It really depends on the song, some are from the perspective of a woman (for example, Ao, Doyoubi no onna, Mousou nikki, Ringo ame, Shougen), some are from the perspective of a man (Shiroi blouse, Yoshikai Manabu, Ajisai, Rinjin, Watashi wa ame, Propose, Unmei no hito, Café de Bossa), some are from the perspective of Mao himself (Futsuu no kiseki, Dear Tokyo, Ichiban sukina basho, Rubber sole, Te, park, Hikari, Binetsu, dummy, Sense) and others are written from the perspective of an unknown narrator, although I guess they reflect Mao's opinions and ideas anyway (Sono mirai e, Zetsubou no hata, Shelter, Graduation, Trick, siren, Kowairo).
