My brain has been so absolutely kerfunkled lately but that will never stop me from slaying

I once ran a SBURBsim Session with some of the beta trolls--Aradia, Tavros, Karkat, Sollux, Kanaya, Vriska, Equius, and Eridan, IIRC--and one of the simulations was..... absolutely wack, IMO.

It was a Session wherein every single iteration of it would not succeed in creating a new Universe......

......unless Eridan died before ever entering the Session.

Thing is, that Session failed so spectacularly JR actually popped in (the in-game one, not the actual dev) and gave Aradia two Choices: either Scratch the Session (not that it'll help) or go back in time and do one of these things. The things were usually killing, and the target was usually, if not always Eridan. I think one of them was actually to chuck him into a kernelsprite? But that still Doomed the Session.

Ensuring he Godtiers still Doomed the Session.

Ensuring he dies during the final boss fight still Doomed the Session.

Ensuring he never Godtiers still Doomed the Session.

Perhaps he should live? Nope. Ensuring he survives at any point still Doomed the Session.

The only way the Session could actually come to fruition was for Aradia to kill Eridan before he ever entered the Session, thus just..... deleting him from the player pool entirely.

Another interesting thing I noted during those simulations is that whenever Eridan dies, he perma-dies instantly. Even without Aradia ensuring that happens, no one ever comes to smooch his corpse.

Uh, I don't know. I just thought that was interesting, and I may or may not be planning to turn that into a fic? I really don't know. I used to save the simulations that I found interesting somewhere, but I don't know if I saved this one? Lemme check real quick.

Hm, this is odd. I do have a session that's similar, but I could swear this isn't it, since it has Feferi and Nepeta in it. Either way you can look at this, I guess? Maybe if I kerfunkle shit up in SBURBsim I can get that session again.

But, it’s a helluva way to prompt the boys to target Crowley directly for the last trial and lead into the finale of season 8!

on my second episode of emerald city, and lemme say, i am 200% here for the aesthetic and worldbuilding. This perfectly offsets the fact that i am -100% here for the awkward writing and characters. The episodes just don’t make sense, narratively, they don’t have pacing, it’s all... kerfunkled.  Making any character played by vincent dinofrio poorly written is an accomplishment, so they should be proud of that i guess.
