New Foundations by Sara (ctrsara) On their way to a conference in LA, Peter accidentally triggers Tony, and the resulting panic attack leads to a serious conversation. Happy Hogan's POV of the whole thing. The perspective in this story would have been easier to write from Tony’s view (I really am most comfortable with that) but @kingdomfaraway asked to see something from Happy’s perspective, (who I’m less comfortable writing, but I’ve done one short in (insert Happy Accident) so I tried it! As usual, thanks to @junker5 for bouncing ideas and doing a read-through for me! Part of the post-Homecoming series "Strands in the Rope," which attempts to show how Tony and Peter's relationship might have developed between Homecoming and Infinity War, but can stand alone, also. Mostly. These stories are starting to build on each other a little more as we start counting down time to Infinity War. Words: 4103, Chapters: 1/1, Language: English Series: Part 42 of Strands in the Rope Fandoms: The Avengers (Marvel Movies), Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man (Tom Holland Movies) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Categories: Gen Characters: Happy Hogan, Tony Stark, Peter Parker Relationships: Peter Parker & Tony Stark, Happy Hogan & Tony Stark Additional Tags: Post-Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony Stark is a Good Mentor, Tony Stark Acting as Peter Parker's Parental Figure, Panic Attacks, Rebuilding, Happy Hogan is good at his job, Too good is an opinion, civil war aftermath, Captain America (mentioned) - Freeform, Bucky Barnes (mentioned) - Freeform

Another much-belated (my fault, not theirs) Christmas package from @junker5 -- so glad I was able to make last year a little brighter! Thank you for the card and giftcard, the disinfectant caddy (I have already put one of my millions of tiny bottles into it) and of course the toys for kitties! Dearborn played with that specific toy all afternoon and then passed out on it.

Just checking in on yall. Wanting to see how yall are coping after the storm. Hope all is well with you and the kids, and with tisfan and her family, too.
Aw, thanks for looking in on us!
@tisfan and I were ready to evacuate -- heading west and up into the mountains to stay with friends there -- but Florence veered south to come ashore in the Carolinas (instead of southeast Virginia, where we live), and we both opted to remain home instead.
If you look at satellite maps, the top edges of the hurricane are right on top of us, but it hasn’t done more here than drop some occasional rain, to be honest. Not even all that much rain, just occasional sprinkles that last for about ten minutes and then go away again.
Tisfan is a little further south (about 50 miles) and also closer to the coast and sea level, so a lot of businesses and stuff near her are closed due to evacuations, and she’s had a couple of power flickers, but we’re in more or less constant contact, and we’re all doing just fine.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with everyone in the Carolinas who are riding out the brunt of the storm -- I saw a video just this morning from my mom’s hometown in North Carolina, with houses with rooms holding two or three feet of water in them, and cars in the street in water up to their windows. Here’s hoping all our readers in those areas were able to find somewhere safe to go and that they aren’t too badly impacted.

An alternate Sandbridge ? That'll be angsty as all get out. Thanks for entertaining us!!!
Yeah, the premise is a little angstier. It started with someone asking us for headcanon on what the crew would do if there was no Dockside... and we ended up writing it... it’s different. Bucky is a little more bitter, Tony is a lot more fatalistic.
It ends up focusing on different people; Wanda and Peter become Tony’s best friends... Pierce is a major player. We still get to see the Commandos... and Becca and Billie show up a LOT earlier.

rules: tag 10 people you want to get to know better!
Thanks @monaisme for the tag.
relationship status: I've known my husband for 22 years now, and we've been married for 18 next month! Man, I'm old...
favorite colors: Teal and silver
song stuck in my head: Well, due to a long very-ADHD head journey, now it's the "Dumbo's Circus" theme song from a weird Disney Channel cartoon from when I was a kid. Look it up. You won't be sorry.
last song i listened to: Righthand Man (Hamilton soundtrack)
3 favorite foods:
1. Really good chicken alfredo
2. Tacos. All the tacos, minus seafood ones.
3. Cheetos
last thing i googled: Well, now it's "google search history" but I guess it's "fever with elevated breathing." Unfortunately not for a story this time. :-p
dream trip: Probably Europe. I'd love to see some of the places my ancestors came from (Switzerland, England, Sweden, etc.) Disneyland Paris, and some of the amazing sights there. Either that, or somewhere like New Zealand with lots of cool excursions.
anything i want right now: For everyone to stop getting sick. For stuff that tastes super delicious to actually be healthy, haha. I'd settle for a week in a hotel room by myself to just veg, and read, and write. (Okay, put the hotel by Disneyland, so I could do some of that, too.)
I’m tagging (but feel free to ignore this, or make up your own questions!): @asyouleft, @yes-i-am-happyaspie, @spagbol99, @tonystarchive, @junker5, @furiousgardenhologram, @mori-tashie, @lexilooper, @cajun-fangirl and @abbendipity, as well as anyone else who wants to do it!

I know Chicago is huge....but I can’t help but worry about one of my favorites when I see ugly Chicago news on my news feed.
Hope you and your girls are safe & well!
It probably says something about Chicago that I went to the Trib and couldn’t tell which news story might have worried you...
But yes I am fine! The weather is ugly but the Cryptids and I are inside and warm. Currently Polk is napping on top of a couch cushion, and Dearborn is in my lap washing her paws and giving her claws a nibbling.

SO ANGSTY. OMG. SO. SO. SO ANGSTY.
Still has a happy ending, because it’s us. But getting there? SO MUCH ANGST. And Nat is not around to fix things with ice cream.

junker5 replied to your post “Medical Stuff (and how it might affect the fics you love)”
Yikes! I had no idea...last I knew Tylenol gave you hives. You were your own hurt/medical whumpfic. I'm so sorry. Sending hugs. And sympathetic back pats. I'm so glad you are ok!
One time someone said “You write a lot of medical stuff” (which I do for a lot of my original fiction) and I’m like “write what you know”

Since I adore Sprout anything you want to tell, comment, reveal, let us know about Sprout would be awesome. I was thrilled when you had a Sprout prompt weekend. Such a great story! :D
Oh goodness, something about Sprout…
Well, I started working on Sprout while I was still working on Multicolored, another Bruce Banner-centric Avengers fic that involves Bruce having Dissociative Identity Disorder. Some of the personalities I wrote were kids, and I realized I really like writing children, especially Bruce as a child.
I think I had started reading a few kid!fics around that time and fell in love, so when I started wrapping up Multicolored, I decided I wanted to try my hand at a Bruce kid!fic. Bruce is such a complex character with a history filled with tragedy and abuse, so to write a child character coming from that kind of background really intrigued me (and broke my heart). It was really a chance to dive more into Bruce’s history, and for him to get some much needed love. I couldn’t resist.
Sprout was NOT supposed to be as long as it was. I think I only had up until the first Hulk transformation planned when I first started writing it (the Hulk transformation being the first think I actually wrote for it). As I kept writing it, I kept diving deeper and deeper into Bruce’s past and wanting to write more and more. It was tough to end. I won’t spoil anything, just in case there are followers who haven’t read it yet, but the ending was the hardest thing to write.
It was actually really entertaining. I posted one of those final chapters where things happen and then went to my mom’s house for the day. I kept getting emails with comments on the chapter, and when my mom asked what was going on, I told her that I made lots of people cry. She was proud.
I seriously love Sprout. I had no idea going into it that it would turn into what it has become, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride, and I am thrilled that so many other people seem to enjoy it too. It was an absolute pleasure to write, and I would love to return to it sometime for more prompt fills.

Just a Really Very Important Memory
Peter asks FRIDAY to show him some videos of previous testing on the Iron Man suits, and notices Tony's interactions with his previous AI, JARVIS. He starts wondering about Tony's relationship with him, and notices how it differs from the one he has with FRIDAY.
Part of the post-Homecoming series "Strands in the Rope," which attempts to show how Tony and Peter's relationship might have developed between Homecoming and Infinity War, but can stand alone, also.
This is the first story in this series that's actually from Peter’s point of view. I have wanted to write something like this for a while, but the specific idea was from @junker5. Thanks for making it so fun to write pretty much anything, and for always finding good things to say about it! 🤍

Have you had your second shot yet, Sam? I never felt “bad” after my second shot, other than a sore arm. I did however break out in a rash all around the injection site…but I’ve been known to do that with a tetanus shot. I’m so happy you are almost able to see your folks again. My mom has not seen my brother in over a year. It’s so hard. Take care!
No, I’m not quite at 28 days yet -- I’m hoping to get the second shot this week or early next. It seems like everyone has different levels of reaction to the Moderna -- my stepdad was fine, my mother basically had a terrible flu for two days. I did pretty well with the first one so I think I’ll be okay, but I’m planning to take a day or two just in case.
froofie on this post:
Could you make one for your Animal Crossing farm (no idea if that’s possible. I don’t play it)?
No, you can’t quite do that level of customization, which is a shame -- but in theory I could build a very large version in Minecraft, which I’ve been getting back into lately. I’ve found it oddly soothing in a way I never did before to just spend all my time and resources building a large mansion for myself with ranchland out back. (I just finished the sauna.)
