PHOTOSHOOT: MARINA FOR INTERVIEW

Welcome to a retrospective journey to March 2015, a moment in time whenMarina Diamandis graced the lens of acclaimed photographer Hao Zeng for Interview Magazine.

Amidst this collaborative masterpiece, Marina's elegance and allure were impeccably curated by the skilled hand of stylist Alpha Vomero, while makeup virtuoso Stefanie Willmann and hair artist Kat Zemtsova worked their magic.

In the opening act of this enchanting photoshoot, Marina Diamandis steps into the spotlight adorned in the Marissa Webb Spring/Summer 2015 double-layered shirt gown. This exquisite creation comprises two long shirts, one in pristine white and the other in elegant black, thoughtfully layered atop one another.

She artfully accessorized with a KaufmanFranco white leather belt, cleverly styled as a chic choker. The collection of this piece may remain shrouded in mystery, but it was generously provided by Albright Fashion Library, who provided most of the wardrobe choices that adorned Marina throughout this editorial.

As the editorial unfolds, Marina effortlessly transitions into her second look, showcasing her impeccable fashion sensibility. In this striking ensemble, M exudes sophistication and style, courtesy of Albright Fashion Library.

At the heart of her look, Marina dons a luxurious Givenchy blazer crafted from red grain de poudre wool. This impeccable piece, with a price tag of $2,425.00, envelops her in a sense of timeless elegance.

Complementing the bold hue of her blazer, Marina adorns a pair of red Juan Carlos Obando Spring/Summer 2015 runway tie-waist silk wide-leg trousers. These trousers, reminiscent of the designer's acclaimed blue variation from the same collection, lend a touch of runway glamour to her look.

To add a personal touch, Marina completes her ensemble with a black bandeau top that is uniquely her own.

Completing the ensemble, Marina steps into black leather platform pointed-toe pumps with chunky heels from Vera Wang's Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

I have the privilege to be able to write this caption with the full knowledge of Midnights on my mind and the awareness that this look is likely a taster of a rich, luxe, almost showgirl glam style. A new, womanly version of the retro and vintage fashion she has favoured for more than a decade - but elevated. And with a fun, vampy sex appeal.

I'm of the opinion this is not a reference to her 2009 dress from this same event - it's distinctly different in silhouette and composition. Perhaps if I were looking at an asymmetrical one-shoulder gown with diagonal swathes of glitter - I could see the comparison. But this feels far removed from that Kaufmanfranco of 13 years prior.

While this dripping diamond mini has a lot of vintage feels (I love the halter neck), it doesn't feel right to draw comparison to vintage Taylor fashion. This is a sartorial step in a fresh, new direction to reflect a new body of work and a new period in her life. Let's consider and treat it as such.
