Benefits of Computer Games for Kids
Tumblr media
Children can benefit from playing computer games in several ways. They can improve cognitive abilities like critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving. Here are some benefits of computer games for kids.
Cognitive Skills: Many video games demand analytical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving. Children learn to swiftly assess events and make decisions.
Hand-Eye Coordination: Playing video games can help with hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills by requiring exact control of characters or objects on the screen.
Creativity: Children can express themselves and use their imaginations in games with open world settings and creative modes.
Educational Value: Some video games are made specifically to instruct students in a variety of areas, including arithmetic, science, history, and foreign languages.
Social Interaction: Games with many players promote cooperation, teamwork, and communication, which aids in the socialisation and friendship-building of young people.
Stress Relief: Gaming may be a soothing and joyful activity that relieves stress and gives one an outlet for their emotions.
Goal Setting and Achievement: Games frequently feature goals and prizes, which teaches kids the value of setting and completing goals.
Adaptability: Kids must learn and adjust to the complicated rules and mechanics of many games, which improves their flexibility and adaptability.

So apparently, parents are now PAYING "tutors" to help their children play the video game #FortNite better... (WTH) Really?!?! What do you think? First of all, there's rarely a day that goes by when my 7-year-old doesn't ask me to get this game for him. He says "all his friends" play it. But you know what, I have a no-game-console policy in my house, and furthermore I try to make sure games he IS allowed to play on his iPad are age appropriate and according to @CommonSenseMedia Fortnite is NOT appropriate for children under 12. What do you think about this? Do you let your younger kids play this game? And if so, do you know how the game works and the violence/guns involved in it? I'm curious to know because if you don't let your kids play this, I need help! What do you tell them and how do you not give in?
