Little guy is named Spooky and he’s what’s called a Katragoon, which is a little adopt species I found on Deviantart ^^ I’m sure there are some of the community here, but really I just am really happy with how he turned out in general and I wanted to share ^^ Hope you all enjoy him!

Some people have told me that CS is dying, but I wonder if it’s dying in the way they mean. 

Obviously there are some that are legit dying, like Chams (I never would have guessed they’d go out this way). The rest? I think what we’re seeing is the actual, representative size of a CS group.

Just a few years ago, CS had a shiny enough look that it attracted lots of people. But time has gone on, the shiny surface has been tarnished, and those that remain are people who are, for whatever reason, “devoted” to this particular niche hobby.

That means it’s unlikely that CS is dying for real minus certain groups. But it is contracting due to expenses, drama, no or shit events, and just general lack of interest.

The tl;dr of the next few paragraphs is just what I think is the future of some popular or semi-popular species.

I think Chams are out unless Seel and the staff come out with something big. Like a free semi-limited (instead of extremely limited) MYO, a big event with lots of prizes, a Lorekeeper than does more than let you click a button to forage, etc. That’s a lot of money and goodwill they just spent; they need to plunk coins back into the piggy bank.

Scarfox is what happens if Chams doesn’t straighten up. Scarfox is so irrelevant I almost forgot to add them to the list. Shit, Impims, too, although I think they’re doing semi-OK. Been awhile since I was too interested in Impims.

Grems, Esks, and Celestial Seas are kind of the “old guard” and so while there’s unlikely to be much in the way of new blood, they’ll go on until Densy/Corrin/Kaiju decide they’ve milked this cow enough. Chowlings, despite not being “old guard” have a similar audience so that’ll go on, too.

Dainties is a weird one. It’s so generic that I think it will wheeze along for a long time. Plus, there’s a lot of 18+ available there. Same idea for Succubuns, though the owners seem VERY determined to shove a stick of dynamite up their cash cow’s ass.

Skire will go on for a lot longer unless Kid fucks up worse than he normally does. The group has gigantic flaws apparent to anyone who doesn’t have their head up his ass, but the group is OK compared to all the others. If Kid wasn’t such an uptight loser, Skire could actually grow into something tremendous. I mean like an actual product line or game or something. But then bye-bye CS-level cash, so oh well.

I see Symprites going on for a good while longer because the staff seems to really be trying to keep it light and fun.

Then you have a number of smaller species such as Katragoons, Foolings, Leechmonsters, etc that have a small, dedicated audience that’s more concerned with the artsy side of things, so while they’re unlikely to grow much, I think they have more staying power in the long run compared to more glamorous species.

I wrote all this because I’m supposed to be working and I’m a lazy fuck this particular Friday.

Obviously there are some real cow pies because nobody can produce just bangers, but in general you just roll your eyes at those instead of double-take like with Scarfox and Chams. The one I'm sending you is just a spiky mess with black body parts sticking out of it. Like...woah. What happened?!

My beginner and absolute favorite CS species is Katragoons! ARPG to develop your kats, cute and easy to draw, very easy to get MYOs and constant sales and events! Plus it's very welcoming to new users!

Emergency Sale!

So, because of the shortened month, I am gonna be very low on funds for bills and food. I am selling some adopts I got a while ago through some groups on Deviant Art (two from the Katragoon adoptables and one from the Purrcerin closed species).
