Au where the ASL brothers somehow get stranded on an abandoned forest island and it’s a lord of the flies situation but not really where they just become half feral and rely on each others. Horrifying bonus points if it’s somehow the island Luffy trained on for two years. And they are just impossibly strong before either, a. Getting found by someone or b. Setting sail themselves and they bite every marine they meet.

Sabo still struggles with memory loss. He had his childhood back, of course, he remembers Ace and Luffy and everything they did together. But he doesn't remember some stuff. Some anecdotes Luffy tells oh so excitedly? He can't recall that those happened. And if he does, it's all blurry and never at all like Luffy says. But he never says anything because that would break his brother's heart, to know his older brother isn't fully back with him, so he nods and smiles and pretends he knows what Luffy is talking about every time.
His room is filled with Post-it notes. Stupid, really. Dumb stuff. But he has all the meetings he needs to remember and the missions he has to do, along with everything he wants to write down at some point properly. The walls are covered in pictures of the people he loves (Luffy, Ace, Koala, Robin... All the others that have ever meant something to him because he refuses to forget somebody again).
He keeps writing dumb stuff down. Anything. He refuses to forget. He denies the possibility of doing it again.
But he forgets. Sabo keeps forgetting important dates. Important parts of his life, like his past with his brothers (he forgets a random adventure they had that he swore he had talked about the day prior) and crucial things he has to do. He has a hard time picturing his memories. Putting them in his brain. Turning them into images. Saying it's frustrating is a huge understatement.
Koala helps him out, of course. She's hard on him so he finishes his paperwork, but she knows it's difficult sometimes. She's his personal calendar and diary. She informs him of what he has to do during the week and always tries to talk and talk about anecdotes that she knows he still remembers but knows he loves to hear again.
His mental health isn't the best either, but he refuses to acknowledge it. There's a revolution at hand, he can't stop working. And fighting. And doing more and more and more. But sometimes it's just too much. Sometimes he goes into depressive episodes he can't control, and the medication is either addicting or the worst thing that has ever happened to him. Sometimes he's a bit too intense. Koala says he needs to calm down, that he has a problem with his fixation on the revolution and his past. Sabo keeps saying that it's fine. But he sometimes forgets or has blurry images of the fights and the people he has killed, filled with energy and excitement and like he has the power of a God. He doesn't like those. Enjoys the moment. Hates to forget it. Hates to know what he did during it too, even if it was for a good cause. Despises the look Koala gives him, also. Makes her promise not to tell Luffy about all of this.
But it's fine, he keeps saying. Sabo will keep trying to never forget anything ever again.

The Portuguese speaking and Spanish speaking communities in BBH's chat asking who Skeppy is really made me realize just how separate all the QSMP viewers started out and how far we've all come in terms of integrating our communities and cultures. It's only been like a month but there's WAY more overlap / interaction between the fan bases than I was expecting there to be at this point.

None of you understand Sabo like I do I can picture him perfectly in my minds eye. He's an organizer for the International Workers of the World. He says you have nothing to lose but your chains entirely seriously. He's a transgender anarchist and all his friends are gay furries. Ace drives him to work because he refuses to get a driver's license and give the government more information on him. He is on multiple watch lists. His phone has been tapped. He hands the barista his card and says "call me" not to flirt but to try and convince them to unionize. He speaks six languages and has a double degree in business and political science he got using his parents money and then changed his name and disappeared and lives in a shitty apartment with Ace. He's insane in ways none of you seem to know about and I am BURDENED WITH BEING THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THE TRUTH!!!!

Gotta give it to Sabo.
His commitment to that outfit is unmatched.
I imagine every once in a while, he goes to the revolutionary tailor, and he is like
"Now, I want this exact same design, jut a little bigger please"
My fancy boy

I realized my disconnect when it comes to talking about one piece, and why I always say I like talking to dudebros more even if they're the worst... Is, I like to analyze literature. I like to analyze the source material and the canonic information. Shipping and stuff is for fun but I see it separately. The intersect bc canon inspires fanon but fanon CANNOT change canon.. I don't mix the two things especially not when I'm doing analysis... So I'll say things that are factual and ppl who are stuck in their headcanons or personal biases will think I'm saying something bad. What I'm saying isn't good or bad. It's not judgmental of the character I'm talking about. Nor is it a bias bc I like them/dislike them. I'm analyzing odas writing and his intentions as an author and what he's trying to say and portray. Most ppl online are too caught up in headcanons and personal bias while having no media comprehension and they think that I'm attacking their made up fanon stuff..... Noooo..... You're over there playing pretend and I'm over here doing analysis. We are not doing remotely near the same activity. They don't always need to intersect. Anyways it's hard to have genuine analytical conversations with ppl fully indulged in fandom and fanon. The only group of ppl who doesn't do that are dudebros but also... They get hung up on other stuff that doesn't matter too. Idkkkkkkkkk.

Had this thought earlier that I had to share. Ace is still in his assassination days, trying to kill Whitebeard when the WB Pirates pull something up. Someone?
Suddenly he gets a hug with the full force of a rubbery little brother that SHOULD BE ON DAWN ISLAND WHAT THE FUCK LUFFY!!!!
“Shishishishi I got kidnapped! Sorry!” Luffy of course replied with a grin. After hitting his brother on the head and dragging the rubber brain to a secluded area Ace got the story out of Luffy. He did get kidnapped, and through a series of escaping, getting lost, getting kidnapped and repeat, Luffy found himself on the Moby Dick. Luffy, understandably, is surprised to find out he is not in East Blue.
Ace, being the responsible older brother that he is, puts a hold on his attempt on getting Whitebeard’s head, gets his crew together with Luffy and gets out of dodge. He needed to get Luffy back home after all. Especially after coming to the realization that he’s on a time limit if Garp realizes that Luffy’s gone missing and finds Luffy with Ace.
That would be a mess that Ace and Luffy both don’t want, causing Luffy wanting to get home as soon as possible. But it would be nice to adventure with his brother all the while!

One piece fic idea
Marco and Ace have a conversation about how observant people are and Marco ends up challenging Ace or saying that he’s super observant or something.
A week later ‘Ace’ is sitting at the commanders table in the dining hall and brings up the conversation
“Do you remember that conversation we had last week?” ‘Ace’ asked, taking another bite of his food afterwards. “Which one?” Marco replied, a bit confused. “The one about how observant people are? The one where you said that you were one of the more observant people on the ship?” “I do, I have to be observant as the first mate and as someone in charge of something so important,” Marco said. ‘Ace’ smiled, and then said, “Y’know, that’s funny, because we’ve never once met before today.” “What?” Marco asked, very confused by this point. “ACE!” ‘Ace’ yelled, looking upwards. Ace hopped down from the rafters and ‘Ace’ took off his hat and handed it to Ace. “What the hell?” Someone asked, “how is there two of them?” Someone else replied. “Thanks for taking care of my hat twin of mine!” Ace (from the rafters) said. ‘Ace’ (still sitting at the table) laughed and said “not an issue Ace, you know I’m always up for a good prank”
