E' una bella giornata in quel di Ragako, gli uccelli cantano e le galline coccodeggiano (?), mentre gli umani sono intenti nelle loro faccende quotidiane. A rovinare la giornata a tutti arriva un gas misterioso, e la voce fuori campo di Zeke ci spiega che l'avanscoperta di Marley aveva sperimentato questo metodo per immobilizzare chiunque avesse inalato quel gas, che si rivela essere fluido spinale di Zeke stesso. Poi lui con il suo solito urlo li aveva trasformati in giganti e li aveva diretti contro l'armata di ricognizione, nello scontro in cui Erwin poi ha perso la vita. Ad ascoltarlo è Levi, effettivamente non c'è altro da fare mentre aspettano che arrivino degli ordini dal quartier generale, tanto vale fare quattro chiacchiere davanti al fuoco come dei vecchi amici. Comunque bellissimo lo scambio tra i due, dove Levi gli dice che non ha un briciolo di senso di colpa e Zeke che gli risponde che pensando di conoscere le emozioni di tutti non sarà stato molto popolare ma quello gli risponde che in realtà lo è. Ahahahah, cos'è questo, un riferimento a tutti i fan di Levi? Chiedo perchè ci sono anch'io tra quei fan. Ma andiamo alle cose serie, perchè il quartier generale perde ancora tempo per cominciare gli esperimenti tra Zeke ed Eren? Nemmeno Levi lo sa, ma ad interrompere la conversazione arriva la notizia che il comandante Zachary è stato ucciso in un attentato degli Jaegeristi, Eren è evaso, bla bla spiegone, riassunto delle puntate precedenti.

Andiamo dalla Braus Family, che lo scorso episodio abbiamo lasciato sulla soglia del ristorante di Nicolò con Kaya che consiglia a Gabi e Falco di parlare col proprietario/chef dato che è marleyano e potrebbe aiutarli a tornare a casa. Nicolò nel frattempo, poveretto pensava di aver invitato 3 o 4 persone e se ne vede arrivare 8, quando si tratta di mangiare i Braus non si tirano indietro. Kaya spiega a Gabi e Falco che è lui il marleyano di cui gli aveva parlato, e dice inoltre che ha invitato la famiglia Braus come riconoscimento per Sasha, la ragazza che aveva salvato Kaya tempo addietro e che amava il cibo di Nicolò, ma che di recente è stata uccisa. Fossi in Gabi sentirei parecchio disagio ma in effetti non sapendo chi sia questa Sasha le importa poco.

Intanto sono arrivati al ristorante anche Hange e gli altri, ed insieme ad Onyankopon dicono a Nicolò che stanno conducendo un'indagine sui marleyani di Paradis. Nicolò gli dice di aspettare in una stanza separata e toglie dalle mani di Jean una bottiglia di vino anche in modo abbastanza maleducato, tirando fuori la solita solfa degli eldiani che non si meritano un vino così buono e bla bla. Inutile dire che Jean e Connie restano interdetti davanti a questa reazione, era solo vino alla fin fine, no? No??

Gabi e Falco vedono Nicolò che sta andando a riporre la bottiglia che aveva in mano e fingendo un malore lo seguono. Così lo raggiungono e gli raccontano tutto, che sono guerrieri cadetti di Marley, che si sono infiltrati a Paradis, che ritengono che presto Marley scaglierà un'offensiva su Paradis, ma sopratutto Gabi gli dice tutta fiera di aver ucciso una soldatessa dopo essere salita sul velivolo che stava tornando sull'isola. Qui ho letteralmente visto il cervello di Nicolò fare scintille, perchè appena capisce il discorso afferra una bottiglia per spaccarla sulla testa di Gabi ma al solito Falco per salvarla si becca la bottigliata in piena testa e gli finisce qualche goccia di vino in gola. Perfetto. L'alcool è ottimo contro il dolore no? no??

Nicolò con Falco sotto braccio ancora svenuto trascina Gabi davanti alla famiglia Braus, e dice loro tutto, che questi due sono marleyani e che questa qui ha ucciso Sasha. Accecato dall'odio e dal dolore porge al signor Braus un coltellaccio e gli dice che se non uccide lui questa miserabile lo farà lui. Armin spunta da dietro la porta come se fosse sempre stato lì e vedendo la situazione chiama gli altri, che riconoscono subito l'assassina di Sasha, che sapevano essere evasa. Comincio a pensare seriamente che dovrebbero controllare di più quelli che gettano in prigione, prima questi due, ora Eren e i suoi compari, ma un pò di fiato sul collo a quelli che imprigionate no? E comincia la giratina di frittata tra Nicolò e Gabi, che tu hai ucciso Sasha, si ma Sasha aveva ucciso gente a cui volevo bene, vabbe avete tutti ragione, ottima giustificazione per continuare ad uccidere e non uscire più da questa situazione del cacchio. Fortunatamente il signor Braus ha un pò di sale in zucca e si fa dare il coltello di Nicolò dicendo, in breve, che sì, è vero, ha mandato Sasha nell'esercito e nel mondo più vasto, ma si è reso conto che è meglio non laciar vagare i bambini nella foresta del mondo, e che i peccati degli adulti non devono ricadere sui figli. Quanta saggezza. Gabi nel frattempo è allibita perchè si è vista difesa dalla famiglia (Kaya esclusa che voleva farla a fettine, ma come possiamo darle torto) e dai compagni della ragazza che lei stessa ha ucciso. Già che non sia saltata su a strillare che è tutto un trucco dei demoni eldiani è un miglioramento. Ma questo scivola nel dimenticatoio, perchè Nicolò dice ad Hange di sciacquare la bocca di Falco visto che c'è andata qualche goccia di vino, vino in cui è stato messo il fluido spinale di Zeke. EH??!

Torniamo da mister popolare, Levi, che viene ragguagliato su tutta la situazione, che si sospetta sia tutto un piano di Zeke che ha coinvolto Yelena ed Eren e che ha come scopo di fare incontrare i due fratelli visto che è quello che gli Jaegeristi chiedono a gran voce. In tutto questo Pyxis vuole trattare con gli Jaegeristi per trarli in inganno e far divorare Eren, dato che non è più controllabile. E tutto cade addosso a Levi, che per 3 stagioni non ha fatto altro che salvare quel piantagrane da tutto e tutti, rimettendoci pure compagni, pensando che fosse la speranza dell'umanità, ed ora lo devono neutralizzare perchè sta combinando casini che sono uno più grosso dell'altro. Bello schifo.

Intanto al ristorante la situazione è rientrata, e Nicolò sta spiegando la situazione mentre Hange e Connie provano a fare la lavanda gastrica a Falco. Praticamente già la prima nave della flotta di ricognizione erano piena di scorte di questo vino, e quando Nicolò ha aperto il ristorante Yelena in persona gli ha raccomandato di servirlo agli ufficiali di grado superiore dell'esercito. Solo lei è a conoscenza di questo piano, gli altri volontari non ne sapevano niente, Nicolò stesso ripete che non è sicuro al 100% della storia del fluido spinale. Ma la cosa non ha senso, perchè Zeke ha detto che bevendo il suo fluido spinale gli eldiani si immobilizzano, com'è possibile che gli ufficiali abbiano bevuto questo vino senza effetti? E' tutta una fesseria? Cosa succede realmente se bevi il fluido spinale di Zeke? Ma a prescindere dagli effetti, la cosa resta grave, perchè ormai l'avranno bevuto tutti, e non sanno neanche che girano con questa minaccia in corpo. Ma perchè comunque fare tutto sto giro complicato col vino e gli ufficiali? Nicolò racconta di come in passato abbiano conquistato una capitale straniera in una sola notte, facendo comparire dal nulla centinaia di giganti. Forse intendono fare di nuovo così, riciclano l'idea, che se è risultata vincente una volta perchè non riutilizzarla.

In un'altra stanza Armin e Mikasa tengono d'occhio Gabi, che chiede loro perchè non vogliono ucciderla visto che lei ha ucciso Sasha. Ed Armin le da uno schiaffo morale dicendo che tutto quello che pensa è uccidere questo o uccidere quello; gli ricorda qualcuno, un qualcuno che è appena entrato dalla porta come se fosse la cosa più naturale del mondo, Eren, che presenta la mano ferita come a dire che è meglio che stiano calmi perchè altrimenti si trasforma qui e ora. C'ha un solo piano Eren, "zitti e buoni o mi trasformo". Floch intanto ha preso in ostaggio tutti quelli che c'erano nell'altra stanza, compresa Hange che era passata alle maniere forti e stava direttamente affogando Falco nella vasca. Agli Jaegeristi delle trattative di Pyxis non frega niente, anche perchè Eren ha un pò capito che servono ad ingannarli, e Floch vuole che Hange li conduca da Zeke e basta, o ammazzano tutti e tanti saluti. Il problema per ora non è questo, perchè c'è sta storia del vino col fluido spinale di Zeke, l'ha bevuto tipo tutto l'esercito..!! Floch risponde con "Oh noooooo...Anyway" facendo capire che sapeva tutto. Nell'altra stanza Eren, che non si cura minimamente della propria emorragia che sta sporcando tutta la tovaglia, bypassa totalmente la presenza di Gabi e dice ad Armin e Mikasa che voleva parlare con loro.

Ed appuntamento alla prossima puntata, come al solito seguire queste azioni così cadenzate toglie un po' di hype ma è qualcosa di inesistente se paragonato alla storia che si svolge davanti a noi. Finalmente abbiamo capito questa storia del vino, e se pensiamo a tutti quelli che l'hanno bevuto in queste puntate il trauma arriva potente. Ancora una volta il mio applauso allo studio d'animazione, che disegna le emozioni sul volto delle persone come se fosse la cosa più naturale del mondo, e fa capire in un attimo la rabbia, il dolore, lo stupore, la rassegnazione, l'annichilimento totale di una situazione in cui non ci sono nè vincitori nè vinti ma solo morti e cattiveria, da una parte e dall'altra. Dunque alla prossima puntata, e al trauma che ne verrà fuori! -sand-

The short version? He’s mostly Native American, from two different tribes, with some Italian blood, and whatever the hell else his no-good Granddaddy was.

PERSONALITY: Chaotic Everything. Her sense of humor is primarily just messing with people - she enjoys watching them be confused the nonsense she spins. She can also be very impulsive, jumping into situations without thinking then wondering how she gets into these messes.

BIO: Numerous counts of petty theft, assault, possession, indecent exposure, spiking drinks at a police officer’s ball with laxatives (although that was never proven). These are only the things she was arrested for - after leaving school she in fact spent a few years as a pickpocket and thief for the towns totally legitimate businessman Stan Greif. An unhappy relationship with her father meant she left home as soon as she was able to make her own way in the world. In school she joined up with Stan's daughter, Angela, and with a couple of others formed a band called The Killer Aqua Bunnies. However, in wanting to be part of a group, Kaya turned her back on her older childhood friend Jennifer. Lately Kaya has been making an effort to clean up her ways, but without much success.

Jennifer Airhart and Kaya Cade infiltrate Stag Corp but are found by a scientist Kaya massively underestimates; Doctor Jana Sarkis.

It attempted to pounce on the metal beast, only to be pushed back again by a pulse from the cylinder, a wave catching and flinging the creature through the wall of the school.

Jennifer Airhart rescues Kaya and Sayuri from a spriggan.

Sayuri broke from her meditation in order to flip her hand around and extend the middle finger.

Angela Greif trolls Sayuri Oshiro while Kaya Cade watches in disapproval.

Irongate: Chapter Five - Killer Aqua Bunnies

Young Kaya Cade and Jennifer Airhart on one of their last great adventures together. Kaya Cade returns years later wondering if it had been real, or just childish exaggeration.

(And yes, Kaya isn't a natural redhead. Sorry about that.)

Kaya Cade: "Listen fella - I’m doing you a favor here. You really want to spend all that money on something he’s just going to pluck at for a few days then give up when he doesn’t already sound like Hendrix?"

Boy: "Who's Hendrix?"

Kaya, trying to get her life on the straight and narrow, took a job selling instruments in the store B-Naturals.

This was the incident she was fired and arrested for.
