JRWIBLR DISABILITY WEEK INTEREST CHECK !!!

hello !! this is an interest check for potentially holding a disabled jrwi character week !!! Similar to the character weeks held in the past (such as the fnc week or ghostknife week) each day of the week would have a prompt centered around being disabled.

Anyone would be able to join, disabled or not ! It would probably be held in August (but the poster would come out a month in advance to give people time to work on their ideas) and I think it would be a really fun way to highlight disabled voices and rep in the jrwi community :]

don't get me wrong I ADORE all the fashionista and goth/emo designs for the prime defenders, a+, fantastic work, I love it. I headcanon they are absolutely very plain teens.

William oscillates between two maybe three hoodies total. one week they were pretty sure he just didn't change his clothes. I bet this guy has slept in jeans before. never seen with anything other than scuffed jeans and a hoodie. he's the kind of guy that would be so sweaty in the summer but refuses to take off the sweater. one time he wore a zip up sweater and revealed the stupidest graphic tee anyone has ever seen in their life.

Dakota tries to wear as little clothes as is possible at all times. basketball shorts and a tank top with the armholes cut so far down it's barely a shirt anymore. if tide bugs him enough he'll throw on a zip up sweater when it's cold but nine times out of ten it ends up tied around his waist after a few hours. he refuses to wear anything other than basketball shorts. he's that guy. we all knew one.

Vyncent is never seen in a shirt that doesn't have the strangest text youve ever seen or those nigh indecipherable metal band logos (he has not listened to the music he just likes the design) and baggy sweatpants because he can't move as freely in jeans. he has one (1) sweater for when it's cold.

none of them wear jackets or coats in the winter.

MY CHIP'S MAGIC TATTOOS HEADCANON!!!!

LIKE OH MY GOD—

Whenever Chip argues with Jay or Gill, they'd ask him out of nowhere, "Why are you angry?" and, almost in denial, he'd say, "NO, I'M NOT!" BUT they would still take notice of the flames creeping up his face, crackling audibly, even when he stays silent and withdrawn from a situation.

And let's talk about when Gill attempts to cup Chip's head in his hands and kiss him on the forehead... AND SO Chip gets sooo incredibly embarrassed that he'd almost burn Gill's palms off LMAO.

And when Chip feels down, the crew would notice the flames receding, hardly extending beyond his collarbone. The tattoos would appear unmoving, slightly faded, no longer emanating their usual warmth.

GOOD GOD, I JUST ADORE THE CONCEPT OF HIS TATTS GIVING OFF SOME MORE WARMTH—

At the Black Sea, his tattoos would remain small, subdued, and almost unmoving. Yet, when the captains huddle together for a nap, the tattoos would slowly gain back their vibrant colors and comforting warmth. It's just as if knowing that his captains are resting safe and sound beside him is enough...

I think Jay would sleep with her back turned to him, his arm supporting her head while her hands are gently clasped around his forearm. Perhaps she does it only to keep them warm, but maybe it's because that warmth somehow feels familiar. And in those quiet moments, she can't help but reminisce about Ava's fiery hair slipping through her fingers, making her remember times when they used to braid each other's hair before drifting off to sleep.

On the other side, Gillion would absolutely just wrap himself around Chip, loving the warmth that envelops him. Because waking up in that comforting sensation reminds him of the times he fell asleep on the deck after training, waking up to the gentle warmth of the sun on his skin. Their warmth now simply remind him of sunlight, something he deeply misses seeing...

Love that Grefgore is a peasant from medieval Europe who has no idea what a television is, but happens to also have enough pop-culture knowledge to make WWE references and say that LA is "just like the movies".

My theory/headcanon is that he has a friend in the royal guard who was embraced far more recently. They tune in to watch wrestlemania together when it airs. They tried to explain how film reels worked back in 1930, but gave up.

chip would absolutely have making food for people as his love language. its horrible, honestly worrying type depression food. cuz he does not know how to cook. but. he does it. cuz he spent most of his childhood not knowing when hed get his next meal. at first, when he got a stable food source, hed just hoard a lot, but it got rotten and it made him so sad to see all that food go to waste, so he got back on his feet pretty quickly. to this day tho, making and sharing food is still is main love language.

also gill is too polite to refuse his “cooking” or comment on the taste because how would he know what good oversea food taste like ? and hes wayy to polite to refuse.

jay roasted the shit out of him at first, but got softer once she noticed how much it meant to him.

gillion is green-red colorblind. and I'd just like to say that my first headcanon for gil(around episodes 5-10 I think) was that because of the dark sea, Triton evolved with something similar to protanopia colorblindness and dark vision(which I think is canon). as much as a want gil to be a shrimp I think we should leave that to Caspian. it would make for some silly bonding moments

I like to think when Edyn emerged from the sea, it was sunrise and she saw the most beautiful pinks and oranges in the sky as the sun raised before the usual soft blue coated the sky and she finally understood why Finn adored the oversea so much

I’ve got artist Gillion on the mind, so what better way than to start off with a really sweet hc idea?

Jay works best when Gillion’s around, it’s simply normal, even if he tends to be a bit destructive and lead to some of her inventions taking more time. It’s just something normal that Jay likes.

After Gillions book and his slow descent into the arts the best time for him to start drawing is whenever Jay gets inventing. Jay will work at a desk or a flat surface while Gillion will usually improvise anywhere to draw. Sometimes they will have conversation together, Jay detailing what she’s working on and Gillion listening in amazement or Gillion will describe what he’s drawing or talk about any little thing that fascinates him and Jay will always encourage him to keep going with a question. Sometimes they just sit in silence together invested in their work.

It’s something nice for both of them. They even like to ‘co-lab’, Gillion will draw a random invention idea (the functionality and the realistic details don’t matter) and Jay will try her best to explain how she could potentially make it. Jay also will give Gillion prompts sometimes, giving him a series of mechanical ideas for him to try and create in art just to see how he imagines it versus her. They have fun with it.

Bonus, Chip can play guitar. While Jay is quietly working on an invention and Gillion is focused drawing sometimes Chip will come over with a guitar and start playing. They even sing together, Chip and Jay teach Gillion the words and they try to follow all together. While Chip plays Jay may start humming along while Gillion works on trying to draw either or both of them in their focused mindsets.

I may try and draw this at some point.

And…Imagine if…each of the albatrio’s older sisters (or older sister figure for Chip) were leading their own sort of revolution…

Like we know about Lizzie, obviously. We know that she is building her army to fight back against the navy, waving that jolly roger high and that pirate pride even higher.

But what about Edyn? What if she’s some undersea revolutionary while Gillion’s out being an oversea hero. The Elders flit about frantically, because more undersea citizens are leaving their quote “unjust” system and they banished their champion so who will lead the undersea to salvation now? They don’t know, they don’t know about the champion’s sister, a birthmark gifted by the moon herself blessing her face and propaganda of a better world, a better sea, with no elders and no more children being sent off to fight a nation’s battles.

And Ayva? Did she spend the little life she had fighting? Did she realise how much the the Navy—her father—was hurting her mother, her sister, her people? She is a Ferin for gods’ sake, and she will brand that family crest proudly when she breaks this awful system that has pulled millions into despair.

And fine, if she dies, she will die fighting for the better.

JRWI: Riptide- Karaoke Night

(the links are to Spotify. i have a very limited music taste, so if you have other suggestions for songs i’d love them!! this is also both the Riptide and Grandberry pirates, even though they aren’t always together in canon :3)

Jay: Drunk, probably, having a great time and dancing along to every song even if she isn’t singing. Enthusiastically doing all of the clapping bits for other songs. She chooses to sing My Type by Saint Motel, and gets really into it, dancing as she’s singing. She’s also a Certified Expert at the White Person Dance (you know the one), and forces Lizzy to sing a couple songs with her on stage, probably something like I Think We’re Alone Now by Tiffany. They also dance together for Dancing Queen, and right after Lizzy gives her a flustered hug before mumbling about a drink and quickly walking away, blushing hard.

Chibo: Uses the magic bandana to change appearance for every song, and drags Jay and Lizzy up to sing with him a couple times. Lizzy makes him sing Highway to Hell by ACDC at least once, and she loses her shit when he starts fully dancing onstage, trips, and smacks his forehead on a doorframe. He’s not a fantastic singer, but he puts his whole chussy into it and everyone cheers along for him. He also sings Bad Romance by Lady Gaga and I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. Chip probably sings the most out of everyone.

Gillion: He’s having a great time, having Bro Time with John and Caspien, and dancing to every song despite having do idea how to do oversea dances. Oliver throws him a couple times, both into the water and into the air, and Gillion then falls onto the deck and yells victoriously. He semi-sucessfully does a backflip. He then sings Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler, and sings You Belong with Me by Taylor Swift with Chip after Chip not-so-subtly asks him to join him. Chip is an adamant Swiftie, and later they do Love Story too. Gil doesn’t have a great singing voice, and has almost no pitch at all, but he makes up for it with enthusiasm. He does a keg stand, as always, then challenges Caspien to a friendly duel, where they do drunk hydromancy unsupervised. It goes about as well as you’d expect. Later, he sits with Chip and watches Jay repeatedly make Lizzy sing with her. His hand rests casually over Chip’s, and they share a soft smile.

Pretzel: plays Tequila

Oliver: Oliver is extremely nervous, but very excited, to try Karaoke. He sings I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas, and everyone cheers so loudly for him, he’s giggling and has tears in his eyes by the time the next person is up. He sings with Chip a couple times, once with Lizzy, who dances with him onstage. Jay also does a song with him, and he looks painfully nervous the entire time, so she tries to ease the tension by inviting Gillion up. Jay also tries to teach him some breakdancing moves (why is that talent canon), and he picks it up pretty quickly. 

Lizzy: Does Not want to sing, but is easily swayed once she’s a little tipsy. She complains loudly the entire time, then sings like 4 songs in a row, a couple with Jay, some with Caspien, and one with Chip. The first song she picks is Space Girl by Frances Forever, and she avoids looking at Jay the entire time she’s singing it. Lizzy has a surprisingly nice, soft singing voice, and she’s genuinely talented once she gets over the initial awkwardness of Karaoke. She is the first one, but not the only one, to sing Dancing Queen by ABBA.

Caspien: He’s down to try, and mostly sings with other people. The only one he does alone is by I Wish by Skee-Lo, and Gillion and John cheer so loudly for him, they go hoarse for a couple minutes. Gillion lights up his sword to smite and makes a light show effect for his performance.

Marshall John: He likes the classics of Karaoke, and he does Dancing Queen too. He also does Don’t Stop Believing by Journey, and Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler with Gillion. He eventually does a couple songs with Oliver and then Lizzy, then Mamma Mia by ABBA alone. He is a proud ABBA stan, surprisingly enough. Oliver shouts the “FUCK” part of the song (think like michaelmcchill), and everyone absolutely loses it. John can’t even sing the rest of the chorus bc he’s laughing so hard, and he claps Oliver on the back when he’s done. Oliver goes bright pink.

Gryffon: He adamantly refuses to sing, but eventually agrees once Chip, Pretzel, and Crab collectively make puppydog eyes at him. He sings Where Did The Party Go by Fallout Boy, and absolutely BODIES it. Like this man is so unironically talented, he’s just kinda standing there on stage while everyone listens, jaws on the floor. He also sings a duet with Pretzel on Tequila, and Chip tries to dance with him. It ends up with Chip dancing his heart out, pointing to Gryffon for a couple seconds, who is standing still, whooping, then going back to dancing. Gryffon also joins in on throwing Gillion a couple times, and shoots him with a lazer, much to everyone’s entertainment.

And of course, they end off the night with Hole in Your Heart! Everyone is half-asleep at that point, and Gillion is fully drunk and has his arm around Chip. Oliver plays the cowbell. Lizzy is passed out, and Jay quietly sings along while putting a blanket over her. Caspien knows about half the words, and kind of follows enthusiastically. Gryffon looks extremely confused but rolls with it. Alphons, southern, acts as a disco ball.
