My Zoom interview for tomorrow turned into ‘come in for a lab tour and meet the team’ so this looks very, very promising that I might have a job in a chemical oceanography lab tomorrow! Is this adulting? Either way, I’m so excited.

ooof it's been hours of messing with R but I'm happy to announce that I have produced one (1) graph of my porewater data with pretty colours. gonna try to get my oxygen time series done before I go to bed and we'll call it good.

my 15-person class: we're staying online for the semester, we don't want to take any risks and we want you all feel safe :)

my 1000-person first year physics class: we're not recording or posting lectures, if you want to learn you need to come to class.

the absolute clown energy with which I confidently told my supervisor I could have my intro, methods, and results done and sent to him tonight six hours ago

I definitely did not pull my first every all-nighter last night finishing my poster and making last-minute adjustments before sending it off to get printed (which it has been, thank goodness), but I'm so happy with how it turned out. it's the first thing I've put forward for my thesis that I'm in any way shape or form proud of and it looks so good.

you know what would've been nice? if at any point anybody having anything to do with the honours course had told us that poster printing for a mandatory conference was going to be like $60 so we could've, idk, factored it into our budgets for the semester instead of being hit with a surprise expense at the end of term.

lil organizing sesh on campus yesterday before lab. being back on campus and being able to walk again is bringing me so much joy!

I put in one (1) lightly-cited slide about heavy metals because I needed to fill some time in my presentation and was hoping nobody would ask me to elaborate, so naturally 5/6 of my panel did. I’m sitting here on this Saturday morning drinking coffee and eating freshly baked muffins trying to find any applicable literature on this very esoteric subject so I can reply. I’d rather be working on my term paper tbh.
