrows around the red cannot be replaced based on how the game does it; it is not a texture you can change, it is a triangular shaped box that the game fills with the black texture from behind Gear UI.

⬆ Menu/gameplay buttons. Also numbers/"points/fuel/cancel end" Someone mentioned playing with a switch pro controller or joy-cons so I threw an ABXY version together as an alternate button display option. Used the same typeface as the combo icons to keep some consistency with a typeface already in-use as well as for overall clarity.

⬆ Also, DB icons, EP/Fuel/Miss text, and "total damage". Unfortunately, the other DB icons (showing the △🞪☐ highlighted) cannot be replaced as far as I can tell. The battle UI textures (the 17 or so textures of the same thing in varying hues) shows them on it, but changing them in each one of these textures does not change the icons. It does not pull from these specific texture dumps, in other words; its just one of those that doesn't dump, like the circular compass texture.

⬆ In working on the Walk/Gear icons I wasn't sure exactly how I'd go about doing it because the original is literally just that tiny. So I had the idea of putting a little Fei & Weltall in it, outlined by the same grey. Thought it might be weird in the other party members' menus, idk, and I don't like changing things too much from the original, so I decided to just use Fei/Weltall as the grey silhouettes instead. Ill keep the Fei/Weltall one as an alt option if anyone wants to use it.

⬆ And the minimap. Kept B&W so that the colored dots (indicators of where all you can enter an area) aren't difficult to see. I do have a colored version as an alt, though. Credit to Adelinold for having ripped the 3D maps and made a bird's eye view "minimap" esque screenshot of the world map some years back because it is absolutely perfect for use here.

Now onto portraits, the main bulk of the work. This includes dialogue portraits, menu portraits, and gameplay portraits. I go through each one individually, find the highest quality version of the art, and clean it up manually, painting over it to get rid of any jpg rot, scanning artifacts, or print dots from scans while keeping it as close to the artwork as possible. In order to keep colors consistent across the board (because scans of the artwork can vary) I'm picking from the sprites. One portrait typically takes 2.5+ hours, not including testing them in-game. Each one needs to be tested in-game and edited to make sure semi-transparent pixels around the portraits don't result in black or white pixels in the area that should be transparent.

⬆ Direct comparison to the sprites. I'm not too strict about how I match how much of the art is shown, but in instances like this I like to show more of the character than the pixelated portraits allowed for. However, this wouldn't work for everyone as Fei's default portrait is also used when Kim is naked from the hips up.

For the Captain I specifically wanted to get his pipe within frame. Typically the portraits end just behind their ear, have the eyes at 1/2 to 2/3 height, and end just above the clavicle.

⬆ Some portraits like Kim and Elly have no artwork equivalent, but were pretty basic to make with the artwork of Fei & Elly that we do have.

⬆ Other characters have no artwork equivalent whatsoever, like Stein and Wel-Gear Hammer. For Stein I had to take the collar from Stone's artwork and paint something from scratch using Stein's sprite as reference. This one was more fun to do than I expected because its a special case, entirely different from all of the other portraits. For example, usually the artwork has 4 colors for skin- base color, shadow color, deep shadow color (usually seen directly under the chin, used sparingly), and a highlight color for on the nose or lip. But with Stein his skin had many different colors you could pick from the sprite and no equivalent artwork to limit yourself in how many there actually are. So in trying to get it looking just right it took something like 7 different shades of varying pink, red, and orange. It clearly has more dynamic shading compared to all of the other portraits.

For Wel-Gear Hammer... I did my best given what all I could see was even happening in the sprite.

⬆ I made a close eyed Elly portrait as there is no artwork of it and a bomb collar Fei and Hammer portrait using the bomb collar in Rico's art. Its fun playing around with them when there is no equivalent artwork.

⬆ Made an unsmiling Citan to mirror his unsmiling dialogue sprite vs his smiling menu sprites as well as alt Krelians to better match the expression of his mouth that the sprite has vs the artwork. (sprites are always a bit stretched compared to the artwork, btw. even when you rip them from the disc)

⬆ I'm also working on alternate versions, like a two-eyed Bart I did for fun.

It is finished! 1.0 anyway. Right in time for the North American 25th Anniversary! I just gotta get it uploaded somewhere.

I'll continue to work on the ones that I think still need more work, but for now even the ones that are in rougher shape are passable.

Ill have two versions of the mod- one with stretched and cropped portraits that work in 4:3 (much like the sprite portrait bmps in the base-game that end up looking fine in true 4:3. they kind of end up blurrier due to stretching the artwork) (with Crop Overscan set to None) and another version which isn't stretched or cropped so its as crisp as I could get them, but in order to get them to display the image exactly as they are in-game without squishing you need Crop Overscan set to Static (removes horizontal padding) which makes it just slightly off 4:3. Honestly, to the untrained eye its hard to tell it isn't 4:3. 🤷‍♀️ The only thing you might notice it really affecting would be the animated cutscenes.

I'll make a master post for the mod itself, separate from this. This'll end up being a bit of a time capsule for me.

$450 for the base console is….a lot. Reasonable, but a lot. And hey, it’s certainly cheaper than the competition.

But the games, that’s the real issue here. $80 for Mario Kart, and $70 for Donkey Kong is outrageous. And crazy thing is, that was pre-tariffs! Which is a perfect segway intooooooo….

So the Nintendo Switch console is sticking to its price on launch day. But what this does mean is that the accessories, like the joy-cons and controllers are now bumped up more. They were already expensive enough with the Switch 1, but now the controllers are going for damn near $90?!

Being able to visit my grandpa again in azerbaijan and celebrating his birthday 🤲💕

It was also cool to have my first job but to be real. Best part was ofc receiving money KWVDJJWD my colleagues were kind but my superior with whom I interacted the most had such a... idk heavy, stressed, negative aura. I hope she is doing well but god, that made me so anxious. Social anxiety was NOT helping. So yeah, quitting felt also amazing uwu

UHHH, ALL THE ZINES I WORKED ON, now that is truly one of the highlights. I love working on zines (even tho I'm a chronic procastinator, god help me) but yh, the 9S2B zine was especially a joy to work on as a Mod ♥️

Monk-Way of the Ascendant Dragon

Hailing from a small, isolated village in the eastern mountains, she grew up and trained with the monks whose temple was a hardy hike above the valley. She'd led a simple life with daily chores, meditation, and training in the martial arts they had to offer. When she wasn't training or helping the giant folk as part of her chores, she could often be found working on small paintings of people and the surrounding landscapes.

But as she grew older, the stories of adventure she had read in her youth seemed to pull more and more at her soul, urging her to set forth on her very own path of discovery. Though she did not want to leave the only family she'd known behind, this wanderlust was too great to ignore, and so she spoke to her master to ask for permission.

As it so happened, there was a pilgrimage that monks of their order used to take up in decades past, though it had not been attempted for quite some time by any. It would be long and arduous, but a journey that would surely help her to grow and become all that she might be destined to.

Journey to all of the temples across the continent, large and small, to share and learn what she could. Then at the end, return home. Her 18th birthday only a month away, she took that time to prepare for the pilgrimage, and for the last week, the village threw a celebration for both her birthday and as a send-off to the start of this brand new adventure.

And at the dawn of the last day, she set off with high spirits and joy in her step.

What will this journey truly hold in store for her, who can say? But surely, it shall be an adventure to remember.
