Stardew Valley:

"Hey- Whoa!" Sam caught Farmer at the very last minute, their body was like a log, not standing still unless held down. The musician began to shower his friend with questions, and it was evident that the Farmers themself was in complete shock at what had happened to them. After a moment, however, they got their body back under control and were just like before. "Sheesh, don't scare me like that please." He made sure they're okay and would soon forget about the incident.

Harvey activated the doctor's emergency mode the moment Farmer's body lost control and touched the ground. He ran over to them, pulling out his small first aid kit and began to quickly search for the wounds. Such a hard bang of the head against the ground, definitely a concussion! Immediately to the clinic for a full checkup after he's done with the first aid! No excuses accepted, as head trauma is a very serious thing, and the sudden loss of body control is also very concerning. In general, Harvey will be like a protective mama hen for about a month.

It so happened that when Farmer was chatting with Shane and lost control of their body, they fell right on top of the chicken man. Shane gave his friend some rather colourful words for that, because it hurt, damn it! After he was able to get up and Farmer was still lying on the ground, but not on top of him anymore, Shane became worried. No sooner had he bent down to pick them up than Farmer stood up as if nothing had happened. Shane asks if everything's okay and, and... What was that all about anyway?

Alex had no trouble catching Farmer, who, as he thought, had decided to play a trust fall. "Careful, not everyone will catch you like I did." Farmer answered nothing to their friend, clearly confused. Alex, on the other hand, gently placed them on the ground, realising that Farmer wasn't going to return to a standing position just yet. "Hey, are you done?" Immediately after those words, Farmer were able to stand up. Alex noticed their slightly frightened face and decided that they were the ones who were so scared that Alex wouldn't be able to catch them.

Farmer gave Sebastian another frozen tear as a gift, but no sooner had he gratefully accepted the gem than Farmer just... fell down. Sebby was startled by this, and immediately rushed to help them, trying to see if they were hurt (even the tall grass didn't cushion the fall) and help them up. Farmer was ahead of him, getting to their feet as if nothing had happened. "Did your body hit reset button or something?" Though he guffaws at the end, Sebastian was more than a little scared for Farmer.

"Farmer!" Poor Elliott was so freaked out when he couldn't catch Farmer in time, who had just fallen on the rather hard sand out of nowhere, that he already wanted to shout at the top of his voice for help from the people nearby. Yes, it's not a rocky surface, but what if there was a small sharp stone hidden under the sand?! The writer is not the most athletic man, but he spared neither his arms nor his back in order to lift Farmer and slowly but surely carry them to the clinic. "Hey, I'm fine, I can walk again." Oh great, that means it will be easier for him to take them to the local doctor. No, no refusals accepted, his dear friend needs to get their health checked urgently!

Ridgeside Village:

Philip was not talking to Farmer at this point, and was just about to approach them. But as soon as he saw Farmer straighten up in the distance and fall down as a log on the ground, he ran up to his friend in a panic with lightning speed, examining him. Like a storm siren, Philip raised a shout and several people ran to his call. At the Farmer's attempts (Farmer could already move and stand again as before) the physical therapist only emphatically ordered them not to move while he looked to see what was wrong with them and wait for Paula together.

Ian had no trouble keeping Farmer from falling hard to the ground, for which Farmer, a little frightened by the loss of control of their body, was grateful to their friend. But Ian was a little confused about what to do next. Call for help? Try to help himself? "I can't feel my body anymore." Yoba, now he's in full panic mode. Ian would very gently take Farmer in his arms, asking several times if they were in pain, and quickly take them to Paula's clinic for an emergency check-up and help. He will check back with Farmer for a few weeks to make sure they feeling fine.

As a bodyguard, Bryle's reaction was immediate: he picked up the falling Farmer and hid behind the nearest wall with his friend. Immediately, as if in a fever, he began to look for a fresh bullet wound on their body. But nothing. Bryle hadn't even heard a gunshot. Then why- "I don't know... But it sure wasn't a gunshot." Okay, now Bryle breathed a sigh of relief, and the Farmer stood up as before. Well, he'd advise them to pop down to the clinic, then. It's not a bullet wound, but it's worth consulting a doctor about loss of body control.

June didn't even have time to blink before his friend, with whom he had been chatting about the latest town gossips a moment ago, was now lying motionless with him on the cool ground. The pianist had bumped his head a little, so it took him a while to come round too. It was Farmer who had fallen on top of him and immediately felt their body obeying again, panicking over June, forgetting that they had just a couple of minutes ago been paralysed out of the blue. Both are fine, and both are slowly and carefully walking over to Paula to medical check, just in case.

"Ian, come here, quick! Farmer's not well!" Sean was thrashing back and forth checking on Farmer lying on the oak floor in Odd Jobs building, looking for the first aid kit and checking to see when Ian would finally get in here and help him get Farmer up! Sean feels bad as he didn't have time to catch his falling friend and they sure hit the floor hard. Help arrived and Sean and his friend put Farmer on the nearest bed, after which Sean quickly dialled the clinic. Farmer wanted to get up already, as they seemed to be alright by now, but Sean prevented them from doing so, begging them not to move and trying to call Paula.

Shiro had great reactions, so noticing Farmer starting to fall, he immediately grabbed their hand. His body, however, was no longer as strong, so unable to support his friend's weight, Shiro collapsed with Farmer right onto the ground. The veteran immediately panicked; not only had they both landed on a hard surface, but Shiro had also crushed them with his weight. So without listening to any excuses, Shiro would take Farmer to the clinic to make sure they're ok.

Anton didn't realise what had happened at all. Just a minute ago he was talking to Farmer as usual, and a moment later they were lying on the ground. It took the architect a couple more moments for the logical chain in his head to close and he, in a panic, ran up to Farmer and began to examine if there were any serious wounds. He'd never dialled Paula's number so quickly before. For the next couple of days, when he talked to Farmer, he would stand closer to them, to catch them if if they lose their balance again.

Zayne was able to catch Farmer in time, but had great difficulty holding them up, feeling his strength definitely not enough to support his friend's body. The head of the Amethyne family would be scared for sure, and frightened Farmer, clearly not realising what was wrong with them, would add oil to the fire. Good thing they were both not far from his mansion, and Zayne was able to shout for Sonny to call for a local doctor immediately. And yes, of course Zayne will stay with them, trying to support and comfort them until help arrived.

A similar situation with the Governor's bodyguard, Jio instantly grabbed the falling Farmer and together they hid behind the nearest oak tree, away from the kill zone. "Tell me where you were hit!" But no wound or even a scratch was found. Farmer who had slightly recovered from the shock explained that they had just... fallen. Jio wanted to curse at the false alarm, but realised that Farmer wasn't messing with him and were themself in shock that their body had stopped obeying them. "Can you get up?" After a few minutes of lying on the grass, Farmer did get up. "Check with the local healer to see what's wrong with you." And after those words, Jio vanished.

"And he told me that I- hey hey what the- Farmer!!" Literally at the last moment a frightened Jeric caught Farmer by the arm, trying to keep them from falling, but their legs also gave a lift, and despite the young man's efforts, Farmer lies on the dusty ground. "Please stop, this isn't funny at all!" Jeric wished it was just a bad joke from his friend, but seeing how scared they were, they really were no longer in control of their body. Ok, don't panic, he has Paula's phone number, he will call her now, and in the meantime he will be with Farmer trying to calm them down...

Farmer felt a sudden weakness in their body, and not keeping their balance, fell right on top of Kenneth. The electrician didn't lose his balance and was able to hold onto Farmer, preventing them from falling and hitting the ground. A little frightened, but not losing his composure, Kenneth put them down and began to call out to Paula, who, as luck would have it, was standing not far from him and Farmer. The military doctor found nothing wrong with Farmer, and they stood again as if nothing had happened, but still advised them to drop in for an appointment with her. Kenneth wants to keep his friend company and support them, and also doesn't want to pry into their personal business. At least he'd want to know the next day without the details that they were okay.

This is a busy week, with extra one-shots going up in addition to my usual two chapters in Choices. Hopefully, y'all will enjoy them. ^_^

Today, however, we get Chapter 18 of Choices: Winter, "The Valley's Good Fortune." This time around, Sterling takes Callie up on a playful challenge for his day off; that evening, he takes her to the saloon to play pool with Henry and Mia. Upon their arrival, however, they discover that word of the bus's repair has spread, and not everyone's enthused about it. Callie continues trying to navigate her relationships with both Sterling and June, and Sterling wrestles with his insecurities. Lastly, Callie takes advantage of the bus to take a trip out to Calico Desert.

The entire saloon hummed with excitement, distracting Sterling from his thoughts. "Mind ordering for me while I mingle?" asked Callie. Glancing at the corner table where Leah, Haley, Elliott, and June sat together, Sterling clamped down on the jealousy unease that spawned. Callie had thoroughly demonstrated her affections to him all day, after all. "Not at all, darlin'." She slid her arms around him in a quick hug. "Thanks, sunshine. I—" "Ms. Solanen!" Both paused, looking around. Sterling spotted Lewis waving for her attention. “Wonder what the old fart wants?” he muttered to her. “Behave,” she scolded him. “I'll see what he wants, then check on the others.”
