Does Simon have any relationship's with the neighbors of home or just Eddie?

Good question fellow neighbor!!!

So let’s see…

Eddie Dear

Simon is mostly tied to Eddie Dear the most, finding comfort in his personality as well as conversations and silly jokes. It’s unclear why he thought Eddie was his cousin but nonetheless it happened. Oh and mail delivers are always fun when Simon is around and Eddie can ride his back whenever he is tired.

Wally Darling

He is rather unnerved by Wally sometimes, especially when he talks to Home. But he loves watching him paint every so often! He just…stays away from Home.

Julie Joyful

Surprisingly he gets overwhelmed with Julie a lot. He does his best to participate in her games but with her upbeat personality he tends to overheat and become easily irritable by all the suggestions and games and even scenarios. Simon fears telling her to slow down will make her mad so each interaction they have is rather awkward. (He cries a bit)

Sally Starlet

Sally is actually scared of Simon.

Knowing Sally usually disregards Eddie most times and just calls him “mailman”

Simon literally becomes snappy and would shout “It’s Eddie!!!”. Of course Eddie tries to reassure him but Simon refuses to cool down whenever Sally makes a remark towards Eddie Dear. It’s best they stay separated for their own good…because Simon may be a bit of a baby but he will fight for his “cousin.”

Barnaby:

He loves Barnaby!!! So many jokes (well corny ones) and his tricks. Same as Sally however…Barnaby better not chase Eddie. Barnaby was met with a tail slap that day.

Frank Frankly

Simon brings bugs to Frank so he can explain what they are to him and also helps out with his research. With his big size, Frank uses him as a sort of ladder to reach high in the trees to see all types of hidden bugs.

And better yet? Simon can even dig deep enough to find the most hidden burrowers in the ground! He mostly sticks to Frank if Eddie is not there and Frank cools him down whenever Julie becomes a bit too much for him.

Poppy Partidge

Sadly Poppy is scared of Simon which broke his dear heart badly. Finding his big size rather dangerous she stays inside her home whenever Simon is near. Despite Eddie trying to tell him she doesn’t mean it in an ill way Simon cries whenever Poppy hides away.

One day Poppy saw those tears and she felt immense guilt. Realizing how much of a sweet gentle giant Simon is she finally warmed up to him! But just like Poppy she is still careful.

Howdy

Same for Sally, except Simon growls at him.

He rather gets upset whenever Howdy doesn’t give Eddie a proper greeting. He mainly takes over carrying packages and heavy loads for Eddie all the while keeping Howdy at bay.

Eddie has told Simon time from time it’s not that serious..but again Simon is stubborn once again.

And finally…HOME

Home is….its something. First it was fine as Simon kept her shingles clean and her roof up to par. But something bothered Simon about her. He distanced himself from that house…and after Homewarming and Eddie’s well breakdown? This ice-dweller is not okay with her

Oh yes! I did get some Asks about Them!

👑In Royal AU, they are Julie’s number 1 Support Group! Julie Supporters! Julie Fan Club members! (That includes her friends Barnaby, Sally and Howdy too!)

**But seriously though, they are also Thieves just like her! It’s not known where the Joyfuls came from, because their ‘mannerisms’ are not ‘normal’ compared to the other commoners. (“They must be Foreigners! maybe from another Kingdom? Or perhaps some sort of Cave?? Why do they have Horns? Why do all of them Eat SOOO much? And why is that Pink one SO LOUD?” People would wonder!)

But after living in the Kingdom of Home for a very long time, they Manage to Fit In!

💰In Gangster AU (100% joke au), JJ’s siblings are THOSE Bikers! You know, the ones that Drive super duper cool Motorcycles and Get into Fights with other group of Bikers! (One day she will be Good Enough to Join Them!)

And this is a Headcanon of mine, but I like to imagine Julie in every one of my AU would cut her brother Jonesy off accidentally while speaking! (Baha!) And all of them knows Sign Language!

You mentioned in another post that fionn would join the sleep pile at some point so my question is how would the puppets react to this?

And just fionn softening up in general lol.

It would definitely take them by surprise fgdbgfhbnfgh- A grouch like Fionn joining them out of the blue,, but the majority of them accept this change, Wally and Julie feeling more comfortable sleeping with him around

But in general, reactions to him softening up are as follows:

Wally: kinda surprised at first, but welcomes the change - he now has a drawing buddy!!

Barnaby: relieved to see him let go of his grouchiness a bit, but will tease him about it to no end!

Julie: same as Wally but a bit more cautious initially, afterwards she will jump on his back randomly for piggy back rides!

Frank: certainly surprised him a lot, but gave him a slight chance, he wasn't convinced at first. but after some time he felt a bit more comfortable to the point of Fionn listening to him info dumping about his research on human world butterflies!

Eddie: very protective of Frank so he wasn't convinced either, but eventually he softened up too, both sharing friendly banter.

Howdy: the same as Eddie, but Howdy isn't afraid to call Fionn out on bad habits still

Sally: she was not convinced at all, still isn't but not as much - she still sees him as a rival of sorts, she hates his guts lmao

Poppy: she's very welcoming of the change, happy to see Fionn bloom for the better! She even lets him hug her, that is if he wants to!
