Yesterday’s adventure led us on an amazing drive on the coast of South Africa. Ended with a trip to a beach on the Indian Ocean where African penguins (one of my top three favorite animals) were mating, waddling, and living life. The coolest part about getting awarded by the Philadelphia Bar Association for my pro bono and public interest accomplishments is having people that I look up to (including those who work for the ACLU) tell me I’m doing a good job and to keep going forward. Reading my bio made me happy and proud to continue standing with others and to help others with the law. Whether it’s LGBTQ issues, Women’s issues, People of Color issues, Immigrant issues, helping those on DACA, wooing our Undocumented populations, helping the Camden community, empowering our young youth (especially our young girls), traveling to another country and learning and educating myself and others of LGBTQ issues, or holding safe space events where we can all come as one and talk about our opposing views about the election...I continuously will work hard to make this country and this world a more inclusive and accepting place. The law and the legal field is a powerful weapon. You can use it for so much evil, but you can use it for so much good. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’m also happy to say that as my last semester and year comes to an end in May, I’ll be doing one last internship at the Attorney Generals Office in the Department of Children and Families. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you all who have supported me, pushed me, guided me, shared your story with me, has been a friend to me, and to my family.
