Zutara Week Day 5: Respite

These were actually meant to be part of a larger piece for the day 1 theme "Home", but... art was refusing to art (I have so many sketches and half finished pieces I started for ZK Week, but things were just not working). So instead, we'll use there peaceful family moments in the South Pole for "respite"!

Avatar!Pakku AUs

So I read some more so joke posts about an Avatar!Pakku au and I’m considering actually developing one of my own:

Now I made two separate sub-AUs on the major one since I thought it may go into two directions.

Continuing on from the previous post, now we’re going to talk about: Free Will.

In the FreeWill…

After learning the truth of her baby brother’s destiny from the shamans, Kallik fears that her brother may succumb to a tragic fate, especially knowing that Pakku may be the one to carry on Avatar Aang’s goal in ending the war. So, at the age of 16, Kallik took it upon herself to take whatever she can, as well as her brother, and run away. By the time morning comes, a boat was missing and the tribe mourns. Neither sibling was ever seen again.

At least decade goes by, and somewhere within the wooded area of the Northwest part of the Earth Kingdom—two siblings hid away and reside. Both quiet, yet peaceful lives. The eldest sister weaves, while the youngest brother remained ambitious and bored. With abilities that no one has ever seen. Nor ever known. The sister simply waves it off, saying that it was best to keep it on the down low. The brother was exasperated, but listens nonetheless. All was normal and all was fine.

That was until one day, the youngest of the two had a dream. A vision of some sort.

Of a man sitting upon a throne of towering flames. Of miles upon miles of faceless silhouettes ready for battle. Of a building consumed by hellish blazes and screaming winds. Of a blue-arrowed monk in orange standing before him, of several hundreds more standing behind him.

Thousands of eyes within the endless mist, lit up and shined like stars among the night sky.

“Pakku of the North,” says the Monk, an echo reverberated far out, as though there was a synchronized melody. A little smile can be seen placed on his lips, seemingly glad to see the teen boy in front of him. “It is time you finally come to learn your destiny.”

Short piece for @muffinlance featuring my characters Kallik of the SWT and his youngest two children. Set in Salvage universe. Not everyone has been enlightened by Zuko about women's work and the big strong water tribe men from the ship Kallik was assigned to decided to tell his daughter to cook dinner Not realizing the hell they were about to enter.

Kallik took one look at who was cooking and promptly decided to eat with Hakoda’s crew.

Zuko at least knew how to tone down the level of spice while cooking Anjij did not. And no he was not going to warn anyone from the ship he had been assigned to as to the mouth on fire/burn a hole through your stomach level of spice that was to come from letting, or what probably happened in this case, making Anja cook.

His daughter did not understand the concept of toning down the level of spice. As a fire bender she had a strong tolerance for heat both temperature and spice wise. It didn't help that her twin, his youngest son, Koji had nearly as strong of a tolerance as she did.

Anja is a menace. There is a reason he does the cooking at home the majority of the time and a reason why everyone seasons their own bowl/plate of food because otherwise with the majority of his family being fire benders him and Siqiniq his eldest would never be able to eat.

If his crewmates wanted to make his daughter cook because it's women's work or even if they just let her cook they would soon learn how much of a mistake it would be.

Hopefully some of them would be smart and take head of the fire red/orange color of the food and proceed with caution.

Kallik is originally from the SWT but left years ago and married a woman from the Fire Nation and had 6 kids with her. Their youngest two Anjij or Anja and Koji are both benders of opposite elements with Anja looking water tribe but being a fire bender while Koji looks fire nation and is a Water bender. After the youngest two met Zuko and port and kidnapped him for the day Kallik joined up with the fleet after saying good bye to his family only for his kids to leave home and run into Hakoda’s ship and crew again later. Hakoda gained temporary custody of the two teens to keep them out of trouble.
