A few people were asking about sweet Moff from my postcard print this month, so I thought I would #confirm this Smol Fren design is indeed based on mothman! :D
Tumblr media
Moffs are flighty bird-like frens. They are wonderful conversationalists, but they can be surprised very easily ... their instinct is to fly away very quickly when they are surprised, as we saw waaaay back in strip 15! (They do always know what time it is though, haha.)
There are a few more cryptid-like frens hiding here too ... Keck (the little UFO who delivers the weather) is based on the Kecksburg incident ... and little Klickr is inspired by the Flatwoods Monster!
Tumblr media
There's a fren that looks like the fresno nightcrawler in the gang too ... but we won't meet them this year ;D.
Thanks for your interest in the world of SMOL FRENS!! I really love making this strip; while the Target Age is a young audience, I'm glad that it's silly enough to brighten anyone's day.

Kecksburg UFO incident
On the evening of December 9, 1965, thousands of eyewitnesses reported seeing a strange light appearing over parts of the north-eastern United States and Canada. Citizens of Kecksburg, Pennsylvania saw it, too, but they also witnessed a lot of commotion coming from what looked to be a crash site. Local law enforcement was said to have been quickly ordered out of the area by government officials who crowded around an acorn-shaped spacecraft embedded into the ground. Reports of the crash being a meteor or some kind of space debris circulated, but UFO researchers have long insisted the incident was extra-terrestrial in origin. Others believe it was a spy satellite that the United States wanted to disavow. Neither NASA nor the Air Force has responded to civilian inquiries about what may or may not have landed in Kecksburg that night.

The Kecksburg UFO Incident wasn't caused by a downed spacecraft. It was a seed from the Makai Tree that had fallen long before Ail and An arrived on Earth.

Kecksburg UFO Incident
A fireball streaked across the Midwest U.S. sky on Dec. 9, 1965, before crashing in some Pennsylvania woods. Witness report seeing a car-sized object with Egyptian hieroglyphs on it. Witnesses further report that the Army was quick to swoop in and remove the object, while the Army denies ever having found anything.
Adding to the freakiness of the story, a local broadcaster made a report of his experiences in the Virginia woods that night. Two men in black suits approached the reporter the day before the story was to air and allegedly made him change the whole thing, not even mentioning the object. Syfy did an investigation of the situation in 2003 that led to tightening up of NASA's document security policy (mainly because NASA kept losing documents related to the investigation). (Source)

Note
On December 9, while living on the wave, David made a splash at a Christmas concert, developed by Elvis Presley. His immediate capture captured the world's rebellion. In two weeks, he was diagnosed with eight million people and became ill.
That is a pretty accurate description of my week. Except that on this anniversary of the Kecksburg UFO incident, I discovered how to harness the power of lightning from one of Al Seckel’s tomes on optical illusions. Despite being a fake, a certain passage described seeding the ground with static electricity using a relatively small explosive. By shaking the electrons loose from the clay, I summoned a lightning bolt that extended from Michigan through Ohio into southwestern Pennsylvania, lasting an incredible 8 seconds.
My goal is to create a permanent column of plasma in the post-industrial Midwest extending into the high atmosphere, and touch it with my dong.

'Flying saucer' filmed by surprised driver on Highway 46 in Florida
Tumblr media
The footage (see YouTube below) has sparked a controversy after UFO experts linked the bizarre sighting to the famous 1997 Phoenix Lights incident. But, while some UFO enthusiasts believe the footage could prove once-and-for-all the existence of extraterrestrial visitors to Earth, others believe it proves decades-old rumors that Pentagon is running a black project to reverse-engineer alien spacecraft technology recovered from several UFO crash sites across the country, including the alleged 1947 UFO crash site near a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico, and the alleged December 1965 UFO crash site near the village of Kecksburg in Pennsylvania.
However, skeptics have dismissed the sighting, saying that the triangular formation of lights shown in the footage could be reflections. The video, uploaded to YouTube on May 21, by YouTube UFO hunter FindingUFO, is going viral online, with UFO enthusiasts saying it could be the best evidence yet of the fleet of UFOs, believed to be triangle-shaped UFOs, that reportedly caused the 1997 Phoenix Lights incident. The unnamed witness was reportedly driving at night on Highway 46 in Florida, on May 7, when he filmed the amazing UFO.
youtube
"I don't know if this is being caught, but there is a f***ing flying saucer right there," the amazed and highly excited witness says as he films the mysterious flying object. "What the... it was moving and now it's hovering. I don't see it anymore, where the h*** did it go?" "I'm just minding my own business. Man... I hope I caught it," he continues. "I mean, I never expected to see it and it would be, you know, round like a flying saucer, but that was f***ing round like a flying saucer. Dude, I just saw a UFO?" The witness later told FindingUFO that he was driving on Route 46 when he saw weird-looking lights in the air on the left side of the road. "I was driving on route 46 (I said 426 in the video, as I read the GPS wrong), and saw some weird looking lights on the left side of the road," he told FindingUFO. "I thought it was just a plane with a weird light pattern," he continued. "Well, when it crossed the road, and got bigger, I got a little more curious." The witness soon realized that he was not seeing lights from an ordinary plane. "Then I saw it's lights flashing, and move across the road, and then hover on the right side. As you can see, after turning on the camera, it didn't last before it disappeared," he added. Although the man described the object he filmed as a disc-shaped UFO, or a flying saucer UFO, analysts who examined the video claimed that it appears to show a triangle UFO with lights arranged in a pattern that recalls the famous 1997 Phoenix Lights incident. "The road where this footage was captured is only 15 minutes away from my house," an excited enthusiast commented on YouTube. "To think that a potential UFO was only minutes away and possibly flew over or right by my house! This is Amazing!" The Inquisitr reports that an ongoing spate of sightings of black triangle UFOs across the country have sparked rumors that the Pentagon is presently at a late stage of a black project to develop a new generation of stealth reconnaissance crafts capable of flying silently, hovering in the air, and accelerating from rest at incredible rates. The Phoenix Lights incident, probably the most famous UFO mass sighting incident ever, occurred in March 1997. Thousands of witnesses in Phoenix, Arizona, and hundreds in Sonora, Mexico, reported sighting V-shaped or triangular formations of mysterious lights drifting across the skies on the night of Thursday, March 13, 1997.

Mysterious Spacecraft Joining Up With Newly Discovered “Mini Moon” In Orbit Around Earth Prompts Concerns
By: Sorcha Faal
An at first seemingly ordinary new Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin today detailing the discussions held on Friday between Chief of the General Staff General Valery Gerasimov and Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley becomes extraordinary upon one’s reading the section titled “As Mutually Agreed Upon”—a section that has listed two items, the first being the United States and Taliban signing deal aimed at ending war in Afghanistan, and the second being President Donald Trump agreeing to meet with President Putin as well as with the leaders of China, Britain and France to discuss the issue of arms control—and after listing these two mutually agreed upon items, then sees this report amazingly noting that these immediate measures were needed due to information contained in a Planetary Defense Coordination Office (PDCO) file—the appendix of which attached to this MoD report contains an urgent message received this past week from doctor-scientists at the Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics, who are presently racing to unravel the mystery of the 1908 Tunguska catastrophe, the world’s biggest explosion—a mystery now being joined by a mysterious spacecraft filmed by International Space Station scientists—that upon leaving the region of this space station, shot itself into outer space where its trajectory joined it with an equally mysterious “Mini Moon” discovered on 15 February to be in orbit around our Earth—and is, also, a mysterious spacecraft near identical to the one involved in the Kecksburg UFO Incident that occurred on 9 December 1965, at Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, United States in North America.
Earth’s new mini-moon – officially labeled 2020 CD3 – is the point source in the center of this 24 February 2020, image...the colored streaks are background stars.
According to this report, doctor-scientists from the Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics, the Novosibirsk Institute of Geology and Mineralogy and the Krasnoyarsk Biophysics Institute are presently in the Tunguska Nature Reserve racing to find the cosmic cause of the world’s largest explosion that occurred in this region on the morning of 30 June 1908— an atmospheric explosion which had the force of 185 Hiroshima bombs, wiping out 80 million trees and flattening more than 2,000 square kilometers (770 square miles), while causing no known casualties.
So concerning to Russian doctor-scientists about what caused the Tunguska Event, this report notes, in late 1965, Soviet doctor-scientists tasked a Venera Programme spacecraft to photograph from high Earth orbit this region while it was circling the planet to slingshot itself towards Venus—a spacecraft designated 3MV-4 No.6 (in the West known as Kosmos 96) which, at 03:21 UTC on 23 November 1965, was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard its Molniya carrier rocket.
On 9 December 1965, however, this report continues, Kosmos 96 was involved in what today remains the most mysterious and disputed event to have ever occurred in space—an event Soviet space engineers at the time documented as Kosmos 96 having suffered a catastrophic collision with an unknown object—that resulted in Kosmos 96 crashing to the ground in Canada at 3:18 AM on 9 December 1965—a crash followed about 13-hours later when a mysterious spacecraft entered the atmosphere at 4:45 PM and then landed itself in Kecksburg-Pennsylvania.
On 9 December 1965, Kosmos 96 collides with unknown spacecraft then crashes in Canada…
…about 13-hours later, mysterious spacecraft lands in Kecksburg-Pennsylvania.
In 1991, this report details, the US Space Command confirmed that Kosmos 96 crashed in Canada after it plunged crippled from space—but for reasons still unknown, NASA announced in December-2005 that Kosmos 96 was what had landed in Kecksburg-Pennsylvania—a beyond absurd lie that had experts and researchers going to US Federal Court demanding that NASA show the evidence to back up this claim—and by 2009, saw NASA telling the US Federal Court that all of their “evidence” had gone missing.
Dozens of witnesses in Kecksburg-Pennsylvania gave detailed sworn statements (one exampled above) that US Army removed downed spacecraft.
As to why NASA deliberately lied to conceal the truth about the spacecraft that landed in Kecksburg-Pennsylvania on 9 December 1965 after it collided and downed Kosmos 96, this report concludes, sees the evidence for their doing so being demonstrated in the new mysterious spacecraft that appeared next to the International Space Station and then shot its way towards the just discovered “Mini Moon” now in orbit around Earth—as this new mysterious spacecraft having an “acorn-beehive” shape is an identical match to the spacecraft recovered by the US Army in Kecksburg—both of which are, also, a near identical match to the most feared Nazi German invention ever discovered called the Die Glocke—most commonly known as the Nazi Bell said to have time traveling capabilities—and whose use of would explain the thousands of high-ranking Nazi leaders, including Adolph Hitler, who disappeared and have never been found—and if are returning to world today from wherever, or whenever they traveled to, would, most certainly, raise alarming concerns among ever nation in the world.
