"Hey, Paz, wait up!” Simba chirped as all the board members filed out of the board room. He took a little longer than normal trying to maneuver around the large table in his stupid crutches. He hated them, because they felt like a beacon--a big neon sign pointing to him and his uselessness and stupidity--

But it was fine! He wasn’t thinking about that.

Okay, well he was thinking about it a little as he knocked a crutch into the bloody trashcan they kept by the door, knocking it down. “Shit,” he cursed. At least it didn’t have anything in it. Sticking his injured leg out behind him, he managed to carefully lean down to right the bin.

“Sorry, uh--I just wanted a quick chat,” Simba said when he finally pulled up next to Pacifica. Everyone else had already drifted down the hall. Probably for the best. “I, uh, noticed you didn’t cast a vote? You--kinda got to do that...” he told her, not unkindly.

2/10/23 I had the most amazing day today on Dive-o-rama and Breakers 4th window! My first day with my new camera, and I couldn’t have asked for better models. Plus, we did an extra one tank crew hunting trip for my birthday!

One of the earliest insightes into Mulder’s character to me was his offering of his motel room to a homeless man. Yes, it was helpful to his investigation as a law enforcement agent but he could have just as easily given him $50 and told him to scram. Instead, he chose to take his place on the street, and have the man take his. He quite literally places himself in another’s shoes.

Mulder’s high degree of exquisite empathy, a trait he displays often and sometimes to his detriment, will always be one of my favorite things about him.
