Sorry not sorry, I've seen some crazy age gap discourses in my time but the idea of problematic age gap ships in Ghosts fandom is fucking hilarious.

So is Capthorne problematic because Thomas is physically younger than Cap? Or because Thomas is over a hundred years older than Cap??

Is Chess Husbands problematic because Julian in in his 40s and Robin is canonically 23 or because Robin's thousands of years older than Julian? Or does no one give a shit about that one because Robin is played by a guy in his late forties?!

Then there's Electric Fire (Robin x Mary), I mean Robin probably watched Mary grow up from a child if her village was on the land but then she's also middle aged when she dies and then sleeps with a 23 year old so which bit we getting mad at? 😂

I'm also curious if any of this comes up in the US Ghosts fandom considering how many characters in that are doing it canonically.

Ohhohoooho this is a question I will very much enjoy answering, thank you! I will go fandom by fandom from most recent hyperfixation to past ones that I still love and regard fondly as one might a nice ornament on the mantle piece

Ghosts, specifically Cap (romance/queerplatonic):

Capvers: a classic, 99.9% confidence interval on being canon, love fics which explore it in the timeframe or in modern AUs. Can’t go wrong with it

PatCap: the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one. 10/10. They’re both human, they both have faults and they love each other because of them and not despite them.

Caphrey (or deCAPitation, source unknown for this genius name): Humphrey can smooth out Cap’s rough edges in a different way to Pat. I love Humphrey, he tried so hard. So did Cap. I love their potential for comfort and understanding in a different way to others.

JuliCap: the Captain deserves to feel good and feel sexy and I think this Julian would be a great for exploring his sexuality in a more adventurous way. I have a real soft spot for JuliCap and have made tentative plans for a beast!Julian and beauty!Cap fic in the future.

CapRroh: Robin has just so much depth to him, he’s seen a lot and he knows the Cap has been through it too. So much comfort potential here (bonus points for JuliCapRroh polycule, absolutely delicious)

CapThorne: I just think it’s neat! Let Cap be wooed! Let Thomas be moved away from his infatuation with Alison and realise that he’s in love with the idea of being in love with her and not actually in love with Alison herself!

Special mention to Alison and Mike to being a genuinely wonderful on-screen couple, Chess Husbands, Pat/Julian and Annie/Mary (my beloveds)

Kitty and Captain: their friendship means so much for me. Kitty and Cap finding a reassuring and understanding presence in each other, learning with each other, overcoming their trauma’s together and just finding safety.

Cap and Fanny: the gin and gossip society of Button House. Also regularly joined by Humphrey (who is also a massive gossip).

Kitty and Fanny: I can’t put this into words other than to say that Kitty would drag Fanny kicking and screaming into the future. Fanny doesn’t call Cap or Robin for tech support, she calls Kitty. Mary too.

Nanami Kento/Gojo Satorou: this ship makes me feel so many things. God I love it.

Also I love the different dynamic of mentor-student relationship between Nanami and Yuji, very much coloured by what happened to Haibara.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

39 on AO3 (I’ve still got so many I never bothered to port across and probably never will 😅 All of my new stuff goes on here though!)

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

512,495 uploaded so far (though I’ve got quite a backlog still to edit and upload).

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Wonka (2023), Undertale, BNHA, You me and the Apocalypse at the moment. Maybe I’ll go back to MCU, LoTR and Witcher someday. I am really, really tempted to start writing for more Mathew Baynton related fandoms; I am utterly obsessed with Ghosts at the moment as a reader 😅 I need more Thomas/Pat, Thomas/Julian, and Pat/Cap in my life! 🔥

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Twelve steps - 2,927 kudos - MCU, post civil-war, following the twelve steps of grief after a physical injury changes Tony’s life forever. 

Unleashed - 1,274 kudos - Undertale, fellswap, shameless reader/Mutt/BlackBerry BDSM fic.

I now do my best to respond to every comment I get on every fic. I used to worry it was weird or annoying, but now I just try and focus on showing my appreciation for anyone that takes the time and effort to comment on my silly things.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ooooh gosh, either Twelve Steps (kind of a hopefully ending at least), Dark Deeds and Bitter Choices (my first finished and shared dove), or possibly Three Strikes (which I will go back to write an even darker follow-on at some point). 

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Aaaa what even is happiness? Probably (Pure) Imagination; it’s just smut with a very open but happy ending. Or The Most (Un)Romantic Day of the Year (which I should up uploading in early April '24).

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I got some for one of my Undertale fics where people hadn’t fully read the tags 🥲 That fic hasn’t been finished but hopefully I’ll go back to it one day. 

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I mainly write smut now 😅 80-90% of that is some kink of BDSM, fetish, or kink related smut. A real mix of long fics and one-shots. I feel more comfortable writing smut than I do fluff at this point!

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I have started writing them again. At the moment, Wonka (2023) x You, Me and the Apocalypse (2016) is probably the most recent strange one? I’m also working on something Wonka (2023) x Ghosts (2019) at the moment, possibly with a bit of Spy (2011) and You, Me and the Apocalypse (2016) thrown in, but I'm not sure yet if I'll actually upload that one or not.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I’m aware of 🤞

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I believe Twelve Steps was translated into Russian but that’s it. 

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have not, but I’d absolutely love to! 👀

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

At the moment? Felix Fickelgruber x Willy Wonka (2023); it used to be Duo x Treize x Zechs 😅 but even back then that was a rare pairing to find 😅 I’m not sure if I’ve got an all-time favourite ship anymore; I prefer specific tags to ships. I’ll read anything sugar daddy or most healthy RACK/SSCK BDSM-related fics. Oh! Or anything with good, detailed aftercare.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

It’s not looking great for Unforgivable 😢 maybe some day I'll go back to it.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I have no shame when it comes to smut. I’ll try writing (almost) anything at least once. 

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Repetition. So, so much repetition. Editing is not my strong suit, though I try my best.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It can be interesting if done well? Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it adds much to the story and can just slow things down for the readers (especially if there is no translation provided).

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Gundam Wing as a literal child back in the 00s 😅

20. Favourite fics you’ve written?

Sugar Daddy? Call Me (Sir) has to be my absolute favourite just because it introduced me to so, so many amazing new fandom friends along with my absolute favourite discord server of all time.

His (Darkness) is the one I’m most excited about writing at the moment.

For A Moment is probably the one I most want to go back and do a sequel for, I feel far too bad about leaving Felix in that situation.

Dark Deeds and Bitter Choices is probably one of my absolute favourites (and ironically one of my least kudos’d multi-chapter fics); I think it’s just a bit too dark for the fandom which I totally get. 

(Pure) Imagination is the one that helped me get back into writing again, so it's got a special place in my heart.

Fixer Upper (Hangman x Reader)

Summary: Who said girls can’t help fix the car?

“Alright turd blossom,” Jake muttered under his breath as he turned the socket wrench. “You’re gonna cooperate with me one way or another.” 

He was a mess, a complete filthy mess with oil and black stains all over his skin, his white-beater and his dark washed jeans from endless hours of working on that ‘67 Impala that he and the guys had found at the junkyard just a few days prior. The thing was an utter nightmare, needing one thing after the other as far as parts, paint and tires were concerned. How Bob and Payback had even gotten it into the garage was a complete mystery to him. 

Jake hummed along to the song playing from the radio, blurting out the words as he knew them and remembered them, the songs bringing back memories of his middle school mixtapes. 

He didn’t even notice the slapping of small sandals on the concrete floor until he felt the urgent tugging of his pantleg. When he looked over, there was Molly, his small, redheaded daughter in her denim shorts and her American flag tank top. God she was adorable.......adorable, but feral as hell. 

“Hey princess,” Jake greeted happily. “Where you been? I haven’t seen you all day.” 

“Geneva and Auggie and I beat up a bully at the playground!” Molly declared proudly. 

Jake was stuck somewhere between being proud of her but also fearing the wrath of the parent. “Who was the bully?” he asked. 

“Julian,” Molly chirped. “And his mean sister.” 

Ah so it had been Julian and Brianna Roach they had gone after. Jake knew of them and knew them well along with their bitchy mother, Hillary. He smiled a little knowing what would come later. God forbid the witch should catch your aunt if she ever came down his way. 

“Did they come at you first?”

“Yeah,” Molly said. “Brianna pulled Geneva’s hair.” 

Jake kept his musings to himself as he kept turning the wrench. “Ok,” he said. “You come here and you can help.” 

Molly pushed her small wooden stepstool up against the tire of the car, watching her father as he worked. “Wanna get Daddy’s tools when he needs’em?” 

“YEAH!” Molly shouted. 

Molly helped him until the noon sun began to fade well into evening, getting things that Jake needed out of his toolbox and even putting them in where they belonged. It wasn’t long before Molly had smears of black grime on her face, clothes and little hands but neither she or Jake ever cared. 

“Aw shit,” he joked. “This is Daddy’s JAM!!!” 

He picked a giggling Molly up and placed her on the shelf of the work bench as the radio blared the song. He picked up his beat up old Navy baseball cap and placed it backwards on her head, tickling her sides to get a laugh out of her, singing the words with her. 

“ Check it out, I'm the C-A-S-AN, the O-V-A and the rest is F-L-Y You see, I go by the code of the doctor of the mix and these reasons I'll tell you why You see I'm six foot one and I'm tons of fun and I dress to a D You see I got more clothes than Muhammad Ali and I dress so viciously I got bodyguards, I got two big cars, that definitely ain't the whack I got a Lincoln continental and a sunroof Cadillac So after school, I take a dip in the pool, which is really on the wall I got a color TV so I can see the Knicks play basketball Hear me talking 'bout checkbooks, credit cards, more money than a sucker could ever spend But I wouldn't give a sucker or a bum from the Rucker, not a dime 'til I made it again “

Jake tickled her again, scooping her right up in his arms and littering her dirty cheeks with kisses until she turned red in the face from laughing. “Alright my mini Muhammad Ali,” he said. “Let’s go get cleaned up. Mommy’s probably got dinner waiting.” 

Into the house they went with Jake bringing her up the stairs to the bathroom and setting her right down in the bathtub. “Stay put,” he told her. 

He had just been about to leave when he caught you in the hall. “Ah! No!” you told him. “You two are absolutely filthy.” 

“Babe I’ll strip as soon as she’s had a bath,” he chuckled. 

“Ok give her a bath and then it’s straight for the mudroom with you,” you told him. 

Jake laughed as he helped Molly strip off her dirty clothes, tossing them in the laundry basket in the hall. It took everything in his power to get all the dirt and grim off of her, but as soon as he had her dried off and in a fresh set of clothes, he could finally get himself cleaned off. 

As soon as he was ready, he followed Molly as she barreled down the stairs to her twin sister Missy. He didn’t even need to say anything as you looked up at him. For the both of you, it was moments like these that made life worth living.

Fell in love with this pairing in the peach milk fic, i CANNOT EXPAIN this??? But i just lve how soft robin can be and i think thomas would do well with that. Also having someone who’s a bit more blase about monogamy could help thomas calm down a bit with how obsessive he is (or it could of course backfire and make him sad :c ) also i feel robins pranking/little shit-ness could go well with toms dramatics IF he let himself.

This one was DIFFICULT. I love burnt bread ok annie/mary is absolute soulmate shit. Its funny bc at the start of ghosts i did think kitty/mary was very cute, but between a growing fondness for kitmas and my LOVE for annie/mary i lost interest. I personally perfer this trio as annie/mary and their bestie kitty? But i do think the potential is cute as fuck and i an happy to be convinced of an ot3!!!!!!

Its a shame bc they have SUCH little interraction in canon :( i cry about that every day. But i think they would work and actually work WELL. Ok my opinion on cap/mike. I do love the concept of this, but i do believe its one sided? Its hard to imagine mike falling for a ghost in general bc he cant see or interract with them in any way (hence i dont mind robin/julian/mike bc they kind of can have a bit of a chat and a joke). HOWEVER cap is canonically attracted to mike at the start of the series so hell yeah if that continued and developed that would be so good. The consequences of him being in love with mike would be excellent at any stage - pre-realisation of his sexuality would be incredible to watch, and it would maybe help him realise. It would be interesting to compare an infatuation with mike to one with havers and see the differences, esp if mike was mid/post realisation. I do think mike would be good mates tho. Just a vibe i have. I would love to see them interract so much. ALSO!!!!! I think the paralell of cap and fanny both having a thing for mike would be SO FUCKING FUNNY. Both of them sat bitching about it like “why me” “why me? Why HIM?” And “he lifted that box of silverware the other day and i fell through a wall.”

opinion — they’re canon, your honour! adorable couple with an amazing dynamic with both roots in canon and a fandom that creates some incredible stuff for them. love our smut loving gorgeous Georgian lady and her sopping wet poet boyfriend 10/10

they are each other’s biggest hype-men and will be cheering each other on loudly and unashamedly no matter what the other is actually doing

thomas could be reciting the world’s worst poetry and kitty will still applaud and encourage him with everything she has

whenever kitty starts singing, thomas will stop what he’s doing to listen to her and he always says she has the most beautiful singing voice

they’re always giving each other goo-goo eyes and being overly physically affectionate (pat and cap think it’s kinda sweet but julian and fanny are not the biggest fans of their pda)

always touching in some way: holding hands, interlocking their arms at the elbow, side hugs, regular hugs, sitting on each other’s laps, etc.

they use very traditional sappy nicknames with each other (e.g. “darling”, “angel”, “my love” and things along those lines)

they get alison to make/buy gifts for each other on anniversaries, birthdays, death days, holidays and even just randomly

alison’s happy to help, mike is just confused and their wallet is not best pleased about the whole thing

kitty is the only one who can comfort thomas on his death day

they’re both very big on traditional romantic gestures (as that’s what they knew in life), so grand speeches, handkerchief and fan language and curated bouquets of flowers (courtesy of alison, of course) are common for them

when it comes to traditions like mistletoe, kitty is much more active and will drag thomas to wherever it’s set up and kiss him whilst thomas is more passive and will wait for her under the plant

when thomas is being especially dramatic, he’ll lay over kitty’s lap and give his speech whilst she’s stroking his hair and humming sympathetically (even if she doesn’t really get what upset him) — which calms him down quickly

kitty is thomas’ muse and he composes his best poetry whenever he’s writing about her

that being said kitty isn’t a complete push over and will try to get thomas to understand when he’s made a mistake (gently, of course) by talking him through why shouting random sentences at alison (usually about kitty and always when she’s busy) or damning julian’s eyes might not have been the best of moves regardless of what his intention might have been

and he listens because it’s her telling him; she makes him a better man in death
