I was thinking about what could trigger Killer into ST3, given its feral and instinctual nature, and how he’s likely to have a range of triggers that are deeply tied to survival instincts, traumatic memories, and the specific conditioning received from Chara.

Besides the whistle that signals the beginning of a Hunt, other triggers could be things like sensory triggers.

Visual Triggers such as darkness or shadows. Sudden shifts from light to dark or vice versa, reminiscent of hiding or hunting in the shadows. Movement, quick or erratic movements in its peripheral vision that mimic prey running away.

Certain shapes or silhouettes. Shapes that resemble the forms of those it hunted, such as the silhouette of another skeleton or specific types of monsters. (I’m thinking Monster Kid in particular stands out.)

Auditory triggers such as footsteps; the sound of hurried or panicked footsteps, which would resemble prey fleeing. Animalistic sounds such as growling, hissing, or other predatory sounds that would signal danger or prey. Specific commands. Words or phrases Chara used during training, like "Find them," "Get them," or "Hunt."

Tactile triggers such as being touched or grabbed. Sudden or aggressive touches that could simulate capture or the start of an attack. Sharp objects; the sensation of something sharp against its bones, reminiscent of attacks or the weapons it used.

Emotional triggers like fear and panic. Sensing fear in others, whether through body language, facial expressions, or even a specific smell associated with fear.

Extreme anger or aggression from itself or others, tapping into the raw emotional state during hunts. Moments of extreme stress or desperation that mimic the high-stakes environment of a hunt.

Contextual triggers such as enclosed spaces. Being in small, confined spaces that resemble the cages it herded others into. Large, open spaces that would have been used for hunting and running down prey. Seeing individuals who resemble those it used to hunt or those who were part of its conditioning.

Internal triggers such as reliving the hunts or other traumatic events in vivid detail during flashbacks. Instinctual responses; sudden adrenaline rushes or fight-or-flight responses triggered by stressful situations.

Behavioral triggers like chasing or running. Engaging in or observing others engaging in chase-like behaviors. Witnessing or participating in fights or other aggressive acts.

Specific Examples for a Visual Trigger: If Killer is in ST2 and sees someone running quickly through a hallway, ST3 might be triggered and instinctually begin a pursuit.

Auditory Trigger: Hearing panicked breathing or the sound of someone trying to hide might trigger ST3 and begin seeking the source of the sound.

Emotional Trigger: During a moment of intense fear or panic, Killer could switch to ST3 to either protect himself through aggressive means or escape.

Contextual Trigger: Being in a setting that resembles the underground hunting grounds or a cage-filled room could bring ST3 forward, ready to hunt or defend.

Internal Trigger: If ST2 begins to have flashbacks to specific hunts, ST3 might be triggered to emerge and react as if it were in that past situation.

Specific situations such as when a confrontation becomes physically intense, ST3 might come out, ready to attack or escape based on its hunting training.

If Killer feels threatened in a way that mirrors past hunts or chases, ST3 could be triggered into to handle the perceived threat through its instinctual responses.

Remember that time I just wrote a whole entire essay about how Nightmare us biased to Xchara because of his potential? Yeah I made a whole ass AU about him joining Nightmare and Killer after stealing Xgasters vital from Ink in the 0.4 battle! Yippie!!! Found family that's slightly toxic!!

I get a kick of out of imagining Stage 2 Killer’s rare interactions with the Chara “inside his head.” Like the kid’s kicking and screaming, purposely jumping in line of his sight even, in an attempt to gain a sliver of his attention and acknowledgment for even a second. Only he either casually looks away, blinks or closes his eyes.

They spit out the most hateful, vile, words they can think of—“remember what I did to you that one time?” “Remember this, remember that?”You’ll kill everyone you ever care about, you can’t even care about anything can you? Because you’re a broken empty doll without me!”—all in an attempt to gain a reaction from him and he’s like..”Did someone say something?”

And when Chara finally gets their hopes up, thinks it’s finally going to happen! He’ll be forced to look at them and remember what the two of them used to be and do and he’ll beg for their forgiveness! Or he’ll even insult them maybe, they’ll take anything at this point, he just shrugs and looks away and says, “..Must’ve been the wind.”

I'm kinda glad that this au isn't forgotten but at the same time, i feel like it's personal, I've been fan of this au for almost five years, i did a TONN of content for it, i even was hated for the amount of content i did ("your undyne is too much we can't stand it anymore!" - shouted five sans fanarters). And after all that someone is about steal it from me??? I have nothing against the person that draws undynetale now, but HHHGUFHHGNNHN
