Alright! We’ve got part 2… miniatures! I definitely got better at painting small scale kits like these as time went on, I’ve got a lot of love for Wargaming now that I’ve given miniatures a good try!

Two Khadoran armies engaging in Honorable Khadoran Melee Combat on the table next to me.
While that was happening I was playing Kraye in First Army vs Issyria in Legions of Dawn. Lost on scenario 1-4.

Session One of DnD: Iron Kingdoms Edition COMPLETE! And with no (player) deaths! Admittedly, this first session was intentionally set up to gauge how much more (or less) I needed to adjust combat. Considering we’re playing with....5 ranged DPS and a support caster, I knew it was going to be interesting. Player damage output is about what I expected, gotta tweak enemy health a little (or total numbers), while keeping hostile damage output in mind since the players are all kinda squishy. They do have a warjack (reward for mission complete), which will help soak damage and engage melee targets, but there’s only one of it and a lot of them, so I may give them another ‘tank’ to help as a buffer.
They all seemed to have a lot of fun with plenty of new spells and toys compared to standard 5e, and a few are getting invested in the setting so I’ll take that as a win. They are interested in doing a RP-oriented session next, so I’ll have to get some goodies prepped for that, but they’ll be handling the actual threat of the campaign shortly :D Which I’d love to gush about, but SOMEONE in the party is on here so I have to stay quiet (at least publically :P)

Day 9: Last Words
@febuwhump prompt Alt 7: Last Words
Fandom: Iron Kingdoms Characters: OC Rosa DiMerrion Set in the 'Fallen Llael' AU: Llael is occupied by Khador, but the tide is about to turn Word Count: ~440 Click here to read on AO3
Synopsis: Rosa makes sure her last words will be found.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I’m sorry. I have to make preparations… for my sister.”
Those were Alecain’s words, holding her close with his sword in her gut.
There was noise now. People shouting. She couldn’t make out the words though. Not clearly. Not like she’d heard Alecain’s words, a confession without remorse, whispered to someone who would take his guilt to the grave.
Because she was dying. She knew that. She was dying, and Alecain’s words would be the last she ever heard.
Footsteps, near her. A blur of red, Khadoran uniform knelt next to her. Hands pressing on her stomach and it was agonising and she was numb and-
She had some last words of her own. Already prepared. She had suspected that something might go wrong. That she would be stopped from delivering her message. She had contingency plans.
If she could just reach the vial.
Choking blood, she tried to sit. Found she couldn’t. That’s right, Alecain’s sword in her abdominals. That would be why. Instead she clawed for the leather satchel she carried, digging blood-slicked fingers down past scrolls and letters, grasping, seeking.
There. A small glass cylinder. Her fingers slipped against the smooth bottle as she tried to grasp it, but she had to have it. Had to bring it out. Had to make sure they noticed it.
Clumsily she wrapped her whole palm over the vial, folding it inside her fist. Pulled it out. Every breath was fire. Each rise and fall of her chest was agony.
If it was in her hand, they would notice it. It wouldn’t be missed in the lining of the bag. Someone would realise it was important.
Marchev would realise it was important. He was smart, that one. He would understand her last words.
She bunched her fist against her chest, closed her eyes. Tears crept from the corners of her closed lashes. She was dying. She knew that.
People shouting. She couldn’t make out the words.
Alecain’s words, the last she’d heard.
“I have to make preparations for my sister.”
It explained a lot.
She let out a breath, long and low. Let her arm slip to the ground beside her.
Didn’t let. Didn’t have a choice.
Her grip softened, fingers loosening. Light glinted on the blood-coated vial in her hand.
The reagent to reveal the invisible ink. They would be her last words, signed on the documents she carried. Signed to make sure they took the threat seriously.
Verified by the Marionette.
She was right before. They hadn’t believed her then, and had paid the price.
Perhaps her death – and her last words – would convince them this time.

Been a while since I've uploaded a project. Currently working on this Khador Jack from the Warmachine TTRPG (RIP Privateer Press) that was given to me by @magicitemsrus about a year ago. Got the base coat done, now I just have to do highlights.

...I'm bored. So you know what? Let's kill some time and practice some creative writing at the same time. Have you guys heard of Single Player Tabletop RPG's? The one I found in particular is a journal style game. Writing the random encounters that happen to your character. Lets see how long I can keep this up.
Journal From The Guilty Cat
Day 1
I’m exhausted, it took three weeks of travel to get out of the reach of Khador. I swear you hide one single spy just that once without really knowing it and all of a sudden you’re a threat to the entire kingdom. Who knew I was so important? Then it’s taken another couple weeks to sell off some parts. It takes time to set up a tavern, let alone one where people can’t find you. It’s not all bad though, it’s quiet, a nice location off the beaten path in the city, if today's opening tells me anything it’s going to be an interesting place. Hopefully this one won’t be burnt down…let me recount everything while it’s fresh in my mind. Never know what I’ll forget so it’s best to keep track.
I had just opened up for the night, and I was graced with a lovely enchantress swinging in. I had seen her around town often enough. Never had the chance to get her name till this point. For privacy sake we’ll call her Five of Cups….I insist that has nothing to do with what she was wearing or how much they runneth over. Nonetheless it was lovely having her in. She ordered a dinner set and while I cooked we chatted. From the sound of things the city needed a new tavern. All the foot traffic was starting to cause some owners to burn out. She hopes having me here will ‘alleviate some stress’ for some folks. Herself included, apparently she works somewhere nearby but we didn’t really get into that. We mostly enjoyed each other's company and spoke of local things. Noble Gossip, recent happenings, you learn a lot from the locals. Wish she was the only one to come in on the first night. She left not to long after the second group arrived.
Turns out my little tavern had been quite the buzz amongst people. So much so that when the second shift ended at a local factory the Laborers decided to come on by for my grand opening. Most of them got comfy in a corner of my tavern while their leader? Shift lead? I don’t know who he was, but if i’m sticking to this naming motif let's call him the Knight of Wands, he worked his way up to the bar to order his boys drinks and food. Thankfully it wasn’t hard to handle, a couple pints, and food orders were quick. I just wish they weren’t so rowdy. It’s my first night opening and I seriously didn’t need to catch the City Guard Ire that quickly. Knight of Cups paid well, apparently they liked the service. He did mention he wished there was more, but I just opened. I’m not going to dip my hands into anything else….yet. Look, a man can’t make a living off of bread and meat alone.  Before things got too bad he got his boys out. Apparently there was some heated debate going on. I didn’t catch much of it, kinda busy with cooking. Shame Five of Cups had to leave when they arrived. The Knight of Cups crew took their time leaving. Which is fine by me.
After that it was pretty dead, only one small little thing left to do. I got in good with a local gang. I’m not going to name names because that’d be stupid. They helped me set up and with a small cut every so often they’ll help me stay under the radar. It’s going to take awhile to get used to things. But I have high hopes for this place. Anything is better than being under Khadors boot.

This is Dobrava, my former DnD character who I played in a steampunk-esque world called the Iron Kingdoms (minor spoilers ahead for the 3.5e campaign The Witchfire Trilogy). The wonderful art was commissioned from @binkyisonline.
Dobrava was originally a cleric of Menoth, a fairly fundamentalist and brutal religion, having grown up in the church and not really known anything else. Her domains were strength and war, and she was particularly good against undead (even for a cleric!) - basically, she was a battle cleric.
As she joined the party and got exposed to more of the world, she ended up converting to the Church of Morrow, the final straw being when Menoth refused to let her heal a cleric from a rival church who she’d been fighting alongside, and was on the brink of death trying to save the city from undead invasion. She converted, and devoted herself to knowledge - to learning as much as she could (including how to read for the first time) about the world that she’d always been cut off from.
More adventures followed - she acquired an ancient longsword, some bitching armour, and even cut off her own hand in a deal with the fey. (Luckily one of her party members could make her a badass prosthetic, including a badass magical/mechanical shield)
And then she arrived back to the city, to be met by a letter from her father - a Greylord, basically a wizard bishop - extremely powerful and extremely religious. She went to meet him, because she was never one to back down from a challenge.
In the final moments of her confrontation with him, she got close enough for her power to pierce illusions to kick in and realise that it wasn’t her father, it was an ancient demon. Or perhaps the demon had been her father all along? Either way, there wasn’t enough time to act on it, as she was overtaken by his power, her mind belonging to him. And that’s where I stopped playing her.
The rest of the party was told Dobrava had “returned to Khador for urgent family business”, and recruited a new member - Zamia (shadow rogue, and my current character)
They went off on an adventure, and recently returned to the city only to find it had been overtaken by a group which included clerics of Menoth, and the Greylord (Dobrava’s father) (not that anyone knew he was her father, she didn’t like to share much about her past). They party devoted itself to fighting back, and were on their way to rescue a few key allies from prison.
But one of the things we’d heard was there was a vampire stalking the upper city, the “night bitch”. Vampires in this world are fairy stories, and there was really only ever one and that was thousands of years ago, but the stories fit the myths. We decided not to go after her, but unfortunately on the way to the prison break, she found us.
It was a tough fight - she was very resistant, although we managed to do some good damage. She was kinda very terrifying though, including healing herself like 120hp in a single term, but when she was trying to run away and reposition, two party members crit on attacks of opportunity, which in this system go straight to “wound points” (much more limited numbers - equal to con score). And she died.
As she collapsed to the ground, the shadows that surrounded her fell away, and revealed first a metal hand, and then… Dobrava’s face. And with her final breath, she thanked us for freeing her from her horrific fate.
