My hero is Karadjordje. He was a Serbian revolutionary who led the struggle for his country's independence from the Ottoman Empire during the First Serbian Uprising. He is also the founder of the Karadjordjevic dynasty.
Just by looking at pictures of him, you clearly can see a tall, handsome man. With his luscious mustaches and sad eyes, it is more than obvious why he was so popular with Serbian people.
Famous and renowned for his commanding skills, he was feared by almost all of the Turkish soldiers. The way he behaved both on the battlefield and in private demanded obedience and loyalty. He was able to give hope to an average Serbian villager to stand up against a way more powerful army.
The main reason why Karadjordje is my hero is that he laid the foundation of free Serbia, therefore, making it possible for me to be born in a free country. It is because of people like him that I can be loud and proud about my heritage.

Which famous royal palaces have you been to and if possible can you rank them?
Part 1
Thank you for your interesting question. Let's go from my homeland
Beli Dvor, "White Court" is a Karadjordjevic palace in Belgrade, Serbia. I visited it I recently and I strongly recommend! It isn't to expensive, and you have a guide who tells you the history of each room and object in it, and you can also see a bunch of items that belonged to the royal family themselves! I even saw several letters to and from the Romanovs :))

I also have visited Queen Elizabeth II's royal palace in Singapure. I was little and we were at my parent's friend's. My mom and dad wanted to come in but I was so scared of Lilibet (who would have thought that years later I would adore her)! Don't ask ME, I just thought she was inside at that moment and I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. 😹😪 Later I actually liked it and remember many scenes. I can recall and conclude from the pictures that I scrawled on the Internet later and that my parents showed me, that was very interesting! You can get acquainted with many everyday items used by members of the British family, starting from a toothbrush, through spare shoelaces and various belts and ribbons.
If you ever have the chance to visit Barcelona, you must go to Palau Nacional!
Tumblr media
The design of the National Palace is a unified style of Spanish Renaissance architecture with an air of academic classicism.
It is the result of different functional forms and construction procedures, resolved by a technical language attributed to the Barcelona School of Architecture. The construction of the Palace consists of the combination of traditional systems based on symmetry, as clearly outlined in its composition and, that of the building procedure dominated by more modern techniques and materials such as the use of concrete.

9/10
I have been to Budim Castle, Hungary, two years ago! An amazing historical place showing many eras of human past... Believe it or not, the oldest part is from 1265! This is one of the palaces with the greatest royal history in the world and that's what interests us all here the most ;)

There is a lot to see both inside and out, everything you see here will make you forget about everything else and think deeply about everything you see... I really did not regret the time or money I spent here! As you move from room to room, each from a different year, and a lot of them divided by even centuries, you will have the feeling that you are witnessing history, that you are a part of that harsh but seductive and fascinating world of the Habsburgs.
Unfortunately, I can't rank all of these and make a list of what I like the most and what I like the least, because I really think all the royal palaces are amazing and breathtaking. When you start your trip around Europe (and the world) make sure to visit at least one of these <3
I will make another post with pics of Elizabeth's court in Singapore, and Part 2 too!
| hope my experience helped |
