So remember my headcanon that Splint and Albert were siblings, but Splint was the only person who knew? Remember that? Yeah, okay, so I finally wrote something to go with it.

Dear Albert

I don't know if I'll actually give this to you. Maybe I'll get nervous at the rally, and this letter will remain in my pocket forever, but either way, I need to get this out of my system somehow.

I know for all these years, you've known me as the Brooklyn girl who's constantly breaking her arm and hurting herself, which is true. I am quite accident prone, but so are you! I've seen you get into reckless fights with the Delancey's on many occasions, and I must admit, I have cheered quite loudly when you defeated them. Nice to know we have the same slightly violent tendencies.

I'm getting sidetracked, so allow me to get back to the main reason for this letter. There's no easy way to say this, so here it is.

I am your big sister.

I don't even know if you remember me when I was at home. You were still quite young when I left and became a Newsie. You were tiny, but still as loud and fierce as ever, though. Your attitude seems to have stuck with you your whole life, and I'm glad. You certainly know how to stand up for yourself.

I'm sorry I left you in that house with mom and dad. I know how they could get after work and how they got when they were agitated.

I almost cried of relief when I saw you selling with Jack when you were six. While I wish you would've joined us in Brooklyn, I was glad to see that you'd gotten out, and I trust that Kelly boy to take care of you.

I'm so proud of you, I always have been.

When I saw you punch Oscar in the face, when I saw you selling for the first time, when I saw you chasing down the street after Racetrack and JoJo, knowing you'd found things you enjoy and people you really care for, I was so proud.

I hope you always remember that. Your big sister loves you so much and is so proud of you.

Albert sobbed as he read the final line of the letter, tears now spilling down his face like a river.

"It was in her pocket when we found her. I thibk she was going to give it to you at the rally, but..." Spot explained, tears pricking her own eyes as she did. "I'm so sorry, kid."

"She's gone, Spot." Albert whispered, most hope gone from his voice. "She's gone before I even got to know her."

Spot stayed silent for a few moments, wiping her eyes quickly. "...She loved you, Al. Even if it was from afar. You were her little brother, and you mattered so much to her."

"I know, Spot." Albert said quietly, rereading the last few lines of the letter again. "I know."

Honestly it kinda makes me sad that there isn't a lot of stuff on Kallen around (maybe i'm just not searching in the right place :<), but I just loved and adored her character on first sight ngl. When my friend had first showed me "Thus Spoke Apocalypse", I feel like that was already the start of the downfall because the moment Kallen showed up, I was like "👀? oh? pretty girl? hi? hello?" and then I found out she dies so ASLDJFALSKJH

Of course! I didn't get a chance to really get to know her until I picked up Elan Palatinus AND SHES JUST SOOOOO COOL I'm particularly weak for characters that act like Robin Hoods, and her story in Elan Palatinus is kinda like that, trying to protect the weak + fighting against the corrupted church that she had vowed to fight for. I think it's also interesting too that this has been a childhood dream with her childhood friend to "save the world!!" but the more she grows up, the more the dream starts to get strained, and she finds herself questioning it a bit more, but she's bound to her oath to protect and I just alskdjfaldh

Kallen also runs away from the church after stealing some big secret they had been hiding - some powerful weapon of sorts - and it's so wild to me that despite being a traitor in the church's eyes, somewhere down the line of history, you'll wind up seeing that Kallen gets called "Saint Kallen," probably thanks to Otto being the leader of the church (Otto being her friend). The girl that no longer wanted anything to do with the church now being revered as a saint for the same church for her sacrifice later. She never asked for that. I don't think she'd want that, the same way that she probably never wanted Otto to revive her later.

ANYWAYS, on that note: Yae village arc! So at least to me, when I was getting into HI3rd and reading in the recommended reading order, the way that I have Kallen in my head was that by the end of Elan Palatinus, she swore to continue on her lonely path of the Kaslana oath -- that she must always walk alone in order to protect humanity because no one else could ever shoulder this burden but her. Being betrayed by her friend, it's hard to trust anyone/rely on anyone else to do it (at least that's the way I read it but it's been a bit so that might be obscured). So to me, I think Kallen was very much stuck in this idea that she must be the only one to bear this weight to save humanity, and that plays into how I interpret a lot of Kallen and Sakura's interactions. Maybe it's also because I can't understand love at first sight as someone who is on the arospectrum, but Kallen wanting to fight alongside Sakura so Sakura is not alone, the way my brain seemed to register it as, "Is Kallen saying this because she cares for Sakura as a person? Or is this part of the Kaslana oath that she had sworn herself to?" So there's a little bit of balancing between true affection vs obligations to duty when it comes to Kallen's feelings towards Sakura (in my perspective - i'm stressing on this bc i'm anxious forgive me asldfjh). But by the end of the arc, I think Kallen turns around and actually realizes her own feelings towards Sakura in the end, but she's still dutybound and she must protect everyone, even if it means sacrificing (or well not sacrificing but locking away) Sakura in order to do so.... It's just,,, really tragic and it's just 😭😭😭😭Man......

Anyways, Kallen!! I love Kallen. I also love Kallen and Sakura. I have my own thoughts regarding Sakura's feelings towards Kallen but this was just meant to be a Kallen brainrot post myeheh <3

first of all, of course, happy birthday stan the man with the plan.

second of all, i'm so honored to be your favorite fanfiction author! i would have never in my wildest dreams believed that so many people would form an attachment to the weird little things i write. :')

and i am grateful every single day for each and every one of you. <3

this ask actually really hit home for me because one of the imposter syndrome things i've been struggling with recently is worrying that i'm taking too many liberties with stan/kyle and just taking the characters so far out of context that they can barely be considered as style at all...or that they came out of the south park universe.

( edit: uh i spiraled into self doubt after this part, my fear that my fanfics are too ooc and i fucked w everything too much haunts me )

simply put: you all stumbled upon my stomping grounds because you were looking to read style fanfiction, so it would distress me deeply if you or other people stumbled across it and were like woah! wtf!!! this is not stan and kyle??? what's with all these crazy headcannons?!?!

but we have 20+ seasons of south park with...very inconsistent plot, lots of plot holes, lots of plot!!! of course, but not a ton of characterization beyond sort of baseline humor and skeleton stuff.

and in that case, i feel like you kind of have to take liberties when you are given that little in order to make a fluid story w/ realistic characters? so really, i just filled in the blanks with what felt right to me tried to take them from 2d characters to almost 3d people.

and so even if they are not textbook, i feel like every writer stylizes their style a different way ( pepstyle and rmstyle are just mine ) and i guess more than them being perfectly canon, i wanted you to resonate and love them as people, whoever those people may be.

so i am glad they are so lifelike/detailed to you that they seem like ocs compared to what matt/trey have given us, but i hope they are not too ooc/too fleshed out that they take away from actual style.

and honestly most of that anxiety formed around rm!jersey and rm!ravenstan because they are technically goth stan as raven ( plus stan canonically singing in cd ) and kyley b jersey kyle...i just cobbled them to fit correctly into the offshoot southpark universe i created.

which i hope still reads as south park but in a much grittier, realer more modern sense? bc tbh rm happened bc i really wanted to writer a darker, psychological thriller, mystery, raunchy romance type beat.

it just looks a lot different than regular style stuff and i cant really disclose too much about raven until i can progress the plot past at least chapter...6? the chapter after this one? so he seems off??? but
