updated Sleight ref!!

#i changed his colors !!#treat this as a suggestion than a solid ref. i spent like 3 hours drawing and redrawing the legs bc i couldnt get the shape right so if u #wanna draw them more planti or digi i do not mind ^_^ get silly with it!! same goes for pelt pattern do whatevr u want with it #the pelt pattern is loosely based on a snowshoe cat which was fun to play with. as u can see they kinda have a butterfly motif going on #if u squint the ear tufts kinda resemble luna moths or swallowtails with the long tail at the end of the wings #i was kinda torn about changing the costume color but it clashed too much with the new color palette so i had to change it #i didnt include the cape here so its easier to see the costume but ill draw it another time if i remember lol #its also a lil hard to see but i put pinstripes on their pants but thats optional. their design is pretty flexible anyway #god im pretty attached to this guy already. hes like semi fan character semi regular character... oc... thing #i should draw more furries. i followed some furry artists for giggles recently and its true what they say. u need furries in your life #btw while i was drawing this i was fooling around while trying to figure out his costume color and colored it as kaito kids suit for fun #and i just stared at it for a solid 5 minutes before saving a picture. maybe ill post it later #my art #myart #my oc #oc #furry art #fur #furry #laika's comet #laika's comet oc #fan character #sleight #ref sheet #oc ref sheet

i remember i made these designs for snorpy n floofty's parents like 2 years ago, the og post is somewhere on my main blog i dont fuckin know lol, but i felt like redesigning them slightly

#the parent doodles here are actually multiple months old buuuut i never finished giving them colors sooo here they are #i liked drawing Fizzlefuzz again (she still doesn't have a first name im sorryyyy)#it's not shown here but she has a fuckin giraffe neck that i love. the long neck gene did not pass down to her kids so sad so saad #Rustlebean's design is still kinda ehhhh. i might change his colors n pattern some more and maybe give him actual hair?? idk #i wanna keep his fluffiness and freckles cause his kids are both fluffy freckle havers #i also swapped their nose colors here so their pallettes didn't look the exact same as the fizzlebeans #bug game #like i saw 2 years ago this family is black-coded cause I Said So. smiles n grins

if there's one [1] thing i will be forever grateful for in the internet era it's the vast variety and availability of pose / anatomy references supplied by photographers and models

i can go online and find PERFECT references for how fat folds crease the skin or how muscles wrap around the body and as someone who habitually draws most of his OCs ~modestly lean~ and wants to hone his skill in other body types, it is literally a godsend to have those refs so readily available

seriously, thank you all models and photographers for providing me the resources i need to expand my art skills i owe u my life

#drawing other body types is important to me #not just for my own Art Skill but for my audience and clients too #i've seen many a post in my many years on the internet of people saddened for not seeing themselves or their OCs represented in artists wor #esp when it comes to fat characters when it comes to body types #and i can imagine it's Super hard when you wanna comm someone but you're worried they'll slim down your OC #and regardless of whether the artist does it intentionally or not - it still sucks!!#i have a couple OCs - one fat and one meant to be kinda strong-bulky and i wanna use them more for example art #i also wanna play more with different skintones and hairstyles so i think i may make some human OCs to work on those with #ppl have called my art godly / called me an art god and while i'm iffy on being called some kind of god in any sense [despite the username]#i can only ever hope to live up to that praise by having my audience feel properly represented when i draw something that relates to them #obligatory mention that the username is solely bc of an OC of mine who i love dearly

#my art stuff #digital art #baldur's gate 3 #bg3 #astarion #astarion ancunin #this is part of a series I like to call “I’m never settling on a singular detailed artstyle”#I have no consistency in drawing realistic people/characters other than my shapy cartoon style #but I truly don’t get enough opportunity to properly shade anything with art in that style-!!! it always looks weird to me-!!!!!#I think some rude lil worm in my brain is wriggling around telling me it’s a futile attempt at still doing realism #cus I’m one of those “gifted” artists that grew up promising his parents he’ll end up among the big names or whatever #constantly training to become better at art but with realism oil paintings as the goal #you know how it is 😔#I wanna shade my lil funky designs but they never feel good enough to really put energy into or whatever so I compromise with stuff -#- like this where I try to draw characters more accurately while still stylizing them and shading them however I feel like it #which is great and all but I should really learn to give my more relaxed and less perfectionist art a chance #I deserve to enjoy the process and the result without working myself dead #it’s so much easier and rewarding to copy cartoon styles - stylizing realism makes me too anxious of doing it “wrong”#at least cartoon styles give me a goal to reach or a reference to strive towards #man I really should just cut myself some slack altogether #either way - this man is a flustered mess and he’s embarrassed about being called adorable in public or something #being teased in an affectionate way about his sweeter side and stuff #don’t ask why he’s shirtless - anatomy is just a lot more fun for me to draw sometimes #tasteful nudity and all that is extremely gorgeous to me #i need to practice anatomy more cus I just kinda did some shit and went with it this time with a BIT of consideration for muscle structure
