Uninhabited Island - Cottage
Lilia: “Jack, bring me that long piece of wood at your feet.”
Jack: “Got it!”
Lilia: “Riddle, will you help support the wood in my hands with your magic?”
Riddle: “Leave it to me.”
Lilia: “Mm, I’m lucky to have good assistants. After this, it’s a little bit of my magic.”
Lilia: “Alright, we’re finished!”
Jack/Riddle: “YEAH!!”
Tumblr media
Jack: “Awesome, the cottage was repaired in no time. It’s not even an hour since we started.”
Riddle: “Yeah. I didn’t think it would go so smoothly. As expected of Lilia-senpai.”
Riddle: “Hey, Jack. Look at this. The structure of the back door is more solid than yesterday.”
Jack: “It’s true… Oh, there are some parts inside.”
Tumblr media
Lilia: “It’s called a ‘kannuki’. It’s like a bolt.”
Lilia: “It’s an installation seen on the gates of old castles. Place the wood across the door and frame to keep the doors locked…”
Jack: “Do you really need a latch on a uninhabited island? I can’t imagine robots coming in through the door.”
Lilia: “I don’t care. It’s natural to want to protect yourself.”
Riddle: “Natural? Is that what it is…?”
*Clack, clack*
Jack: !!
Jack: “This sound…the robots are here!?”
Lilia: “Now is the time to defend our castle!”
Tumblr media
Lilia: “I can't stand having my cottage that I've worked so hard to repair destroyed. Riddle, Jack, let's smash them!”
Riddle/Jack: “YES!”
To be continued…

A number name today! In this case, 一関 is read Ichinoseki, but it can also be Ichiseki, Issemi, Ichizeki, or Iseki.
一, which means one, has gotta be the easiest kanji there is. It’s read hito, hito.tsu, ichi, or ittsu.
関 has two meanings, broadly speaking. One is gateway, connection, or barrier—think a checkpoint as you enter a new territory. The other means to involve or concerning, e.g. ●●に関する (__ ni kan suru) “relating to __.” It can be read seki, zeki, kaka.waru, karakuri, kannuki, or kan.
Also my husband joked that this family should live in Nichome because then they’d be 一石二鳥 isseki nicho, which means “two birds with one stone.” Love proverbs that translate literally! I laughed, a lot, and he just looked at me blankly and said that he'd lost respect for me for enjoying such a bad joke. His joke. Whatcha gonna do, I guess.

Any names and details on the aunts and uncles? You're usually really good about coming up with fun lore for your characters.
Yes, yes, of course! They’re still in development, so a lot of these details could change (including names). I’ll start from the left (as pictured in the first image of the previous post) and work my way to the right.
Hanshiro Otsuka A senior associate. He was a part of the Kuzuryuu Clan during Fuyuhiko’s father’s reign, at the time a lower-ranked associate, and he was around when strain, power struggles, and infighting caused the clan to splinter into many smaller groups after The Tragedy. He chose to remain loyal to the clan’s roots in Kobe, and was quick to catch word when Peko and Fuyuhiko finally returned to the mainland after their sentencing on Jabberwock Island. He’s in his late 40s, married, and has a daughter.
Jirokichi Kannuki Another senior associate who briefly retired from yakuza business while trying to raise a family, but has now returned. He’s divorced, and currently paying child support for his kid, who now lives in South Korea with his mother. He has deep burn scars on the side of his face from a botched job years ago at port that resulted in arson.
Anna Hebihara Originally hailing from Tokyo, she’s the last surviving member of a girl biker gang. She has since made her way down to Kobe and has joined the clan in recent years. A bit of a loose cannon, she usually serves as the muscle, and her weapon of choice is a long length of chain. She butts heads with Fuyuhiko often, mainly because she’s a HUGE fan of the Tokyo Giants (the rival team to Kobe’s Hanshin Tigers). Peko thinks the reason why they don’t get along is because they’re so much alike. She’s in her 30s and lives with her longtime girlfriend.
Ieyoshi Isobe A lower-ranked associate. A fashionista at heart, he dresses in EXTREMELY garish clothes, much to his bosses’ chagrin. It started with men’s clothes, but after some initial hesitation, he’s branched into wearing some more feminine clothing as well. He’s studied Capoeira, and he’s very proud of it. (Truthfully, it’s yet to be useful for business.)
Of course, there are more clan characters than the ones I drew in the last post, but that’s for another time!

G1 Climax 30 Night 15 - 10/13/2020
Tumblr media
Yes, I did rather say this one would be late. Earlier today, the penultimate matches for A Block took place, and you can see it now on NJPWWorld. First the show results, then the standings, then the scenarios for who advances to Sunday’s Final.
- 10/13/2020, Shizuoka Hamamatsu Arena
Yuya Uemura d. Gabriel Kidd (Kannuki Suplex Hold, 8:37)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Jeff Cobb [FREE] d. Will Ospreay [CHAOS] (Tour Of The Islands,
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Kota Ibushi d. Yujiro Takahashi [Bullet Club] (Kamigoye, 12:28)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Taichi [SZKG] d. Shingo Takagi [Los Ingobernables] (Black Mephisto, 16:21)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Jay White [Bullet Club] d. Minoru Suzuki [SZKG] (Blade Runner, 20:30)
G1 Climax 30 A Block: Kazuchika Okada [CHAOS] d. Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS] (Referee Stoppage, 26:13)
Does it gall you that the likes of Shingo Takagi, Minoru Suzuki, and Tomohiro Ishii will all finish with a losing record? BECAUSE IT SURE GALLS ME.
Yujiro is well on his way to being the first goose-egg since 2014. The likelihood of him beating Cobb on Friday is, erm, unlikely! Speaking of Cobb, it’s a little surprising, but also not really all that surprising, that he beat Ospreay, given their match at G1 Supercard in 2019. In this instance, it suddenly eliminates Will Ospreay from advancing to the Final after being one of the favorites. Let’s do the standings, shall we?
White: 12pts (6W 0D 2L) Ibushi: 12pts (6W 0D 2L) Okada: 12pts (6W 0D 2L) Ospreay: 10pts (5W 0D 3L) Taichi: 8pts (4W 0D 4L) Cobb: 8pts (4W 0D 4L) Suzuki: 6pts (3W 0D 5L) Ishii: 6pts (3W 0D 5L) Takagi: 6pts (3W 0D 5L) Yujiro: 0pts (0W 0D 8L)
Jay now goes top, after Ospreay’s loss, on head-to-head victories over Okada and Ibushi, and is now in the driver’s seat to go to his 2nd consecutive G1 Climax Final. But he isn’t alone. Ibushi and Okada are at his heels. Everyone else is now out, even Ospreay, due to a head-to-head loss to Ibushi. So here we go yo, here we go yo, so what’s so what’s so what’s the scenarios?
Jay White - Needs to beat Tomohiro Ishii. Even if Okada and Ibushi both win, he has head-to-heads over them, and this will advance with a win over Ishii. He wins, he’s in. If he loses, he’s out, because one of Okada,  or Ibushi could go above him; even a draw between Okada v. Ospreay, or indeed Ibushi v. Taichi, would put him out if he fails to overcome Ishii.
Kota Ibushi - Needs to beat Taichi, and needs Jay to lose to Ishii. Had head-to-head wins over Okada and Ospreay, but lost to Jay. If Jay wins, he’s out regardless of whether he beats Taichi, which given the mild push Taichi is getting, isn’t a foregone conclusion.
Kazuchika Okada - The least likely of the three to advance. Needs to beat or draw Will Ospreay, and hope both Jay and Ibushi lose as he has head-to-head losses to both. If either Jay or Ibushi win, he is out.
And with that, we have the storylines going into Friday. Tomorrow, we’ll see how B Block shapes up, which is a little more cut & dried, especially as two of the top contenders face each other on Saturday.
- 10/14/2020, Kanagawa Yokohama Budokan
Yota Tsuji v. Yuya Uemura
G1 Climax 30 B Block: YOSHI-HASHI [CHAOS] v. KENTA [Bullet Club]
G1 Climax 30 B Block: Juice Robinson v. Zack Sabre Jr. [SZKG]
G1 Climax 30 B Block: Toru Yano [CHAOS] v. Tetsuya Naito [Los Ingobernables]
G1 Climax 30 B Block: Hirooki Goto [CHAOS] v. EVIL [Bullet Club]
G1 Climax 30 B Block: Hiroshi Tanahashi v. SANADA [Los Ingobernables]

Give me the lowdown on YnM; I've heard of it but know nothing about it
It’s been a while since I’ve actually read it. So I’m not gonna be so good at this…  I can’t in good conscience recommend it unless it’s specifically “your type of thing” because there’s some… sketchy elements (Including past child rape) and I think it technically counts as queerbaiting, but here we go:At its core, it’s about Gods of Death just… doing their jobs. The Shinigmi are people who have died, so all your leads are dead people. They help guide lost spirits to the afterlife, and investigate mysterious deaths and stuff like that.
Your main characters are Asato Tsuzuki, a goofy, sweets-loving, alcoholic, extremely depressed guy who’s been dead since the 1920s, and his new partner Hisoka Kurosaki, a 16-year-old empath with a tragic backstory, and the only major character whose backstory you get a lot of clear explanation about.
The secondary main shinigami are Seiichiro Tatsumi, a stingy secretary who’s a shadow leader, kind of a dick, and an old partner of Tsuzuki’s, (It seems implied that they might have had more-than-friendly feelings for each other. Dude’s got a lot of hangups regarding Tsuzuki, but he’s also mean to him like a boss.) and Yutaka Watari, a friendly quirky scientist who’s presented as a close friend of Tsuzuki. I think he’s a… hm mechanical engineer? I don’t remember? He’s a jack-of-all-trades type scientist who likes to use his coworkers (especially Tsuzuki) as guinea pigs for his potion experiments that he does on the side. (Primarily he wants to make a sex-change potion, but he has made other things too~) He seems to like birds a lot, since he has three bird companion, the main being an owlet named 003.
Primarily (especially in the beginning, and the anime), their main antagonist is Dr. Kazutaka Muraki, a serial killer with a bizarre fixation on Tsuzuki, and a past connection to Hisoka. He’s directly involved in three of their major cases (and in the anime, there are 4 cases they focus on)
It’s a sorta serious manga with a LOT of goofy elements though, so it always keeps me going. It can be a downer, since they deal with death quite frequently, but the author likes to give them vacation chapters so, there’s that. And also there are serious scenes abruptly cut off with random comedy.
It’s got demons, plenty comic relief, lots of murders, and a few weird pervy guys harassing Tsuzuki. Like at least two that just straight up feel him up all the time.
“Recent” chapters have focused on other things, but the long hiatus has really made it hard to remember things about that…
Idk I’d need help to really solidify anything in a summary.
Side note: There are female Shinigami, they’re just not in the anime. They’re featured regularly in side and sometimes major stories in the manga. One of them is named Wakaba Kannuki, and she’s briefly in the anime but doesn’t serve a real purpose. She’s more important in certain manga storylines, and there are several other female characters that show up from time to time.
Feel free to ask for clarification or something more specific. I… I’ll do my best.

I’m gonna talk to the doc about possible neck and shoulder issues, but any ideas on how to keep hands/arms from doing Annoying Nerve Things after an over the shoulder chest harnesses? Is there a magical shoulder placement that might help? I’m getting tingling and numbness down the pinky side of my hands down the forearm, as well as parts of my thumbs and most of my fingertips, made worse by having my arms raised at the elbow or the shoulder. It gets worse for days before it gets better.
what you’re describing is almost certainly Nerve Damage, and it sounds REALLY bad.
there’s no single tie called an “over the shoulder chest harness,” so i’m not 100% sure what you’re talking about.
my top guesses based on what you’ve said here:
1.  you have ropes going across your outer arms too low (like, they’re too close to the elbow)
2.  you have an upper kannuki in a bad place
3.  you have ropes riding up into your armpits somehow.
either way, let me again emphasize that what your describing sounds really, REALLY bad.  these types of injuries are cumulative--meaning, once you get a nerve injury, it’s easier to get a similar injury in the same place.
as such, please immediately stop doing whatever it is that might be causing these problems, at least until you have a much better understanding of what’s going wrong and how you’ll prevent it moving forward.

Let's keep the river going with two names today! The first, 関, is usually read Seki but can also be Kan. The second, 伊川, can be either Ikawa or Igawa.
関 has two meanings, broadly speaking. One is gateway, connection, or barrier—like a checkpoint as you enter a new territory. The other means to involve or concerning, e.g. ●●に関する (__ ni kan suru) “relating to __.” It can be read seki, zeki, kaka.waru, karakuri, kannuki, or kan.
伊 can be read kare or i, and it’s the source of katakana イ i. Today it's used mostly in proper nouns, and it can mean Italy (ateji: 伊太利; now イタリア). It originally meant that one.
Finally, 川 means river, and is read kawa or sen.

A Red Devil named Targ Va-Sung, The Cleaver. The logo on his coat is of The Red Fist Devil Brigade, a devil mercenary company he was formerly part of. The one other remnant from his time there, besides his scars, is his broken blade Ya'gan. His posture and demeanor is stiff and stoic, and is supposed to emulate something between Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein and Kannuki The Giant from Yojimbo.
