Took the day off after an epic launch at work. After almost a year of hard work, 30+ teams, over 100 people, over 1000 jira tickets, 100s of confluence pages, tons of decks, countless meetings, endless coffee, and a very long launch weekend with 4am bedtime, I'm still processing what we've done. What we've accomplished. How smooth it went and how prepared we were. It wasn't perfect, no. (But people and technology typically aren't.) It was, though, about the best scenario we could've imagined. It's interesting because there's this dichotomy on social media, particularly on IG. I'm a mum. Yes, clearly. Love being one. Definitely my top interest and priority. But also a working one. Which takes up a significant portion of my time, thought, and energy. How do you or can you share, or express, the different pieces, and still remain consistent? So apparently, parents are now PAYING "tutors" to help their children play the video game #FortNite better... (WTH) Really?!?! What do you think? First of all, there's rarely a day that goes by when my 7-year-old doesn't ask me to get this game for him. He says "all his friends" play it. But you know what, I have a no-game-console policy in my house, and furthermore I try to make sure games he IS allowed to play on his iPad are age appropriate and according to @CommonSenseMedia Fortnite is NOT appropriate for children under 12. What do you think about this? Do you let your younger kids play this game? And if so, do you know how the game works and the violence/guns involved in it? Research Is Fundamental

You have to know your prospect. Like seriously, you have to know them without an introduction. If you were ever a stalker in your past life...sharpen those skills and put them to use. If you weren’t, find them on INSTAGRAM or LINKEDIN wait for their entire page to load, put your phone in AIRPLANE MODE and scroll away while taking light notes.  

You will also want a good handle on what their company does, how it does it, and how business is going. If you know what their pain points are...study them even more and then begin to craft ways to address their pain points from several angles. 

In the words of SCAR...”Be prepared!” 

This will help when you being to engage with the prospect. You will need to make the prospect feel special and you can do that by adding little personal touches. It will also feel more personal because it will be crafted with them in mind.
