That sounds strangely familiar. It used to be mum and dad scouring the dales for Andy.
Another one and done scene. Katie shows up at the garage asking Robert if he’s seen Daz who’s gone on walkabout.

He's totally sneaking up behind her, slipping into the house as silently as possible, home early for once. There's a telltale grin touching his lips, childish in nature as he moves forward. One arm loops easily around Katie's waist, the other playfully covering her eyes as Andrew lightly kisses the back of her neck. "Guess who." He murmurs, utterly playful as he pulls her against him. // @survivedempathy
she  was  thinking  of  what  to  do  for  dinner.  the  debate  in  mind  of  what  would  keep  best  on  a  low  heat  in  the  oven.  a  meal  kept  that  wouldn’t  taste  overcooked  for  when  he  would  come  home.  a  small  light  laugh  escaped  her  lips  as  she  felt  her  husbands  arm  around  her  waist.  her  body  melting  into  his.  HOME  ,  he  felt  like  home. “hmm  ,  is  it  the  guy  off of  the  daz  advert.” she  teased  lightly  before  she  turned  to  look  at  andrew.  “oh  darn  it’s  you.”

“After all, isn't the purpose of the novel, or of a museum, for that matter, to relate our memories with such sincerity as to transform individual happiness into a happiness all can share?”
― Orhan Pamuk, The Museum of Innocence
October 2017. It was bad enough trying to sell two houses, let alone that one of those houses, my father-in-law’s, had been accumulating ‘stuff’ since they had it built in 1962. Now 55 years later me and my partner had the onerous task of clearing it. The loft was the worst, piled high with boxes and furniture, I knew we had a problem when I set my hands on a pile of cardboard inserts, you know those ones they put in men’s shirts, he’d kept all those too. Come to think of it.. I remember how they chuckled when they used to say ‘when we’re gone you and Katie will have a such a job clearing that loft’. In the end, not knowing then that I would be using this as source material in a future MA , I chose to get Steve the house clearence man in. I have regrets, the shirt inserts for one,  that small brown bottle marked ‘Poison’ another, the ancient packet of DAZ under the sink marked  thruppence, the very old pack of disposable razors hung on his workshop wall (why, he’s always had a beard?). So too the paper spike with hundred of bills on it going back to 1962. But then, because John was a hoarder, he was also fastidious, and although he couldn’t see well enough to pack up all his belongings and tools of the life long watch maker,  he was sharp eyed enough to make me pack up 90 percent of his cluttered workshop (and it’s thousands of clock components) not letting me throw away things that looked useless to my eyes. That and the filing cabinets, photos, stamps, mystery boxes and safe that I’ve yet to open to this day. Now two years to the month after his wife’s passing, I’m glad that he did. But after all the cataloging, there’s a lot of spontaneity about things that come into my head, there’s small threads connecting things, and I have to trust in my intuition, because after all as Orhan Pamuk says above, I need to make a happiness out of these things all can share in.

BobbyWatch: Summer, Part 3
Spoilers galore.
Oh. Why can’t you see him, Kate?
And oof...he just recognized her. LOOK AT THOSE SAD PUPPY EYES HOW ARE YOU NOT MELTING.
I’m not sure how much more of watching his schools and teachers fail him I can take. He should have a scribe. He should have accommodations, he should
No. Shaun stop. Shaun, STOP, baby! NO.
I am so fucking angry at this school. Shaun was a kid CLEARLY at risk. He had anger issues and a learning disability and he was struggling and hurting. He should never have been allowed out of that classroom alone. I hate all of this. I hate it so much.
LOL adorable bubble-blowing Bobby.
Tumblr media
Kate? Aaww, she came to see him.
I get why Kate’s mom didn’t like him. We’re seeing his perspective, but from hers he was a troublemaker who kept getting expelled from school and...apparently went to prison? Yikes.
He’s dying, Katy. Dying.
What do you mean you shouldn’t have come? Of course you should have!
“Fuckers shouldn’t get me angry, then.” No, Young Shaun. I love you, but you are in charge of your own actions no matter what other people do. (I can’t stop reacting to him as a teacher.)
Oh, Daniel. Poor hurting sad baby.
Watching in HD sucks when they’re showing vomit, just saying.
OMG I CAN SEE THE TITLES OF THE PORN MOVIES ON THE TABLE ONE OF THEM IS “FORREST HUMP” I AM SCREAMING
Uh-oh...Daz is hurting or can’t breathe or something.
Oh.
Oh no.
Ah. And I’m betting this is how he got sent to prison. You stupid, angry, directionless boys. (Have I ever mentioned that I have a special affinity for “problem kids”? I’m not sure why or how because I was the biggest fucking goody two-shoes in the entire world. I never went to a single party in high school and even in college I got drunk probably a total of like six times in four years. But in the eleven years I’ve been teaching, the “difficult” kids are the ones that I get along with best. Always have. Watching these boys being shunted aside, treated as worthless, denied any help or compassion - it’s making my blood boil.)
“I’ve had enough now.” *cue yet more tears even though I’ve been low-key crying pretty much the whole movie*

Fanfic: The Heart Of Christmas
to @robronfanatic, love from your secret santa
Christmas 2018
“You barely talk about your past, Rob.  I want to know everything.”  Liv moaned.  “You’re like Fort Knox when it comes to discussing it.”
“Liv, I’m 32 so I’ve had a lot of Christmas days.     Pick two years and I’ll tell you all about them.”  He offered to make his life easier.
“1995 and 2005”
“Trust you to pick two of the worst years.”  Robert smiled as he set off on the story of those two Christmas Days, just as Aaron arrived holding Seb, who was flat out after the excitement of his first Christmas at the Mill.
1995
The frosty atmosphere at the table was all so telling.   The screaming hadn’t began yet, but he knew it was coming.  Silence.   Pure silence all around the room.   He looked at his mother who sat next to him, tears pouring down her face.   She looked down and didn’t face her husband, his father.  Instead she got up and went out of the room, without another look exchanged.  The little boy rose up and turned to face his father, who had his arms folded and in a huff.
“Why did you do that, dad?”    He whinged.
His father looked at him, furiously.   “Hey, it’s not your fault that your mother is whining again.   When it’s Christmas Eve.”   He bitterly remarked and stormed out the room, making sure the door was slammed behind him.
Yeah, it was Christmas Eve, but it didn’t feel anything that would resemble a nine-year-old should on this day of the year.  Instead, he felt lonely and wished he could be back on the other farm, with the army man for just one day.  He treat him right, but he was trapped in a house full of war.
His father had had an affair again.  Well, a one off.   But this time, it was worse.  He had actually gotten the woman pregnant.  Question of paternity flew through the village.   Robert didn’t know about this, until some boys had taunted at him at school about it.  And that night, he had confronted his parents with the information and it all came flooding out when his mother started to cry and hug him.
He had went to bed earlier that night.  Earlier than usual, if only to get away from the shouting.   As the last time it had lead him to running away from home and the police got involved.  How could his dad do this to his mother, the woman he was supposed to love?   Why couldn’t one person be good enough for him?  But he would have to put up with it.
He must have woken up in the night.   A nightmare woke him up.  He was in the living room and his parents were fighting.   Suddenly, the house was on fire.  He tried to save them, but they were too busy screaming their lungs off.   And they disappeared into the fire and nobody could save them.  He was an orphan.   A loner in the world.
He heard his parents downstairs.  They were shouting.  Victoria was in bed, luckily.  He heard something he wouldn’t be able to shake off that easily.  Most of the shouting was muffled, but this was clear.
“Sometimes, I wish that baby boy was mine.   My son, hey.”   He sounded a bit drunk.
“You’ve already got Robert.”    She shouted back at him.
“Yeah, but Robert is so whiny most of the time.   He went missing and then when he got back, he hardly showed any remorse or guilt, for us being so worried.  I don’t know, but I wish I could start again.”
Robert closed his eyes as tears rushed down his cheeks.   He was a disappointment.   He cried for the rest of the night, he couldn’t get back to sleep.   Maybe he heard it wrong, maybe it was a dream.  He didn’t know.
The next morning when he came down – Christmas morning.   His dad was sitting there with his mother, they seemed in love again.  He smiled to them.  His father smiled back and said.   “Merry Christmas, son.”   He hugged him.  And Sarah did too.  But he couldn’t sake the comment off from his father.   He would never be able to.
2005
He’d been kicked out the village.   By his own father.  He never meant for Max King to die, for once, he wished that his father would have helped him out, like he did with Andy and the barn.   But no, he always came second best once Andy had an interest in farming and he didn’t.   He never intended to hurt Andy the way he did.   But he and Katie fell in love.  But he ruined that.   His nightmare had come true, he was an orphan, a loner – his mum had died in the barn fire, lit by Andy and his father had disowned him for the final time.
The fear of being alone had crept in.   And it was taking over him.   He was in the village once again.   Hoping for some reconciliation with his family and his father, but he knew he wouldn’t get it.  He walked over the Tenants cottage.  It was Christmas morning.   He had slept in a bus stop that night, somewhere near Emmerdale and caught the bus.
He peaked through the window and saw the whole family gathered.   Victoria was smiling and opening her present under the Christmas tree.   They all looked happy, his father was smiling like there was no tomorrow and Andy and Daz were there, having a beer, all happy.   And Diane, even a woman with cancer, was smiling and hugging her husband, his father.  He turned away and he heard the door open, so he rushed away before anyone could see him.  It was his father.   He looked again, but luckily his dad didn’t catch sign of him, hopefully.
That was the moment he decided not to come back to the village (until his father’s funeral).   He wouldn’t come back.  He would never come back.  He swore to himself.   They were better off without him.  He didn’t deserve happiness.   He had to survive and fend for himself as this was all he deserved…for being “a disappointment” and “a disgrace to the family name”.
2018
“God, I thought I’d had a hard life.  Thanks for sharing it.”  Liv hugged him as she walked past him.   “Anyone want more Christmas pud?”
Aaron jokingly rubbed Robert’s stomach.  “If he has anymore, he’ll look like a pudding.”
Robert playfully smacked him on the thigh as he put his arms out so Aaron could pass him Seb.   “He’s going to sleep through.  I’ll put him down and then we can crack open a few more tins.”
Liv smiled.  “Great, I’m gasping for some.”
“So it’ll be orange juice for you then.”  Aaron got up and headed through to kitchen.  “I don’t think I’ll be able to carry the beer.  My arms are dead.  Seb’s definitely having a growth spurt.”
“I’ll help you if I can just have some lemonade with a teensy bit of wine.   I’ve been good lately and stayed off the booze.”
Aaron rolled his eyes.   “So what was that incident with you and Gabby at the school Christmas party.  You’re not telling me that the vodka made it in the punch all by itself.”
“Chill out.  It’s not like I spiked the whole punch bowl.  It was only mine and Gabby’s glass.  How was I to know that one of the teachers would mistake my glass for his.   I mean who’s allergic to Vodka.”
“Well obviously, Mr Palmer is.   Liv, he looked like a beetroot.  It’s lucky he didn’t get really sick.”  Aaron was unimpressed by her attitude.
“He’s the physics teacher and he doesn’t like me so he deserved it.  Anyway I’ve done my time.   Two after school detentions was well over the top for such a minor misdemeanour.    I’m sure it went against my rights.”
Robert appeared to interrupt the sibling squabble.  “I sometimes wonder if I would’ve been better staying away from Emmerdale.”  He joked.
“What?  After what you’ve just told us tonight.  I would say you are well lucky to have us.”  Liv fired back with sarcasm.  “I mean this is our first proper family Christmas in our home and I’ve loved it.  It’s just a shame I’ve got to go to mum’s in two days.   I want to stay here with you guys and Seb.  I mean you’ll miss me.”
Robert screwed his face up and looked at Aaron.  “Will we miss her?   You were just saying before how nice it’ll be to have some peace and quiet around here.”
Liv glared at her brother who started to laugh.  “Stop winding, Rob.  You know we’ll both miss her.  She’s not all bad. I mean she makes a handy babysitter so we can go out and have fun.”  He continued joking around.
“Is that all I am to you… a babysitter?  I’m glad I’m going away.  A break from two can only be a good thing.”  She retaliated.  “It’s not like I get much sleep living here.  I mean I’ve never heard two people make so much noise… every night.  I mean, is that even normal?  Then Seb wakes me up.   I mean he doesn’t even cry… it’s that incessant baby chatter that he does.”   She whinged.
“Keep moaning and we won’t need to give you your extra pressie.”  Aaron smirked.
“What pressie?”   She was excited.    “You got me something else.  I thought the driving lessons were it.”
Robert shook his head.  “Since this is our first family Christmas together, we’re going away in two days.”
Liv looked hurt.   “The three of you are going away?”
“No actually… all six of us.”
“Six?” She asked completely puzzled.
“Yeah, you, me, your mum, Paddy and Chas.”  Robert explained.
“Where are we going?”
“Ibiza… just for five days.”
“you’re kidding.   Mum’s coming.”
“Yeah, she’s meeting us out there.”  Aaron commented.
Liv’s face gave away her excitement with the biggest grin ever.    “You’re amazing… both of you.  And just think a year ago, I was trying to set you up with some boring doctor.”
Aaron smirked.   “Well I had a lucky escape there.   Anyway if I’d still been with him, I would’ve missed out on this…” He gestured towards Robert and Liv.   “I never thought I could have the perfect family but I have.”
Robert hugged him.  “Do you know this is the first time I’ve ever felt at home at Christmas.”
THE END - MERRY CHRISTMAS

@agent13: Jackie hasn’t been active in quite a while, but she’s always been kind to me and her blog has has A+ opinions and content.
@ar-se-ne: IDEK how long I’ve been following Cristian, but he’s a really nice guy with whom I have similar interests. He’s also someone that I’ve kind of of been inspired by in some ways. I don’t want to get too personal information, but it involves introspection and self improvement and yeah. I’m proud of him. He should be proud of himself.
@chujo-hime: I remember like circa 2012-2013 I had a ~moment~ because the webmaster of FYBN followed me. Chujo always has quality content, and is someone I respect for being very genuine and respectful. If something’s drawn her ire or made her bitter, she has a reason for it, and can write a solid meta on why it’s bullshit. At the same time, she’s someone who I’ve looked to when I consider how to handle my own fandom disagreements. It’s not worth arguing with people on the internet, it’s never fun. So long as people enjoy what they enjoy? Stay in their lane and let others do the same? We can all get along~~~
@cimikat: Katie is another person who I don’t even remember following. I can’t really remember my tumblr experience before her, though? I can say without any hyperbole though that she’s probably the nicest person I’ve ever encountered on this website? Literally, I can’t think of a single time I’ve seen her be salty. Upset and disappointed, sure, but she doesn’t wallow in negativity the way some people do and have in the past. If she enjoys something, she’s enthusiastic about it. If she no longer enjoys it? You won’t see her b*tch about it. She’s just very upbeat.
@dazzledfirestar: Daz shares my love of certain villains (Sin and Crossbones) while fully recognizing they’re deplorable human beings. That’s just one of the more superficial reasons I respect her. She’s another person who’s also genuine, and whom by following I feel like I’ve actually learned a lot? And I actually like to learn. Ignorance isn’t always mean spirited, and in the past I’ll admit I’ve been an ignorant white boy. Not that I was prejudice, there was just a lot I was either blind to or unaware of.  I’ve learned a lot about Romani culture by following Daz. A lot of history, a lot about the struggles and persecution they still face to this day. I also learned lot about the LGBT community; which honestly was a big help when I was trying to figure out/accept my bisexuality.
@diaryofawriter: What do I even say about you? believe we met because we both RP’d in the same fandoms and enjoyed the same content. Comics, OUAT, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. She’s both listened to me flail or rant countless times, either feigning or expressing genuine interest… for that I’m truly appreciative. She’s also helped me when it comes to letting go of things that are no longer fun or enjoyable for me (OUAT) and focus on the things that do bring me joy. A role model in that sense. >.>
@diisnerd: Leah. Leah was someone I met though a mutual friend, and while they’re closer than I am with her… I let me just say I have so much fucking respect for Leah. She’s just a good, loyal, protective, and caring friend. We have a lot of the same interests, too. We don’t talk all that often about them, but when we do it’s always an enjoyable conversation.
@dreamimpcssiblethings: Kath. Jesus. You know how much you mean to me, I should hope. You’re one of my best friends. It’s not even that we like a lot of the same things (we do) but you’re just very hard not to like? You’re super intelligent, super passionate. Be it about fandom things, classic literature, or just life. If one good thing came out of the rise and fall of my OUAT fandom, it was meeting you. All the salt is worth it for knowing you~
@ilikethequiet: Ally was one of the first people I met in the OUAT fandom, via a mutual friend/aquiantence. She’s a wizard when it comes to making edits and graphics. She’s someone with whom I’ve been salty on many an occasion, and I lured her into the iZombie fandom with me when our favorite actors transitioned over to that show. She’s just a delight. She also somehow made an AU graphic for a trashy ~problematic~ hateship look classy? Real friends hunt down topless screencaps so they can make you smutty collages for your birthday.
@jjoelswatch: Sarah is one of the first people I can remember following on tumblr. She’s another person where I wouldn’t recognize my dash without her. I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but I really respect her. She’s just a good person, very down to Earth and very witty. We don’t talk that much, but it’s always very pleasant when we do? Sarah was the first one to reach out and respond when I came out as bi. I’m still not out to my family. When I posted that little confession, I didn’t know what to expect. I simultaneously cared and didn’t care how people responded. It was weird, because it was something I had tried to deny and rationalize for so long. It’s something that no one should even care about, but Sarah empathized and realized it was kind of a big deal for me? Her reassurance that I wasn’t alone, even in such a short and concise message meant a lot. She’s one of my favorite mutals tbh.
@kennyhoemega: Bethany is a Goth Goddess. I’m not just saying that because she demanded the best compliment. On a superficial level, she’s just really pretty?? Now that’s out of the way, let me tell you legitimate reasons why she’s one of my favorite people to follow. She’s got great taste in music, she loves Star Wars, dabbles in Marvel and Harry Potter. You see a theme here with people I follow. She just also tends to reblog really neat things unrelated to those? I’ve gotten into astrology because of her. It’s mostly her fault that I’ve started watching wrestling again, bc there’s nothing good on TV and her passion is contagious and the gifs she reblogs are wild. She also has the best tags out of anyone I follow, bar none. I don’t even know when I first followed her either, around 2012 or so, but I know that it was absolutely 100% Sarah’s fault. Thank you, Sarah. TBH the first time I remember interacting with Bethany was when I added a gif and sarcastic comment to one of her salty posts about people trying to woobify Brock Rumlow. The next day, I realized this was likely not the best way to make a first impression? Fortunately she assured me that she got it, and that we were cool. Which is a relief, because as I’ve told her (and IDK if she believes me) she’s probably one of the coolest people I follow? It’s come to light that neither of us are big talkers, so we don’t actually talk that much… but she’s really rad. IDK when it started but she’s consistently been in my tumblr crushes for ages. Lots of mutual reblogging, again, lots of respect. She’s witty and intelligent. That’s not butt-kissin’, I’ve seen her post about certain tests and looked them up out of curiosity and wow. Yeah. Bethany also has the longest compliment, so that should make her happy. There was something about my needing a nuclear bunker if she wasn’t on this list. She deserves it though, she’s another one of my faves.
@kittenspawn: Nichole is my unofficial big sister. I say that as someone who actually has a big sister. She messaged me in 2012 with questions about Bucky and Natasha, and from that point on she was screwed. She got me into Hellboy in turn, but I like to think I’ve thoroughly corrupted her and caused her to spend far too much money on certain things. Nichole is someone who I can go weeks without talking to, and yet we can fall right back into conversation as if we talked the night before. She’s been a terrible enabler over the years, but she’s also been there for me during some difficult times and when I’ve done very stupid and questionable things. I know she’ll say I’ve been there for her as well, but the scales are seriously tipped here. When I need advice, or when I need to talk to someone about something serious… she’s the person I go to. I can always count on her, and she’s pretty much family at this point.
@ohmygil: Gil. I think I found you through Davis? You’re just a very sensible person, and very rational about a lot of things. It’s refreshing to see that on the internet these days. You’re someone who I don’t think I’ve ever had a actual ‘discussion’ with, but I’m including you here because I really enjoy your presence on my dash. I stopped reading DC regularly with the New 52, and pretty much all my DC intake these days is absorbed through your blog. You also get points for liking Superman. Some people think he’s too powerful, or a big boy scout, and while I’ve never regularly collected his titles I am a fan.
@prof-anity: …You know, I was tempted to leave you off this list just to be a dick. Yours would be the longest entry, so I’m keeping it short because what is there to even say? How much needs to be said? Seven years ago you met a bitter teenage douchebag on a message board. You made the mistake of accepting his friendship when he reached out to you. You’ve stuck with me through highs and lows, man. It’s one of those relationships again, where we may not talk every day. We may not be up to date on the details and goings on in each other’s lives… but you said it yourself. Our friendship has been one of the best constants in the past seven years. A third of your life, btw. Isn’t that depressing? You are, truly, the best friend I have ever had. One day I’m going to meet you, hug you, and then insult you to your face. You’re truly a brother to me. I love you.
@readytocomply: Stef! Stef is a delight. Always pleasant, always fun. She’s also super creative? She makes great edits, great cosplays, and is just pretty damn great over all. Stef is another person who I try to model myself after when it comes to shipping things. Re: Multi-Shipping. Stef ships Steve and Bucky. I do not. Stef also ships Bucky and Natasha. Stef respects canon and appreciates Sharon Carter. All this may sound inane but I’m glad I didn’t meet Stef until I did, because 2013 Tim might have been a little asshole re his ships and missed out befriending a great person because of his own stubborness… that could cross into douchebaggery. Stef has quality content on her blog at all times. Sebastian Stan. Marvel. Star Wars. Mark Hamill.. Harry Potter. Tron. Just general film. Chicken nuggets. Stef is a quality person with a quality blog.
@rocktheholygrail: Dana is someone I met through the iZombie fandom, and she is another wizard. A gif wizard, who has too often indulged my requests or suggestions. She’s another person whose enthusiasm is contagious. I was able to convince her to watch the entirety of Prison Break (save the revival) in less than a month before it was taken off Netflix. I don’t think I ever apologized for that. Dana also is trash tho, bc like me, her favorite iZombie character is the trashiest. I say that tongue in cheek, at least the first part. It’s really been great though to have someone who recognize a character as both human and horrible, and who is capable of watching and enjoying them despite their being problematic. If this was another fandom, I’d expect to be judged or ostracized, but instead I’m enabled once again.
@swanmagic: Gia is another person who doesn’t post on tumblr much (at least her personal) these days, but I’m including her because she’s been one of my favorite RP partners for years and we still talk from time to time on twitter. She’s just a great writer, great person, great friend. She’s another person who has excellent (and varied) musical taste.
@thealbooty: I met Alberto through Davis. It’s another thing where I don’t remember the circumstances, there was just one day where suddenly Alberto was in my life. Alberto is just a good guy… and I just mean good. He’s pure. If Davis is Spongebob, I’m Squidward and Alberto is Patrick. Only not as dumb. We don’t talk as much these days which makes me sad, but I love him too. Back in the day the three of us used to have group Skype chats and watch movies together. There was one day when Davis couldn’t make it or wasn’t online, and he and I just watched Hellboy and chatted for a few hours. That’s when Alberto went from being a friend of a friend to my friend. I’m glad he’s my friend.
@thejazzdalek: Max is another person, like Gil, who I’ve never really had a discussion with? He’s followed me for ages though, both on tumblr and on twitter and I appreciate that. I don’t really know him that well after all this time, embarrassingly. He seems like a nice guy, though. Big into Doctor Who, OUAT, DC, Marvel, just sci-fi and fantasy in general.
@timelessmulder: Emily-Alice is someone who I’ve been mutuals with since like 2012 I think. I don’t even know if we’re in the same fandoms anymore, but we keep following each other regardless. Over the years we’ve discussed everything from OUAT to DC, and these days when we talk it’s mostly to pick apart The Flash. She’s someone who has been with me for ages though, and has seen things.
@uhohjonsnow: So Betty is one of the first friends I actually made on tumblr when I engaged in fandom? I was an obnoxious teenage white boy who thought he was straight and acted like it, and she tolerated me anyway. Again, she’s someone who was witness to a lot of nonsense. We really were dicks to each other, lmao. I adore her though, bc she really is sweet and laid back. We went for years without talking, not due to any falling out, but we just drifted apart. She actually took a year off tumblr and recently returned, and we reconnected. She also accidentally deleted her blog and started fresh, so um, go follow her!
@uminoko: We’ve been mutuals for like years, and she’s just a nice person? Again, that’s a pathetic compliment, but it is true. She’s also another individual who I feel I’ve learned from by following? Part of that has to due with her being a former civil rights lawyer, but beyond that she’s just yet another smarty pants who I don’t talk to that much. She also  messaged me privately when I came out, and made me laugh when I needed it. Also, she’s an actual Russian who is a fan of Black Widow and Winter Soldier.
@uncleclustersthirdbrain: Donnie. This might be a little weird, because Donnie and I only reconnected like two weeks ago after three years of not really talking to each other? Again, there’s no bad blood, and he deserves to be on here. I’ve actually known him for five years, we met through his girlfriend Morgan. Donnie’s another person who has seen things, re seen me at my worst. Most obnoxious, outspoken, salty, dickish… and so on. I’ve always sort of looked up to him, though? Back when 17 going on 18 year old Tim met him, there was a sort of ‘notice me sempai’ thing going on. He’s yet another person who is too cool for me. In spite of toolish tendencies, there were times when Donnie reached out to make sure I was okay when I was being dramatic and having anxiety attacks over damn comic books. It sounds ridiculous, and it was, but at the time comics were my escape and how I dealt with a lot of tough shit I was going through. I was invested. Heavily invested, to an unhealthy degree. He’s just a good person who cares about his friends, and people in general. He’s also a fucking brilliant writer, who just recently put out his first comic. So I’m going to use this as another excuse to pimp it for him. Not because he’s my friend, but because I’m a selfish bastard who wants to read more and wants you to give him money so he can make more. He makes no personal profit from it, all the money goes towards paying his artists and the production. I’ve pretty much walked away from buying monthly comics, but as I’ve told Donnie, this is one I would pull. The first issue of And The Hare had some of the best dialogue I’ve read in a comic in easily the last year. At least.
@xeleyan-tequila: I met Chelsea through the OUAT fandom, and like me she gave up on the show a long time ago. She’s another person I don’t really talk to that much these days, but she’s a lovely person with a lovely blog who posts a little bit of everything. There are personal details to our relationship I won’t get into bc it’s no one’s business, and though we’re still friendly we sort of fell out of touch. I enjoy following her though, and she’s a wonderful human being.

Planning your wedding with ease and getting married stress free
That’s right, you heard it here first, I’ve gathered tips and advice from twenty one of the North East’s finest wedding suppliers to help you plan, book, meet, allocate, visit, arrange all of your wedding needs, easily and stress free, to help you make the most of your wedding day!
Sounds good right!?
Daz Mack x
  The Venue
I reached out to two lush venues which I love photographing at for their tips for couples, both when looking for a venue, and on the wedding day itself.
Wharfedale Grange – www.wharfedalegrange.co.uk
“A practical tip from us…make sure your guests can get home! Nothing puts a dampener on the day quite like having to wait 2 and a half or 3 hours outside for a taxi when the venue closes!
Here at Wharfedale Grange we’ve a private hire firm just 5 minutes away plus in the opposite direction, Harrogate is just 10 minutes away.
You should also be looking for exclusivity. An eye for detail. And luxury written all over it!”
Carolyn from Danby Castle – www.eskvalleyweddings.com – says this:
“When looking for a venue check what is included within your venue hire and food costs. If you are not having a ‘set package, then ask for a fully itemised quote detailing each cost per person.
Please do not accept one overall price as if your numbers change, you will want to know exactly how it will affect you financially.
Secondly spend time together!! It is your wedding day and we really want you to enjoy it together. This is why we always suggest you walk back down the aisle, into the Jury Room and have your drinks and canapes alone, whilst swapping stories of what happened the night before and whilst getting ready.
After all, you have just got married! That is so exciting and sometimes you need a few moments to let it sink in, before you come downstairs to your families and friends!”
    The Rings
Hamilton and Lewis are a North East based Jewellery company I’ve worked with before. They can supply the diamonds and bands separately, and with no over heads like shops, can give you the best price! – www.hamiltonandlewis.co.uk
  The Flowers
Flowerhouse – https://flowerhouseuk.com
The amazing Gill from Flowerhouse in Stockton gave me this very wise piece of advice when it comes to both wedding suppliers and Flowers.
“My biggest piece of advice is if you know what suppliers you want to use, book them ASAP. Don’t be afraid of letting the suppliers know your budget and they can advise how spend it wisely.
In terms of flower advice it would be if possible speak to your florist the year before you get married in the same month as your wedding, all the flowers that are available for the wedding will be in season and you can see how your flowers will look.”
The Cake
I spoke to the wonderful Debbie Gillespie of Debbie Gillespie Cake Design – Bespoke Wedding Cake Designer for some advice for you guys, she definitely knows what she its talking about when it comes to both advice and cakes!
www.debbiegillespiecakedesign.co.uk
“Your wedding, your rules!! Don’t be tempted to make your wedding all about other people or pretty images from Pinterest – make it personal and reflective of your lives together. It will resonate with your guests and make the whole planning experience a lot more enjoyable. I personally love it when couples want to include their children/pets or shared interests and the cake is the ideal opportunity to be bold and have a little fun.”
“Firstly consider your budget – there is no point doing research on a company who way exceeds it. Secondly, do your homework and check a supplier’s website and social media to look at previous work/testimonials and that their style fits with your own. Thirdly, don’t be afraid to ask questions – any supplier worth their sort will not hesitate to answer them honestly and truthfully.”
    Venue Styling
I reached out the the amazing Ambience Venue Styling York for some advice on the perfect Decor for a wedding, these guys are amazing and certainly know their stuff. Laura says this:
“Once you’ve picked your venue and you’ve set a date, it’s time to start planning your styling and decor! When having your show round at the venue, make a note of the colours and furnishings used in the room.
Take pictures of the space and height of the ceilings so you can visualise the flow and get a good understanding of the key areas you’d like to focus on. High ceilings showcase tall centrepieces at their finest whilst patterned carpets may look better teamed with a more neutral colour palette.
When selecting colours, use a palette that best compliments the room but also works with the season in which you’ll be married. Working with seasonal items, particularly when it comes to flowers, will make your styling much more cost effective.
Finally, don’t be afraid to get creative – styling has evolved so much over the years that you can be as bold as you want!”
When looking for Venue Stylists couples should be finding a stress free process where clients are literally guided through their style journey! Experienced stylists with a friendly and inspirational approach towards achieving your dream wedding day!”
  Bride Styling
My best mate Katy from “What Katy Did Next” (She carries a bag around with my name on it) gave this amazing advice for you couples. She makes the most beautiful jewellery and accessories by hand, and I think you’ll be blown away when you check them out!
“Don’t be afraid to go Bespoke – if there is something you want, ask for it! A lot of my Brides love my designs but perhaps a tweak here and there would make it perfect for them, some Brides love my style but they have a completely crazy idea and are nervous to ask because of the price tag that comes with ‘Bespoke’!
This isn’t always the case – I love taking on Bespoke clients and the prices often dont differ drastically to those of my existing pieces, I’m happy to help and dying to make your wedding dream complete. And it’s not just me, there are tons of suppliers that love an individual couple and are happy to help you where they can. If you don’t ask, you don’t get!
What Katy Did Next is a Bridal Headwear label based in North East England run by me, Katy! I specialise in creating pieces for the truly individual bride with a passion for accessories, a love of fashion and a desire for something completely handmade and unique.”
Stationary
Gray Starling offer such beautiful stationary, from place settings to invitations, you definitely need to take a look at their beautiful work.
Carolyn says this “Couples come to us for something a bit different and a personal hands on experience. More often than not we hold consultations either in person or over the video call, you really need to set your eyes on our box of samples. When your guests receive your Wedding invitation they need to be receiving part of your soul, something they’ve never seen before you want to wow them! First impressions are so important.”
She also has the perfect tip for making the most of your wedding day.
“It’s really easy to get bogged down with what everyone else wants, including family. Remember it’s your day, unleash a bit of personality and get creative, get that ska band you saw recently, hang crystal chandeliers from the trees, wear a coloured dress or even a chic trouser suit, break tradition! Have fun! Always ask for help if you need it, even if you don’t order with us we’ll always offer expert advice and point you in the right direction.”
Have a look at their beautiful work: www.graystarling.com
    Your Name in Lights
I always know instantly when I walk into a wedding if its Coco Luminaire lighting the place up. Their lights are not only always awesome, they have a HUGE range of cool slogans and fancy neon signs to meet your needs.
Laura from Coco Luminaire says this about looking for light up letters:
“When booking Illuminated props, I would recommend looking at the size and style of your wedding venue and see what will fit best from our wide collection. We have a range of small and large signs, from neons to Illuminated hearts and letters; some suit venues better than others due to the size and space in the room. If you are unsure don’t hesitate to get in touch we can always send you across images of inspiration in your venue.”
I also asked what a good tip for a bride and groom would be to have a stress free day.
“My number 1 tip has to be make your wedding day about you both. Pick the food, drinks, decor, music that makes you happy. Don’t worry about doing things just to make your guests happy. If you are happy they will be happy!”

Photography
Well, when it comes to wedding photography I obviously went to one of the bestest coolest gingers in the game. Me!
I think when it comes to suppliers, you want someone who can deliver what you want, but mainly that you get on with. You want to be able to discuss your plans and for them to love them and be able to meet your expectations.
When it comes to photos on your wedding day, just chill out, we got this. If you’ve hired a photographer with plenty of experience theres nothing to worry about. You’ve obviously liked their pictures and they will know what they are doing, so don’t worry about sending them a list of “shots” that you want them to get, just let them do their thing, thats the reason you hired them any way!
Again make sure you are hiring someone you can get on with and can get in touch with any time if you have burning questions or ideas. I’m regularly replying to emails and texts from couples at 11pm (you know who you are) discussing their wedding which is still months away!
Videography
I worked with two great videographers recently, both of them were great guys, and really knew their art so I asked both of them for advice. They’re both from different coasts too so you are pretty much well covered for video up North!
  Northwest Wedding Videos & Films – www.northwestweddingvideos.co.uk
Ben: “I think my number 1 tip is to just have fun! hang out with your soulmate and family/friends. If you guys are enjoying it, everyone on will be! & it will shine through in your wedding video.”
“Check out a suppliers facebook page! for me, all my latest work gets posted up there. My style is very unobtrusive and am all about capturing thoughts little natural moments. Most of my couples comment on how they hardly noticed me at the wedding, I’m like a ginger ninja.”
We Were Here – www.wewerehereuk.com
“Relax and trust your Photographer/Videographer. Allow us to work creatively, we will insure you get the best images possible.
There’s lot of Wedding Videographers to choose from now so find a style you like first of all, but also choose someone that won’t intrude on your day. Being able to work discreetly is a big thing for me.
My style of shooting is documentary style; I aim to capture things naturally. I don’t like to set things up or do anything that will take you away from enjoying your day. I believe the best moments are caught as they happen rather than if they’re staged and if i’m doing my job right you shouldn’t really know I’m there.
That way you both can get on with enjoying your day and not have to worry too much about myself with the camera. Remember its your wedding day, not a video/photo shoot!”
Suit Up!
I see many dapper lads at weddings, and Bakers Tailoring is a name I hear on the regular (we even did a photoshoot together where my picture of one of their suits was the Magazines FRONT COVER).
They certainly know their craft, and when it comes to style they won’t fail to make you looks dressed to impress.
Paul – “Grooms need to listen to opinion of the bride, often the suit choice isn’t just about bridesmaid colour, but the whole wedding theme which generally grooms no nothing about.
Experience is important when it comes to suits, some one with the knowledge to fit you correctly, in todays market its often not about what you Measure but how the client likes a garment to fit”
The Dresses
I reached out to the wonderful Bex of Bex Brides for some advice on choosing the right suppliers and enjoying your day. I know I’ve had numerous brides from Bex who have all felt and looked amazing in their dresses from Bex.
Bex Brides – www.bexbrides.co.uk
Bex: “Decide what are the most important things to you for your wedding, stick to it. Do not be pressed by others to either compromise or add elements that are not important to you. Have a day surrounded by those who you love and who love you! Most of a don’t sweat the small stuff. Just enjoy every moment from engagement to the last dance!
Find a supplier that “gets you ” there is a perfect supplier for every aspect of your wedding wether you have a modest budget or a massive one. Use social media to reach out and get recommendations.”
Made up with your Make up
The awesome Anna Cordelia Mason wrote this perfect tip for brides to be:
“Look after your skin in the build up to your wedding, taking time to relax, remembering that too much stress will show through in your skin Leave at least a week between a facial and your wedding day, giving your skin time to settle Invest some time in your brows by either committing to grow them out if there over plucked and having then professionally shaped.
This really can redefine your face! . For touch ups, ask an attendant to keep a small mirror, lipstick and blotting paper in their purse. Blotting paper will absorb excess oil that causes shine and is a better alternative to reapplying more powder as over the day this can become cakey.
Waterproof mascara… of course! And if you do shed a tear remember to ‘dab’ with a tissue don’t wipe!”
She also gave this advice for when looking for a make up artist:
“I’m a makeup artist but really my business is all about customer service, with a real emphasis on the customer. Communication and reliability and the confidence my customers gain from this are invaluable. For a bride that is not confident with makeup but knows she wants to look her most polished and radiant having their makeup professionally applied will be invaluable. Even if she is more than makeup savvy, bridal makeup has to fill a vast criteria such as longevity, photogenic and being lighting friendly.
There’s a such a fine balance between looking fantastic in both photographs and real life. A bride will pick up lots of tips and tricks about products, while learning about colours and dispelling any makeup myths!
Finally, nerves! Even as a makeup artist I chose to have a trusted colleague perform my own wedding day makeup, emotions are running high and hands are shaking! A good makeup artist will bring a sense of calm to the preparations.
Check out her work here! www.cordeliaandco.com
    Hair Do
I recently met the girls from Mirror Mirror when we done a Styled Photo Shoot at Crook Hall and Gardens in Durham. They were amazing! You’ll be able to see some of the pictures in a blog post soon!
Mirror Mirror Durham – Mirror Mirror
Lauren: “Take a moment to stop for a minute during your day….have a good look around and enjoy that very moment that all your hard work and planning has paid off and everyone is there for you to celebrate your special day.
We are a small and very friendly hair service with very experienced stylists that will go up and beyond on your wedding morning to make you look amazing and feel at total ease.”
Travel in Style
Campbell Wedding Cars –
“My main advice to couples looking for transport is never book from a photograph. You really need to see the car in person so you don’t get any nasty surprises on your big day. Also try not to be focused to much on price. Sometimes for the sake of £50 you could have had a car in better condition with a more professional service.
Check there isn’t any restrictions on time. You don’t want to be rushed with your photos because your car wants to leave.”
Eat Me
I can personally vouch for Baba Ganoush that their food is delicious, because they kept bringing me little Canapes over recently and went right up in my good books!
Baba Ganoush Catering Ltd. – www.babaganoushdining.com
Ashley – “Planning your big day is so exciting but can also become quite consuming! Make time for each other during the planning process. Have a date night and a wedding planning night… Wedding Wednesdays!
Weddings are extremely personal and it is so important that we as a caterer earn your trust. We like to build a connection with our client tonensure that trust becomes one of the main factor in the wedding planning process. We are here to make your day as special and stress free as possible.”
Daytime Music
My main man and fellow ginger, who played songs at my request and entertained for an entire day gave this lovely piece of advice for couples, both about their wedding day and about looking for a good musician!”
Gareth Beddard – Gareth Beddard and Co.
“Relax and enjoy every moment of the day as it will fly past! Take it all in your stride!
You should look for experienced musicians who have good etiquette. Think about the ambience for your day, live music whether background or foreground creates a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for your guests. Budget well for your live music, use professionals and make it a night to remember for all!”
  The Band
Last Anthem are an amazing band to see in person, whether thats at a wedding, or at one of their many gigs, you won’t fail to be amazed. Especially if they are getting the bride up on the chair dancing whilst playing their guitars on top of tables all over the room.
If you’re looking for a band Last Anthem say the main thing you want to be looking for when booking is a professional service, a great attitude, lots of experience and a willingness to advise and go the extra mile. Makes sense right!?
These guys have played loads of weddings and say this about having a stress free day:
“Remember it’s 100% YOUR day, so do things the way YOU want to do them! Don’t open a can of worms by bowing down to other peoples requests (prime examples include guests wanting to bring children, mothers and fathers wanting you to invite family members you never see and probably won’t see again…) do things exactly the way you want them and indulge yourself. The people around you need to remember it’s your day and all about you, so they should all be prepared to sacrifice a little if needs be!”
Check them out here: www.lastanthem.co.uk
  That’s Entertainment
If you’re looking to keep guests busy and entertained on an evening, Vegas Casino Hire offer some awesome options like their Roulette Tables
Vegas Casino Hire – www.vegascasinohire.co.uk
Gary – “Don’t stress about who to invite during the day. Lets be honest people just want the evening entertainment. Plus evening guests are cheaper!
Reviews. In life you get what you pay for. There is always people who can offer services cheaper. Look at the pictures. Look at how often they are working. If they are good they are always busy. Sometimes it’s worth paying a bit more”
That’s Magic!
I’ve seen Andy Larmouth in action a few times, and he blows me away each time. (Within the first minute of meeting him he pulled the card I was thinking of out of a pack).
He has given an amazing piece of advice for couples to be happy on their wedding day.
“Aside from making sure their guests have the best possible entertainment through the day 😉 I would say something that brides and grooms often forget is to take a moment once or twice thought the day to step back and take it in. All too often there is so much to do and so many people to speak to that they blink and the day is over. So my advice would be to take a few moments every now and then and just hold each other and look around at your friends and loved ones smiling and having fun and really try to be present in that moment.”
Andy also has some imperative advice for when people are looking to book a magician and finding the right one for them.
“Brides and grooms should be looking for a personal service. Meet and chat to make sure that they are a good fit together. And of course that they are professional, have good reviews or even better, personal recommendations, and that things like deposits are taken, contracts are used and public liability is in place. I would like to think when people book me, they are not booking ‘A magician’ but booking Andy Larmouth”

Well, I didn’t think you could last all day without seeing me.
Oh, yeah? What about all week, Robert?
Katie’s all about DJs and table decorations but Andy’s focused on Daz’s court order for the coming week. Robert shows up at the farm with Daz in tow having looked after him for a bit (aka subcontracted him off to Jarvis). Left on their own, KATIE initiates a kiss with Robert.

Looks like Andy and Daz come as a package now. (2 of 2)
Yeah! Tell me about it.
All the farm scenes. Robert has driven Katie back to the farm and she suggests he stick around for a bit at least since she’s still at odds with Andy over Daz. Things go haywire when Daz crashes Robert’s car (who left the keys in the ignition) into bales of hay but comes out of it okay. Robert’s ready to call the police but Andy doesn’t want that, he’s only 12 (deja vu with Liv here) but ‘he’s a pain in the backside’ and ‘can’t be trusted’ according to Katie. There’s a look between Robert and Katie…

Oh, look. Another farm boy come to have a go. (Part 2.2)
Jack and Andy continue to look for Daz including the garage but since it looks closed up, they move on. While Katie and Robert continue with the snogging, moving into a car, Daz, a Hopwood through and through, sets the garage on fire (wow, it got dark fast, too). Andy (with Jack) has words with Scott in the cafe. When Daz hears noises inside the garage and checks things out, he sees through a window a half dressed Katie and Robert looking right back at him…
