Make it and either it's ignored or you get some tips. It can't hurt. I found you from reading fic and heading to your tumblr. Everyone has one now so you don't look any more "vain" than everyone else. I guess I'm saying, it can't hurt at all. If I ever get going with content I will likely look into it bc I could use all the help I could get. >_>;; So I feel ya.

YEAH I keep going back to the idea of getting it and then backing down bc I start feeling really self conscious about it. like I’m not good enough to be asking for $$, that it’s fic and it’s free so I shouldn’t be asking for $$, etc etc etc and on and on. 

but I’ve also currently got.... 199169 published words up on ao3. not including all the in progress stuff that hasn’t been posted yet. that’s worth something, eh?

That kid's name is Vanitas. More than half the humor is that fandoms will hijack anything. But he's very nihilistic and definitely lives a yolo life, despite coming around more than once. His name is worthy to the character.

So, I cleverly and quite obsessively did all the internet stalking to find you here (you might say to yourself, was it really that hard? to which I'd say, yes, because I only just got a tumblr myself and wasn't smart enough to check) and you can probably guess I'm here for one of the old fanfics. But since I think you're used to that, I'll ask instead: did you ever start working seriously on original fic? Because your world building was the best part.

A worldbuilding fan! I’m trying to guess which fic of mine you read. Top guess is In Short Supply. Second guess is something Naruto.

I have done some serious original fic writing. I graduated from college with a thesis of collected short stories all set in the same world, which, as you might imagine, were very worldbuild-heavy. Said thesis also made me hate writing about that world with a burning passion, lmao. So it and all its worldbuilding have been set on the backburner for now.

Currently, I’m not writing any original fiction, though. When I have spare time, I try to worldbuild a little bit on a story I want to write about an alien species with weird biology. Said aliens have three sexes, and when they reach puberty a trio of them spin a cocoon together and emerge as three-headed adults.

Naturally, somebody goes “okay but what if we DON’T put one of each sex into the cocoon… and instead, leave out one sex and take two of another?” The answer is four arms. Four arms and tentacle legs. And it’s great.

(This is the point where I hope you’re here because of Invader Zim fic instead of Naruto fic, because if you are, then the above premise probably sounds a lot cooler to you.)

But nah, I’m not CURRENTLY writing any original fic. (Still plan to at some point, but fanfic just appeals to me more in general because I enjoy picking at the rules and ideas of already-created worlds. It’s hard to do that when I’m making the world myself, y’know?) At the moment I’m doing a lot of Transformers roleplay and working on cosplay. I’m thinking about doing a fic for NaNoWriMo this year because it’s been a few years since I’ve finished anything novel-length.
