Introducing Sombraj's local chaotic trio: The Artemas Siblings

Twisted from the three frog hunters from Princess and The Frog. More info under the cut! [dorm belongs to @permanentlyexhaustedowl pls check it out!!]

Bio:

Calm and reserved, Keaton is the more relaxed and responsible of the Artemas Siblings and is a man of few words, usually replying with nods and shakes of his head unless the conversation requested otherwise. He comes off as stone-cold, and intimidating; as he's rumored to be the most brooding of the three, and with a seemingly unbreakable tough-guy exterior. It's quite difficult to get to know what he's really like by the first few impressions.

Once you become acquainted with him, or if you'd spend more time at the Sombraj dorm, Keaton appears to seem more lighthearted and aloof than before, and acts as some sort of impulse control for some of his dorm-mates, as he's one of the most level-headed. His curiosity for some things and his aloof nature being somewhat endearing. Most of the things he does for the dorm and others are often genuine, selfless and are in good faith. A very solid big brother figure :,)

Unique Magic: Anura-Armament

Only works with some sort of frog or slimy substance, Keaton is able to weaponize it into a throwing knife he can use. Hardening and transforming said slimy substance into a razor sharp blade, and the after effect said throwing knife has depends on the substance used to create it.

For example, he uses a poisonous frog's secretion to create the knife, thus it can have a variety of effects to the person he throws it at depending on what kind of frog it was, although never fatal, the worst effect it can have on you is to paralyze you temporarily.

Other uses for said UM is to make into a web-like trapping net, both for the frogs and his dormmates :))

Setbacks: it's kinda gross............also he has to manually get said frog secretions so that'd be awkward..he cant turn liquids into weapons either.

Bio:

In contrast to her older brother, Brielle is a force to be reckoned with, a little gremlin. She is ruthless, commanding, and is easily irritable, which causes her to cause chaos on impulse and fight with anyone she sees. A permanent scowl on her face, she never fails to intimidate (or amuse) anyone she comes across outside the dorm. But despite her short and small stature, most of the people in her dorm never seem to take her seriously to ever see her as a proper threat. She wants to take charge, but nobody ever really lets her. Much to her anger and dismay..

They usually see her as this small angry little chihuahua that's all bark and no bite...some of the time at least.

Has this sort of tough love towards her brothers and to those she cares about, as she likes to refer to them sometimes as 'idiot brothers', but really, she does care about them, she's just too cautious of going soft and letting her guard down in case something happens. But when you're nothing but a stranger to her it will be difficult to get in friendly terms with her.

Unique Magic: To be discovered

She hasn't developed her Unique Magic just yet, to her dismay. She hates that her two brothers have a UM and she doesn't, hell she envies them a lot.. but that only really makes her even more determined to figure out what it could be!!

Bio:

The most soothing and welcoming of the sibling trio. Holton likes to solve things with peace and love, not violence! Unless you're a frog :)) Although because of his aloof nature and his seemingly never fully awake demeanor, he does cause chaos unintentionally and often gets the trio into crazy situations in or out of the dorm. And then he apologizes profusely after.....then accidentally does it again.

Constantly yawning, this boy is always sleepy and drowsy looking no matter what and because of that is often unfazed by the weird things that sometimes happen in the dorm. He can also be a little slow when it comes to processing things, but is actually kinda the most intelligent from the three. He's like a big, sleepy bear that gives free hugs and will bonk you gently in the head with his wooden club.

Unique Magic: Anura-Congeal

Can harden his skin and bones, making him indestructible and unfazed to blunt force attacks or fall damage, however not at will, as it only really works when he feels threatened or when he's being attacked.

Setback: can only apply this UM to certain parts of his body, also cannot apply this UM to other people as the process is kind of painful, although he's built a tolerance to it.

Family lore:

They came from a long line of frog hunters, hunting and eating frog was only part of their tradition and family customs. The three were already taught how to catch frogs and make traps by the age of 4

Their family used to live in the Land of Pyroxene, for their business as it is a very populated and rich country, although things took a rather dark turn when their mother died of a terminal illness she told no one about, and so they moved to the Port of Jubilee when Holton was just turning 8, because their father wanted to start a new life and forget, moving with their father's sister and her five very noisy (annoying) children, all ages 2-6

This often led Keaton to act more mature and would usually take care of both his siblings and his cousins as his father would always go out and drink meanwhile his aunt was overworking herself trying to make money to feed everyone else. Hence why he feels a need to look after a lot of his dormmates.

Keaton also lost three of his fingers to an alligator accident, and has quite the fear of them since then.

Holton and Keaton managed to manifest their UM's when they were just in their early teens. Brielle meanwhile hasn't discovered her UM yet and greatly envies her brothers because of this, lying to other people that she does have a UM in fear of getting ridiculed or bullied because of it.

The three were sent to NRC by their aunt, who figured that the education there would be best for them and that she can handle her own 5 children without Keaton's (or sometimes Brielle's) assistance. Their aunt would also send their cousins to NRC soon once they were of age. But more on that soon.

no one is allowed to remove his hat, do it and you die he will personally kill you himself

has sliiight heterochromia (his uncovered eye is just a lighter shade of brown)

Flashback 😳

YEAH...</3 did one for the Artemas siblings, under the cut! slight angst!

"He's trying to fight his sleep attack again.."

Brielle pointed to their youngest brother Holton, who sat and stared outside through the window. His expression sleepy yet hopeful, Keaton sighed at this.

"I don't understand why he's doing this every day, how he still thinks our dad isn't some drunkard piece of trash is beyond me." His sister couldn't help but comment, although harsh, there was some truth to it. But Holton is just a child, he can't just tell him that there was no father for him to wait for, it would break his heart.

But the sun is starting to set, and he could notice Holton's head wobbling a little as if forcing himself to stay awake, although he looked slightly pained.

He frowned. "You go 'head and help auntie with dinner, I have to get him to sleep."

Brielle was quick to leave to the kitchen. Keaton meanwhile walked over to his younger brother to put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Hey bud." He spoke softly, Holton could barely turn his head to look at him as his eyes started to droop. "Let's get you to bed yeah?"  "Hhh...I don't wanna..." His words were barely comprehensible as he struggled to stay awake. "You can't be awake like this buddy, cmon, it'll be a nice 30 minutes nap. That's all." He stubbornly shook his head before he turned back to the window. Keaton frowned. "He's...never here when I'm awake...I want..to greet him once he comes home.." Holton barely replied. "I know bud, but you have to sleep, papa will be home by night so I'll wake you up when he gets here okay?"

Slowly he turns, "You promise?"

Keaton could only nod. Holton complies as he lets his older brother pick him up, taking one last glance at the open window dejectedly. Keaton notices this, but still carries him to the room regardless.

Trust me Holton...it'd be better if papa doesn't see you at all.
