He didn’t want to prod at painful memories. He trusted Brittany enough that he knew she would tell him when she wanted to. He wasn’t going to push it, but at the least, he could tell that something caused her to stir in her rest and it wasn’t something good. He put her silence on as an aftershock of the nightmare. “Something I can do to help?” He wasn’t going to bring up the topic, trying to do what he can to take her mind off of it.

The only thing she could do was nod. She wasn’t ready yet to tell him of her nightmares-it seemed like every night she’ll have them, and they won’t go away no matter how hard she tried. Turning her head, she gave him a soft smile before nodding, not trusting her words or her mouth tonight.
