Bruhhh I witnessed an s-tier anime moment today irl

So I was in kickboxing class and we were practicing clinching (basically a violent hug) and our coach (who is the same age as me and the girl I usually train with) was demonstrating how easy it is to push a lighter person around in the clinch position - my training partner is very petite so he used her for the demonstration: he pushed her backwards until her back almost hit the wall, at which point he stopped and caught himself on the wall with his hand

going through the hades 2 stuff and im sorry but i just have to ramble a second because look at Hephaestus

he's not just a wheelchair user but also an amputee. an above knee amputee. wheelchair users are already next to nonexistant in video games but amputees exist in this really...disheartening? spot where they're pretty much just reduced to "person with a cybernetic limb" - it's always just somewhere from "just a cool visual design" to flat out "superpower". I can't think of a video game amputee that is actually disabled by their limb differences - I'm all for futuristic worlds where prosthetics and other disability aids are far advanced from what they are now, but that's not really what's implied by these designs. They're just... Cool designs that in no way reflect on the real-world experience of being an amputee.

Look at Hephaestus, though. Look at that prosthetic. Whilst stylised it very much looks like it functions like common mechanical knees - knee bends when thigh is lifted, knee straightens when thigh is lowered. He's a wheelchair user as well as a prosthetic user - every prosthetic user I know is also a wheelchair user as a prosthetic is not usable in every occasion and also cause exhaustion and pain if used constantly.

Whilst we can't see much of his wheelchair the position he's sat in and the wheels very much evoke active wheelchair to me - this carries on to very specifically the thickness of his arms. Whilst a lot of Hades designs are muscular Hephaestus has very noticeably thick arms - which makes sense, as active wheelchairs require a lot of arm strength.

Just overall this design is making me want to cry - he's not just an actual wheelchair user in a video game, he's a realistic depiction of an amputee, a disability usually brushed over in order to give a character a fun design quirk and nothing else. He's fat and he's hot and he's a realistic depiction of an above knee amputee. Oh my god. Oh my god?

So, Not to be that guy and still go on about this but like not only did people and people I thought I was close with forget me/my birthday , I now see them remembering/ actively doing something for other people’s birthday literally like the next day and the days after, which actually kind of hurts more like being forgotten is one thing and kinda used to it (shout to my family and family trauma), but that second part really fucking stings

Me on most things (also Shout out to Instagram for being like hheeeyyy so this happened, please don’t ever stop being a messy bitch)… which honestly I laughed when I saw, cause like I thought to myself ‘I wonder how long after she leaves does she start blocking/deleting’ turns out not long 🤷🏻‍♀️😂. The fact she’s gone to this effort while also owning me money just makes this 🤌🏻 even better

The opposite of a shoutout to dominos pizza for their stupid ass system; not only did the complexity of it mean it failed a shit ton, it also was inherrently awful even when it worked flawlessly; if you don't know basically their system allows the end user to track their order from being prepared to in the oven to on the road(and where exactly it is on the road); but in reality that meant all the delivery drivers had to install what was basically spyware on their phones that would track them everywhere they go, and you have to enable it or you're not able to take any deliveries. Also, this system tells the user the name of who put it in the oven and the name of the delivery driver, which for the most part other than the fact that personal info shouldn't be provided to every asshole who orders a pizza, meant that sometimes, when I went out to deliver a pizza, someone would slap me in the face with my deadname and then expect some kind of positive response from me. No, a stranger referring to me by name(deadname) isn't cute or fun, it's weird and creepy and stalkerish. Also, if your company pays your employees less than minimum wage with the expectation that they're getting tips, you can fuck off all the way to hell. Especially companies that require employees to drive their own cars. Stop investing money into spyware for your employees and pay them, you piece of shit company.
