Desde el momento en que nacemos, el sonido resuena a través de nuestros huesos, haciendo eco en nuestros tímpanos y zumbando dentro de nuestros cerebros.

Coches acelerando, gente charlando, música, perros ladrando, máquinas de café chirriando, cortacéspedes rugiendo, cajas registradoras pitando, teléfonos sonando, cubiertos traqueteando, sirenas aullando...

.

Sin embargo, en el momento en que coloco mis auriculares, soy transportado al mundo del silencio.

.

Mi cuerpo exhala, mi frente se suaviza y mis manos se relajan.

.

Envuelvo mis brazos alrededor del silencio en pura gratitud, y susurro: "¡GRACIAS!"

Find Time to Be Bored

           Boredom is not something we should escape. In fact, boredom is “our time”. It is our time “to think a little bit differently, a little bit divergently, and a little more creatively”  (Alter, 2017) It is in these times also that we come to know more of ourselves, thus, an opportunity for self-growth. However, when we spend too much time on our screens and on social media, we escape boredom yet we are robbed of our time. We tend to keep ourselves busy, and updated with our newsfeeds that keeps track of the lives of others, yet we lose track of our own, and so we fail to grow.
